  1. @Carvedog: Yep, we got our Vid to be the "Semi-offical SES-Vid" :) @Thor: Well, you seemed to have a lot of time looking for us in the bars I hope we can do some runs there too. Coming to Aspen just fpr a tour through the bars is a bit of a "overstatment" :p Yes we'll ride, in the mornig Ajax, afternoons at the Bomber-tent-place! And in the evenings there will be time for some ... :D
  2. See you there! 3 crazy FB-fellows coming overseas to have some beers and Germanclasses with Michelle! Cheers MadMax
  3. On my Cayborg I used some metalpolish! And then a lot, really A LOT, of Liquid Glass to prevent it to become unshiny again, but I still not really happy with it, so I'll do some more layers of it! PS: don't care about people laughing at you, when you polish your board in the valley at the parking lot... :D
  4. ok, got that, sorry! Yes and no, my experience is that you can judge after some runs on a board, if it is fun for you to ride and if you come along with it. But then you are right: to really get used to a new board can take some days to find out it's "sweet spots" :) Otherwise demoing wouldn't really help people finding a new board, but buying them instead and reselling it, if they don't like it after some 10 days of riding and trying something different. :D @ Jack: so it's 15 to 8 Ok, I also think that it should not be necessary to always make clear that it is only your opinion when writing something on a messageboard... but on the other hand, some statements are made too much like "this is the truth, there is no other" like "Yes they are (better)!" Cheers Max
  5. Hmmm, I'm no sure how you can be amazed!? I went through this Fred again (Up to the Texalium discussion, cause this makes too much trouble on my statistics ), just for fun, counted the metal-lovers (who I think ride a metal or have demoed one) 16, then the "personal taste" fraction like ray (sorry for using your name :) ) that ride/tested metal already 7 (incl myself) and then there was one, 1, one more than zero, who didn't ride metal yet, but who was also just saying that he's afraid of testing one, cause he fears to want one then. So I'd put this guy into the metal-lover fraction! Now we're down to zero person in the Thread having a very strong opinion without riding... I do like both and have ridden both, but for some irregularities I found, that my Cyborg Titanal (metal) is the liviest board (springy like hell), whereas the undertaker Zylon that I'd love to have as "bad weather - icemachine" is uberdamp, and the Undertaker Evo (some Metal inside) is in the middle of these two... strange isn't it? So, I agree on pogo and Ray, it's a choice of taste, there is no better or worse in general! Cheers
  6. I prefer the way Fruno is doing it, not caring too much about the specs but more about a testride, if the chance is given of course! Roy, will you be at the SES, there might then be a chance to skip the shipping costs...
  7. I always wear my suit under the normal boarding clothes
  8. I tried to summarize my impressions with my new UPZ RC10 Floliner here: http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=22225 Short recap: best hold of heel I've ever had!
  9. Hey Ray! Since I've never had one of the old UPZ's on my feet I can't tell how much lighter they are, but hey are indeed really light. PS: Aspen is not that far away anymore... I cross my fingers...
  10. My feet: problematic: ca. one number difference in size. on both feet ganglions with the size of my thumbtip next to my little toe sensible ankles that hurt in some boots, but I never know exactly where and why. left shin (goofy rider) hurts after two days of riding. Up to now I was riding a Deeluxe suzuka (blue) with Thermoliners and a shintronic to protect my rear foot. The pain of the ganglions was reduced by refitting and widening the bootshell arround seven times last winter. So the remaining main issues I had were, that I always knocke my front foots big toe after jumping so that the nail became black and had to heal over the whole summertime. And second was my shin that was ok with the shintronics, but this was at the cost of foothold of the heel. With that new trouble was coming up, that I could lift my heel by estimated 2 cm till it got stuck at the bootshell. The liner was already thinned to some cloth at this spot. This weekend in Sölden I could test the new RC10 from Virus/UPZ. The Outcome: I have new boots! Now to some details and my first impressions with it: if you step in the first time you might think, the liner is horrible hard. You really have to wait till the it warmed up! People recommend never to leave the boot in the cold (car) during night! After warming up it felt a lot better. foothold for my heel is enormous. Never experienced such a great transmission. The zones of transmission in these boots seem to be very different than in the Deeluxe boot. free toes: I have really nice space arround my toes, so that I never bounced the big toe even during bad jump-landings. I can't really tell how my shin will be when riding this boot without the protectors (the tongue is said to be much better in that respect), cause I forgot them and rode two days in my old boots without. So the shin did hurt already when I switched to the UPZ. Will update on that asap the “flowliner” can be molded by hand a bit to get rid of little dent marks (?) by “massaging the gel away” In addition I have some hints for you: make sure, esp. when you get a new boot, to retighten all screws and even fis them with some screwglue (loctite?) if your riding intecs, the drive-in nuts have to be mounted. This can be tricky, so it's wise to ask if you could get it done by a shop of your trust again, when trying the boots the first time, wait some minutes for it to warm up, in the beginning it feels odd! my feet are different than yours! There's no guarantee that they fit your feet, so always try it out, if you can. If not, make it possible :) Good Luck. PS: I'm not really an expert in judging flexes of boots. I was riding my Suzuka in open positions, sometimes it snapped and I didn't really felt a difference. This might also be due to my narrow-board riding with high angles! With the UPZ you get an adjustable springsystem and walkmechanism. Up to now I preferred riding with the springs! Cheers Max, hope I didn't mess english up too much
  11. Hey Ray! Yes the weekend in Sölden was just great! And for the runs together: I really want to, and I'm almost up to sell my "Blingbling-Cyborg" for the financial part.... we'll see! Hopefully at SES 09!
  12. This is how the UT Evo rides in Sölden And I can confirm the incredible stability at high speeds!
  13. If you are afraid of UV light, then just put some suncream on your board, that should work
  14. I would not sign that What has been one of the most famous words about a board: "It doesn't really matter how it rides, as long as it looks fancy!"
  15. There is wood in it??? Nice Brettsche Ray
  16. Ok, I'll wait for your solution to come Though the prices went up from 560€ to 700€ Hoping that they'll go down again! :)
  17. Hans, I recommend you to put some Liquid Glass on your "Blingbling", at least 4 Stacks of it. Otherwise it won't be as shiny anymore soon! Wish you fun with it!
  18. I'm not Ray, but let me shortly correct: Yes, 3 boardbuilders in Zürich: Schoch bros. Jörg Egli, working on his third board (First one made by Kessler, second in austria at Elan, so Kessler is not producing @ Elan) And third: Oxxess. Cheers Max
  19. Well, hopefully at SES 09 already. :D
  20. Hey Michelle, what about your plans about O-Fest? Cheers Max PS_ We're already looking for a lot of people to join naxt SES here ... Don't be afraid, it can't get worse
  21. I can imagine you running arround with brown paint to make the leave turning, just a little bit But no way, it's not too early, I'm a bit late though, haven't polished my "Blingbling" yet.
