  1. so i assume the wiggling is actual what's called "flex"?
  2. and no, they are NOT all metal. the base plate is plastic.
  3. that's funny! this is the exact same binding that i use. i also weigh about 160 pound. unfortunately i can't contribute a lot to this thread since i just started hardbooting past season. what i noticed, and i don't know if this is supposed to be like that: i can wiggle my foot in the binding a lot, wiggle left and right. i rode it a few days and it felt great, but i am wondering if this wiggeling is just what some here call "flex", of if the binding is actually loose and unsafe. i checked all srews and they seem to be tightened. much looser (more flexible?) then the TD2s i just ordered (and only sofaboarded so far). sorry, that's all i can say. overall, if this "flex" is normal, then i like the bindings, it was very easy to learn riding in hardboots and i hope the TD2 will give me the same feeling.
  4. Hey hey, Randy gave me a great deal on a set of TD2s, so I'm all set. Thank you Randy and thanks to people checking this "Want to Buy" forum vs. just posting in the "For Sale"section :-)
  5. Hi All, So I am trying my luck again, since the arrival date of new baby is coming up fast. I need used Stepin Intek bindings. There are a few bindings up on the German ebay site, but often times those bids end at night or I'm not available to bid when the bid ends. So until I can afford a new set of Bombers, F2s or Cateks, I'd like them to be *very* affordable. Maybe some old Blax or Head bindings? Make me an offer! Thanks, Anke
  6. as a german i have to intervene! this is NOT the euro look!!! at least they are properly honoring the month of Movember, where many men grow a mustache in order to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. no kidding, get your mo on!! http://us.movember.com/
  7. Yes, the Madd 180 is sold to a young lady 55lbs lighter then you :o
  8. the name of the women wasn't coincidentally Anke, a german? my memory is not that great, but i was in alpine meadows around this time, and i remember seeing some (one?) alpine boarder, and maybe even talked to him in the lift or so? or was it kirkwood? :o*confused*
  9. ...for my new/old-madd180-which-i-don't-even-know-if-i-can-ride-board ;-) I want better bindings anyway. Make me an offer, manifesting it to be under $200, don't need heels. A.

i like surfing! i don't like steep, icy hills too much, although i just read the board performs really well on ice, less in soft snow (as it usually is in tahoe) http://hardbooter.net/blog/?p=333 quotes here: opinion on that?get that image of those high-heels out of your mind, you think i am wearing heels when i'm already so tall? flat i like, but up to the knees anyway ;-)

oh guys, you ROCK! bryan, are/were you a salesmen in your present/past? "a legend" i am about to invest $370 in a pair of leather boots, and the money might be better invested in this board! so if i go for it, and try it and don't like it for my riding style, will i be able to sell it without too much loss? i'm a little hesitant as i don't wanna be put off trying a board that is a bit too advanced for me, and ending up disappointed in my abilities. there also is a 170 madd for sale... thanks so much for the quick responses!

oh man! one minute too late! congratulations! didn't want to just sent money. in the end several people sent him money and he has to transfer it back?! oh well... if you don't like them, let me know ;-)
  15. thank you guys, as always! very helpful. i just bought the ATV for being a beginner carver and for the good cost/benefit ratio (do you say that?!) , it will suit me just fine. the coiler metal custom or anything else in that class will have to wait until i have ascended in the pro carving league.
  16. hi everyone, funny, it's been exactly one year since my last post, looking for my first carving board. you've been very helpful, and i finally got a voelkl renntiger GS, which, shame on me, i couldn't try out yet! well, it's the time again and i want to add another board. i know i know, i should probably ride the renntiger first, but there is this really good offer... for the past 5 years or so i have been riding a F2 eliminator ltd 163, and have been very happy with it. i recently rented the newest 169 eliminator, and *loved* the board. i am almost 5.11" (or 179cm) and weigh about 164lbs. i am a good snowboarder (i just claim that), but a layman in board technology. i heard good things about prior, and judging by their website description (couldn't find any detailed online review of this model), it sounds like a great addition to my slowly growing quiver. the question to you all: the board was bought in march 2007, so it must be a 2006/2007 model. - were there any major updates to it since then? - is it a great transition board from my f2 eliminator softboot setup to my new heardboot/renntiger setup? kind of like an inbetween board? i want to make sure i am not buying a board that is too similar to my eliminator. oh, important, i want to ride this with softboots! thanks a ton!! anke
  17. hey guys, yeah, lots of messages, but i really appreciate that, and i need that. when i buy new stuff, i always do a lot of research and ask around. especially when it's a couple of hundred bucks and i am new to the scene. regarding the female/male thing, i always get male stuff, simply because my body built is very strong too. i am strong :-) not kidding actually. i believe i can "fight" a GS renntiger the same way a guy can. i wanted to get a silberpfeil here on the board, but apparently being the first one to claim it is not enough... if i don't get the renntiger, i will thankfully borrow a board from some guys who offered me to test some of their quiver (hey i already know the insider language ;-) i will get boots/bindings on my trip to germany. william, i send you a private email yesterday, not sure if you received it. thanks everyone for your input!!!!
  18. ken, that's *awesome*, thank you so much!!! i am bidding on the renntiger gs 168 on ebay, so i hope i get that. will probably suit me well as a beginner carver. i still would love to try out your freecarve, since this was on the top of my list and of course, the more i have to compare, the better i know about what i am going to buy next. good to know there is another carver so close, so maybe we can get in touch again in early march, as i will be gone to germany until feb 24. talk to you soon, anke
  19. william, can we chat somewhere right now? it's getting private and i don't want to bore other with our privat back and forth... i have a gmail acount where chatting is possible, skype and ichat (aim)
  20. william, thanks! i totally forgot i am in the bomberonline forum ;-) as i am a novice, bomber is not a name i immediately link to a shop. alpineparadise, so how can i find out what boards are available? there's gotta be something...??? and how come you know what swaebisch is? i actually have trouble understanding switzer-deutsch! since i already bid on the 168, i don't want to bid on the 163 as well, even though you guys kind of make me regret my bid for the 168 now... btw, even though it goes for half the price, i doubt it will actually be sold for that cheap. i am sure it goes up once it's getting closer to the end date. i hope it does!!! if not, i kick myself in the butt.
  21. great to know :-) i live in the south, in stuttgart, and definitely will do a day trip or two. not sure where to though. btw, i just bid on the renntiger GS, despite your words and the scratches. i just have a feeling about it... again, does the shop in prague have a website or inventory list?
  22. i live quite far from prague, so i am not sure if i'd fly over there just to get a board, even though flights are available at 90 bucks or so. do they have a website or a list of their current inventory? regarding your cousin, thanks a lot for the offer. sure, if he knows about boards being sold, that would be cool. i let you know if i got the renntiger. :)
  23. what is a DH speed/turn? i have no season ticket, so i am pretty much at a different resort every time i go up to tahoe. i will be back in march (going to germany in feburary), and hope to get the carving experience going by then. one thought of course is to wait until the end of the season and hope that there will be new boards on sale. since alpine stuff is not sold in any stores here, i doubt that there will be an end of season sale on any online store that sales prior, donek, madd etc. any experience with that?
  24. hmmm, i think i am going to bid for either one, but i am left undecided regarding SL or GS. i assume your is 163 too? and even if you make wide turns on wide slopes it serves you fine? as a beginner hardbooter, would i even notice any difference between those two?
