  1. Yahoo.... riding Meadows Monday and Tuesday . Might tour above tline on monday if it clears off good instead to avoid the crazies . Their will be alot of people up there riding due to all of the pent up snow angst!!!! 4" so far ...... Lets hope for a #2 storm after this to really build our PNW snowpack.... Jim
  2. At Timberline lodge on Mt Hood has a 29" base with 11" over last 24hrs! One more good storm and maybe Meadows will open too! Would love to get some back country runs in above Tline this weekend but heading to Madison Wi for my brothers wedding. J
  3. Actually the UP ski areas have pretty nice snow due to the "lake effect snow" of the the great lakes. This why most people from the mid-west travel to the UP >4hrs for 650ft of vert! Granite Peak looks way better than when I lived there.... I remember the awesome headwall of "big rib" . Used to ride my burton performer on it after it closed in the spring prior to real snowboards being allowed..... Jim
  4. Hmm think of a Tinkler engineered 192 split and it might cost less than a venture divide custom ..... JIM
  5. Looks like a dream board ! Hope you make it to OES. Jim
  6. Good find Mike ! I was starting to wonder what the NWS was predicting . Jim
  7. Indianhead was always one of my favorites when living back in wisconsin. Good snowmaking even and long runs for the midwest. Grew up in Marshfield and had Rib Mtn as my local (called something else now?) Jim
  8. Yes looks rather unlikely ....
  9. Sorry to renew this old thread but the season is starting to shape up and wondering about if this is still on Philfell? At meadows? Any likely night ? Need to make season pass decisions soon.....
  10. Dam... , working a double that night so far. I will see about giving my shift away to meet you guys. JIm
  11. Ahh the Chaos Theory applied to lift lines.... Jim
  12. I got 178 and 183 and love them. Easy to ride and have titanil sheets in them before every else... Jim
  13. Car pooling Yes What ski area would you be doing this at ? Tline, skibowl or MHM ? Will need to know for season pass purchases this next year.... Jim
  14. I would also join in. Did city league many moons ago.... Jim
  15. I will take the set .... Jim
  16. Eric the only way to do it today would be earn your own. I so badly wanted to come today and ride the zigzag... Did you bring your voile?
  17. Funny I thought the same thing but there is a BC skiboard community out there and bomber even makes bindings for them! The ones i am looking at are the perfect approach size 125cm long & 110mm waist = float. Most other ones are very narrow and too short. Check to see what you have. AT binding are heavy ? I really dont know but want something simple and light....ideas? for something cheap.... Jim
  18. Yes its truly amazing to have feet of pow in June..... No go for Fathers days at Tline .....? Jim
  19. Jon & Sandy, This wouldnt even be a issue for me if I wouldnt have dropped a ski into the sulfur vent on hood. The k2 approach skis worked really well and I didnt mind carrying them at all. The ideal approach ski would be just a little longer and have a wider waist for more float in soft snow than the K2's. But now i cant find anything at all except this summit 125cm skiboards but need skins and bindings to go on it. The summits are ideal however... http://www.skiboards.com/product/skiboards/summit/summit-marauder-125cm-skiboards.html I might be able to get the skiis for <200 yet? Any idea for bindings? Found some old silvereeta 404 At bindings on ebay that I might try to get for <50? Any other ideas? For skins I guess cut down some long ones? Now about the split , after reading the old thread I am torn on what to do. After doing a hut trip in Eastern Oregon I know I would love the float of a split but hate the angles of the bindings. Now does anyone know what or how prior got angles up to 50 on the ATV split? Venture snowboards seems like pretty cool group and have offered the same price for a custom split as production. It is very tempting project to do but want to know prior secret for the ATV. Maybe someone on splitboad.com knows but they are mostly softbooters... BTW the divide 180 narrow specs are very clone to the Tanker 182 or 192 specs.... http://www.venturesnowboards.com/index_07.php?inc=divide.html See pic of Tanker sticker. Keep the info coming....
  20. Yes they do customs and will call to see what it would cost? You think a narrow would be good closest to a tanker 192 at 242ww.... Now if they only could make to longer... Jim
  21. Most old snowblades only have a waist width of 70-80 if they are >100 and at least 100cm long then yes with cheap at bindings it might work . The skiboard guys say get this one...but for that $ -getting a split. http://www.skiboards.com/product/skiboards/summit/summit-marauder-125cm-skiboards.html Jim
  22. Jon, Saw your post on splitboard.com. Thanks for helping! What do you think about a venture Diviide split 180cm Medium width. Its kind like a Tanker 182 ? Its still $1200 but comes complete. ooch http://www.venturesnowboards.com/index_07.php?inc=divide.html Also found approach skiis to buy but sold out till next fall. http://www.skiboards.com/product/backcountry/hagan/hagan-grizzly-99cm-skiboards.html Anyways might be using snowshoes tomorrow at TLine .... Lots new today with sun tomorrow. Jim
  23. Yes winter is not leaving the PNW this year . The NWS has a "heavy snow" warning up for the Washington Cascades with up to 16" new by wednesday. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/forecast/MapClick.php?site=sew&textField1=46.61019&textField2=-121.66939&zone=1 Timberline will be in the best shape ever for summer riding this year. Jim
  24. Good Luck, Its just not happening so far this year. How about a Fathers day ride like last year? Jim
