  1. Thank you guys, I'll try my best later on, but am a bit doubtful I can make it work (because of the slightly messed up screw, not having the right tools AND experience). So again, what kind of store could take it to where somebody can help me fix this? A gym with bodybuilders maybe?? ;-)
  2. Thanks BlueB, I thought maybe I need to loosen the top screw so the bottom screw can be turned at all. I guess we just need the right tools: Problem, the front screw needs a philips, and the metal seems to be so soft, we might have messed the screw up a bit, not having a big enough phillips to loosen it didn't help either. What do I do in case the screw is just a ****ty screw, the cross is all messed up and the philips just turns around without turning the screw? To which shop could I bring it for somebody to cut it off or fix it whatever it takes? Hardware store? Home Depot kind of store? REI?
  3. Hi, Got a pair of new UPZ RC-10, and they are so much shorter then my previous boots! I got the setup of my TD2 step-ins, I unfortunately had to cover some screws in the middle disk (forgive me, but describing all those objects and screws with the correct technical term is giving me difficulties...) Now my other board has Blax step-in's on them. I moved the heel block as far forward as possible, but it's still to big. Now the problem: How do I move the toe block? I/we tried (my strong male roommates :p) to loosen the screws, but they are sooo tight and we are not even sure which of the screws to unscrew in order to move that thing. Here's a pic of someone else's bindings, but they have the exact same construction. Take a close look at the toe block and the two screws. One on the top vertically going down towards the looong horizontal screw. I really need help urgently as I am going on the mountain Sunday. But maybe there is a Blax owner who can exactly describe how the toe block is being moved, and which of the screws needs to be loosened, maybe we just all don't know what we were doing. HELP Thank you guys!
  4. i realized i just need to find my perfect angles and NEVER change them again.
  5. Just want to thank you all for the great and valuable answers! I've got a lot of homework to do now...
  6. wondering about the intec version, and if it's somehow easier to install intecs on the RC10. glad there don't seem to be major upgrades, as i just received my 09/10 model in the mail. wow, are they beautiful :-)
  7. Injured my wrist last week for the first ever, hurt badly, still does to some degree. Got myself this orthopedic wrist guard: http://www.amazon.com/Futuro-Reversible-Splint-Wrist-9-0-Inch/dp/B000A2BBZQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1267079555&sr=1-4 I now realize that getting wrist guards for snowboarding might be a good idea. Now my question. Somewhere, many years ago, in the previous decade, I heard someone saying that wrist guards for snowboarding might actually injure you more, for whatever reasons (I forgot why). Don't ask me any details about this, because that's all I remember and that's what was stuck in my head until my little accident last week. 1) Can anyone point me to supporting studies or numbers in how wrist guards prevent wrist injuries in snowboarding? Or personal experiences? 2) Should I just get a second orthopedic guard as the one in the link above and use those under my glove? They do have a metal splint and while I am wearing it it fells very supportive and stable/secure. 3) Any other product tips on which wrist guards to get? Anybody here uses Flexmeters? http://www.snowboardsecrets.com/flexmeter_all_season_order_page.htm Or No Gomers http://www.auclairgloves.com/products.cfm?uid=167?? 4) Are cheap ones like those good enough? –http://www.rei.com/product/744906 http://www.rei.com/product/744905 Thank you.
  8. I also was one of those who held off on buying a helmet for the longest time. After getting into hardbooting last year I finally made the decision that safety is more important, and I still can't believe I was so naive to ride without for way too long. Would you ride a motorcycle without a helmet? I hope not. It already paid off on several occasions, note: OFF the slopes  – Accidentally getting hit in the head by a ski pole in the lift line – Getting smashed in the head (=helmet) by the metal frame of a fast approaching lift Last time I forgot my helmet, I felt so insecure I could not believe I ever rode without! I personally really love soft fleece lining in my helmet. Comfy AND warm!! http://www.smithoptics.com/Intrigue_72_965.html?fl=flase
  9. hey everyone, i do NOT have cable nor a TV, and i won't be able to even be near one on the 26th and 27th, when the PGS is happening. i'd love to see full length videos of the event online, something a bit longer then just 3 minute clips. will full length videos be available once the PGS is over?
  10. ...with another person's view on the clothes of SBX ;-) http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/ski/detail?entry_id=57592
  11. I think you guys should were those: i just got a pair like that for myself, because of course as a women i would not wear baggy pants. i have 2 black ones left, one with white stripes on the side. any takers? i am not kidding... much cooler then baggy
  12. i exchanged several emails with him over the past few days. very nice and helpful.
  13. Boys and Girls, I just talked to Bola from allboardssports, and he has a 26.5 in white for me, shipped out today :-) He accomodated me very well wih the shipping cost, how awesome is that!
  14. Thanks Guys for all your responses. Yes, I am desperate for the white color. I wish I could take a look at the cream color live, but I think I'd still prefer black before I'd go with cream. I also contacted Bola, but haven't heard back yet. I contacted Virus in Germany, and next seasons models will be black and grey, no white, at least that's what their rep said. Maybe somebody will sell them next season, used :-)
  15. Thanks for looking Blue, but I already contacted Dan and he's out of the white ones in 26. Not a fan of the glow in the dark cream color ;-)
  16. EDIT: just bought a pair from Bola at All Boards Sports. 2009/2010 model. It seems they are sold out in most stores, and I want to avoid to order from Germany. Dan Yota from UPZboots.com is sold out of that size... Anybody of you ordered them and doesn't like them? Thanks!
  17. wanted to copy and paste, but this messed up the styling, so here a link:http://wintergames.ap.org/snowboarding/schedule?key=20ded9d8-7e4e-1004-890f-d0913b2d075c&site=CAFRA scroll down and you'll see... can't wait!!
  18. agreed! if you like fast food at all, in'n'out is the best burger chain in cali!!!! that's where i was also once taken for a date
  19. depending on the time of day you'll be driving up there, it's absolutely worth the drive! no problems to drive there, the only danger is you looking on the ocean instead of the road  if you have time off, taking a hike in point reyes is sooo worth it! the beach there, beautiful! you really should be posting on tahoecarvers.com though, that's where most of the bay area locals are...
  20. maybe this thread helps: http://tahoecarvers.com/posting.php?mode=reply&t=68&sid=b769131f1c7265e820fbc3b900cd8687
  21. hi powdahbonz, i read bomber might have some trouble with the email system. can you please let me know which exact models are still for sale? it seems your original sales ad and your post here contain different information regarding which boards are still available. thanks
  22. Stunning! Perfect video for converting softies!
  23. Hey Gents and Ladies, My boyfriend keeps borrowing my ATV 168 to ride with softies. With all that recent powder in Tahoe, I decided I want to make it my all mountain board with plates. He now has to ride my old F2 Eliminator 161, but really would like to buy a board. He just started snowboarding last season, but got good fairly quick! He does not want to invest too much money (he passed on my offer to buy my ATV for $400 when I wanted to sell it). He stands 6.2 feet tall and weighs around 165 lbs. Has has boots already in size 11. He really dug the ATV, he likes the Eliminator 161, and recently demoed a LibTech Skunk Ape 165, which he didn't like as much as the ATV. He's not going into the park, but likes versatility, speed and a few jumps here and there (I know, I should get him into hardboots ;-) Anybody has a used board and ideally good quality bindings for under $300? Thanks for reading.
