not exactly in the lift line but maybe worth mentioning last week i was picking up my Scalpel 180 from being tuned and this guy waiting to pick up his park board looks at the scalpel and says "wow that's a long board" so i replied this is a 180 but my longest board it's actually 188, he kept looking at it and i knew he had no clue a few second later when he asked me if it was a heli-board, i just told him it was a carving board but he looked a little perplexed

and don't forget rubber, there are some boards (non metal) with a combination of rubber (for dampness) and carbon (for stiffness and/or spring) maybe Sean Martin can chime in and explain what each material does by itself and combined with others

it looks like the majority of carvers prefer going on the 8th so here is the official ASSESS thread to let everybody know who is going ALPINE SNOWBOARDING SESSION EXPRESSION @ SNOW SUMMIT the annual carving event to start the year on the edge if you are there early enough we usually meet at chair 1 before 8.00 am take a few runs down miracle mile and/or summit run and move to chair 7 and 10 as soon as they start running for those of you who have not been to ASSESS before it's just an excuse to get together with friends who share the same passion, no sponsors, no T shirts, no goody bags, no raffle, no attitude, just fun, all levels welcomed, great place for newbies to meet local carvers and ask lots of questions let everybody else know you are going, copy the list on your reply and add your name at the bottom Andrea... carvingchef Julian..... Hi Bryan, if you have a TD2 base try that first, when i was using the prototype i tried them on TD2 base and TD3 base and you could definitely tell the difference, TD3 base is more dump and gives you a smoother ride as far as the round base possibly damaging the board it probably has to do more with the construction of the actual board, i don't think the BP round base would be any less safer than the base of the FR2

how about using the same size as the old liner

when i was riding the prototypes i used it on the TD2 base first and then the TD3 base just to feel the difference, i am sure it will work, the cant disc is the same on TD2 or TD3
