  1. ...Except that the stuff used in the Dallas resort is just carpeting with water sprayed on it. No refrigeration required. This material has already been used in Europe, so it has been tested and is actually pretty good (according to the ir PR video ). The fake glacier stuff for the climbing wall is basically going to be a regular climbing wall painted white, I can't find anything on the bearfire website about if its some fancy fake ice stuff. Sorry about the threadjack, Jen, although I guess it is still technically on the topic of "summer time riding" ;)
  2. Cool, another carver from Texas! Although I can't ride with you in Chile, in a few years, we'll be able to ride here (if it is actually built...)
  3. Just do that, and if you see other people interviewing with just a regular suit, go to your car and put your suit jacket on, then come back in. Or just don't worry about clothes and cook something better thenathe other people interviewing.
  4. "rasied so much havoc":lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: :angryfire"Y'all brown-heads get off of my lawn, Confarnit!":angryfire
  5. That's actually what she (that woman walking) is talking about. On her website, she is not only feminist, etc., she is also aknowledging all the mascualine roles society forces upon men and that they are bad and promote violence.
  6. That seems like a good cause. Her point about women not being able to walk alone, etc. is very true, IMHO. If there is some murderer/rapist/mugger/etc., it doesn't make any difference to him (88% chance its a guy) whether or not you are a big strong man or dainty small woman, because he probably has a gun, or atleast a pretty big knife. No matter what your gender, you are weaker than a bullet or knife. And, hey, its also against the Iraq war, another plus.

    donek fc1 171

I sent you an email asking for pictures, but I forgot to add could you include close-ups of the knicks on the topsheet and any scratches on the base? Is the red "metallic" red, or "solid" red (this isn't that important, just wondering). Also, does it have the olympic construction upgrade? Does price include shipping? Thanks.
  9. helps me fall asleep, its very relaxing:sleep:. I don't know about swaying back and forth, thats a little crazy:smashfrea.
  10. "this board is a cosmetic example of the challenges that madd had with quality issues that year" Does this mean that it only has cosmetic damages on the topsheet? Is the base in good condition? Could you post pictures of it, as well as pictures of any scratches on the base? Is it an F2 or F3 flex? Thanks.
  11. I think it is kind of legal to rip dvd's to your computer, but only if you own them. I have handbrake, a very easy to use application that used to only be for mac, but is now for windows. Its free and good. You can get it here: http://handbrake.m0k.org/?page_id=8. As for getting on your tv, the best wireless option would be the Apple tv, here: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=browse&mco=A2515AD&node=home/ipod/apple_tv. I would suggest just hooking up a cord from your computer, but a benefit of the apple tv is that it has a nice interface and is wireless incase your computer is more than about 10 feet from your tv. The problem with it is that you have to have an HDTV, but I think there are work-arounds for that to make it work on a regular 4:3 tv. Another problem with it is that it doesn't come with any cables to go to your tv, so that would be like around $50 for cables. That's my 1.5% Euro (2 cents) :p
  12. Let's see this technology incorporated into edges... Titanal out, ceramics in
  13. What size boot will the "medium" fit? thanks.
  14. Would it be possible to buy the TD2's along with the board? If so, how much would they cost? Please post or email me. Thanks.
  15. Tex- I am about 5-10 and 135, and a beginner carver, not snowboarder. The only other alpine board I have ridden is a Donek Pilot 152 w/ a little boot over hang (rental from the bomber people). I really liked it and this board seems like a big step up from a 152. Also, I usually ride narrow trails and would prefer a small radius, but I have heard this board is turney, even though it has a big radius. The radius shouldn't be a problem once I am (hopefully soon) laying down some deep turns.
  16. Is this a good board for a beginner? According to the carver's almanac, it is, but it seems a little long for me. If it would be possible, chubz, please post a picture of the base and close ups of any scratches on the base. Thanks.

    Madd 158

I am a beginner, and this board seems pretty good for me specs wise, but on the Carver's Almanac, it says the Madd 158 "requires an advanced weight-forward technique and is not suitable for beginners". Does anyone have any insight about this, or what would be a better board for a beginner? thanks.
