  1. Yes high pressure breaking down for OES. Glad RJ is coming with the Tankers...
  2. Yes Sandy you gave good advice. I would have loved to ride the the "new tanker" in some of the more manky snow down low but my 192 was excellent. I wish I had slightly longer and wider approach skiis as sidehill uptracks in soft snow still proved "challenging" as I would break through sometimes. Buell, I had my splitboard ready just in case (older voile 173) but just couldnt give up the tanker yet. I would have rode the split if we were to get lots of new snow but it wasnt in the cards this trip. We did find the right aspects for 18" of soft new but it was very localized to north shaded areas higher up. We milked those areas :) I will post more pics once I get all the way unpacked. Jim
  3. Yes my friends scarpas blew a buckle strap this year and he is a lightweight. They have the stupid rivets which makes the straps hard to replace??? However I do like the flex and ability to replace the tongues and with thermoflex liners they are very comfortable. I didnt like the garmonts fit and flex but almost every skier i was with rode them .
  4. Yes I have young kids who ski ....so I ski with them on Rando gear and the scrapas work great. Also another interesting fact about scrapas is the the sb tongues of rachlie/deelux boots works interchangable with the scrapa tongues. When I put my sb race tongues on the scrapas it stiffens them up greatly..... if you want that? If you use td2-3's you will need the wide front bails on them (ask fin). Jim
  5. I used scrapa spirits this last week for a yurt tour in Wallowas in oregon. They worked great, no blisters after 5 days and are way softer than the deelux indy's that I ride normally. Now when will they make a at boot that intec compatable?
  6. Never been to that one but drove by a few times . Yes its good for me? Also remember hopworks off powell last year with Buell? They have a great happy hour that starts at 9pm ?
  7. Sorry to get off this late post but got busy at work tonight and couldnt get it done. I am excited to see the new Tanker proto boards. I sure Bryan and me could offer some feedback on how they ride:eplus2: I probably will only ride monday but might be able to make sunday also depending on family. As far beer and food goes... Brewpub ideas are: Laurelwood on Kearney http://www.laurelwoodbrewpub.com/restaurants.php pyramid brewings mctarnahans taproom http://www.macsbeer.com/the_place.php Luckylabrador on quimby http://www.luckylab.com/html/directions.html Most of happy hours start at 930pm but like Casa El Matador, Ringside, Jakes .... nothing like good & cheap food with more beer.... Any suggestions helpful, please chime in ....
  8. Thanks for bringing some snow along! Keep up the good work. Jim
  9. Alright anyone heading up tomorrow ? Just wondering if i should go ? Also have tuesday open .... Jim
  10. Sounds like a plan Bryan. I willing to host also if you guys want to get drinks and late happy hour in portland? There are lots of places close by to me with awesome HH. Sandy , if you want a free place stay you are welcome to crash in a extra room at my place in downtown pdx and/or use my place in Welchs up by the mountain. I still owe you for the suspension kit that you sent me. I have 2-1 am, 2-2 and 2-3 off from work to ride before heading to the Wallowas (will be leaving 2-3 am to mhm and then on towards halfway oregon). Hope for snow this week! Had some big flakes downtown today while on a waterfront run . Jim
  11. I went on tuesday and had similiar conditions except perhaps better lighting as it was sunny from the start. It was pretty good groomed on top of a harder frozen ice base. Rode with a coworker on softies but saw stop-sign Mike , Randy, and Dan up there also on their carving gear. I had fun and will go again mon & tue this week. Pray for snow!!! Need POW prior to heading to the Wallowas on 2-3.....touring on ice = alot of drinking ... I promise to get a Tanker day in with Sandy when he comes . Cookout at Bryans ???? Jim
  12. Hey I am game to go tomorrow if someone joins me. Have to drop the kids at school so wont make it till 930am. Skied today with my kids and it was nice and I didnt think it was too soft. It was alot like last tuesday and slow to soften.... Will give you a call tonight as just got home . We stayed last night in Welchs at the cabin. Jim
  13. Glad it warmed up for you. Wish I could have stayed another hour or two. Yes it was a large group of alpine riders.... Maybe next mon or tues again? Jim
  14. Not too many used splitboards above 170cm. It seems most users like them shorter so they are more rare. Voile , prior , and venture might have a few new ones.
  15. Promise to show up tomorrow in sunshine hopefully..... Eric and Mark also might join us....
  16. I think it was me and my friend Mark on the way up to BC for our annual cat-ski trip. Awesome day at Crystal with the new snow. Jim
  17. Mhm on mon or tues whatever looks best? Anyone want to join me ? Jim
  18. Ok,it was the first run of the year for me down 1 & 1/2 bowl! Here are some more pics .... Going up mon and tues again this week... Thanks for pic Eric Jim
  19. Rode meadows on friday on a Tanker 192 and didnt hit anything at all however you still need to be careful. The snow quality was fantastic. It was the first time ever that I was getting face shots and inhaling snow crystals on the way down the bowls. Got stuck a few times but nothing too exhausting. Rode MH express and shooting star. Will post a few pics soon. Jim
  20. +4 on Tankers but there are others that work well.
  21. Hey Bryan I am heading up tomorrow also . Give me call when you get under way. Jim
