  1. You wouldn't want to catch an edge....... John
  2. I was out on Saturday looking at a 61 convertible(327ci, 4 speed). Same colour scheme and pretty original except it had a cheap repaint job. The paint was "puckered" along the chrome strips on top of the front fenders. On the other hand they were asking C$46,000 (US $ 37,000), so you get what you pay for! John
  3. Don't forget the comments of the skiers at SES about how we were ruining the hills by putting those deep trenches across them! A lot of skiers complain about the trenches, then go out and make their little moguls. John
  4. AGHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I will be at Stowe this weekend and then back to Osler next weekend. Unfortunately it will then be school break weekend, and with the death of Jetsgo I guess there will be people there that were planning to be away! I'll try to take a photo of my new toy tonight and get it up. really nice graphic, the shooting star maple leaf (no hiding my allegiances!) on a white background. John
  5. Skategoat, That's probably cause I wasn't up there. My daughter was home from Western for the weekend, and we stayed in town. How were the conditions at Osler? Fleaman, You are absolutely right. He has such an enthusiasm for his boards, it is great. I really enjoyed being walked through the whole process and seeing each stage of the build. I guess we are going to have to declare Osler a "Coiler Only" hill! John
  6. I picked up my new Coiler yesterday. I got a 168 Racecarve, nicely set up for my particuler needs. As a bonus I had a guided tour of the manufacturing facilities of Coiler, quite a set up! I am taking my board to Stowe for the weekend to inaugurate it. John
  7. When I checked in at Aspen after SES, they made me remove the duct tape, they opened the Sport Tube and then struggled to put the pin back in properly and then they used "security inspected" tape to seal it back together. The whole time I was peering theough the "no entry" door to make sure it went back together! I wouldn't get that oportunity in a big airport, but maybe in a big airport they would just x-ray the thing! John
  8. I bought a double ski model Sport Tube this year, and I am really pleased with it. I run a layer of duct tape around the join because I am insecure about what happens if the pin gets taken out in security and not put back right! I don't want to get the thing back in two pieces! Seriously though has anyone had a Sport Tube ever come apart travelling? It's a great unit, and the wheels work well too. John
  9. I have the same board (red/white/blue). I've used it with cateks and (now) with Flows and soft boots. As you probably know it was developed as a boarder cross board, very tight sidecut (9.X meters) . It's a great board. John
  10. Congratulations Dave! Now I know our supply is safe in Canada. John
  11. I don't know about yours, but I have this dryer and it generates heated air, it does a great job of drying, but it also slowly heats my Thermoflex liners and causes them to bulge slightly. I will be converting my dryer over to a small fan and NO heating function. John
  12. Chris, Great film clip! Sorry I had to duck out at 2 PM, did you guys close the lifts? See you in Colorado! John
  13. Hey Sleevez, Glad you had fun, I don't think Osler ahs seen a group that size on carving boards before. If the snow lasts, we'll do it again! John
  14. Csquared, looks like its all coming together, good work. I'll get to the club by 8:30, and be ready to sign my crew in. how do you want to divide up the names? if we have the same conditions we had on Sunday at Osler, it will be fantastic, and if its +8 deg C, then it will be ..... interesting! See you all on Sunday, and Chris I'll see you Saturday. John
  15. Joel, Thanks for the detailed list, it's very helpful for packing! John
  16. Arriving the 12th and departing the 19th. Just me.... John McCutcheon
  17. Chris, Not to confuse anyone but it is actually a fixed TRIPLE chair on Orchard. I think there are signs for "racing check-in" to direct people to the Orchard lodge. I count 17 names on that list, do we have a third sign-in volunteer? Cheers, John
  18. "Superbowl Sunday" Is this going to make a difference? Lets hear some feedback. John
  19. Chris: You got there first I was shocked to find a snowboard article in my morning paper! Good PR for Bruce and Jasey. John
  20. ARCrider, The limit is 6 guests per member, so with Chris and me that is twelve. Chris I think has some thoughts on another member to help sign in guests. Csquared: send me an email and we can try to figure out the logistics of this. John
  21. We are go for the 6th then! The Central Canada Inclined Ice Rink Session! Is there any snow left in Collingwood after last night? John
  22. Well... we woke up to freezing rain this morning, and it's been plain rain ever since... nice to see it's cold and snowy in Aspen anyhow. Nice link with the forecasts etc Pat, thanks, John
  23. Chris, Sunday 06 feb works for me, so there's half the sign-in power! That would make a nice warmup for the 12 Feb departure for Aspen. Have you sent an email to YYZCanuck? Is he around? John
  24. Sundays would work fine, as Csquared says, most of the members are off the hills by lunch on Sunday. If the ski racers have been using the good hills, it may need some grooming .... but hey that just makes it exciting. How many carvers do you all think we could get? John
  25. Hey Chris, I'm around, but I've only made three outings at the club so far. I didn't even get up there this weekend - this d**n cold has nailed me, so I was mostly flat on my back all weekend. But I figured one of us would have to bite on the club bait! It would be a lot better if we could set up a Friday. Then we could sign in a group, and have a lot more hill to ourselves. I know it's hard for everyone to get away on a weekday, but the Saturdays can be crowded, especially if there is a race event using up Slalom or Sleigh Ride. I looked at the club schedule, and the next couple of Fridays "seem" to be open if we keep it under 20 riders. BTW you have to get used to looking for my new helmet (one of the Burton motocross looking ones covered in dino teeth!). John
