  1. Thanks John for posting the video! Good edit. Saturday was a blast riding with you all. Congrats on the rubber legs race. That course was HEINOUS! I thought you guys were joking when you said you were going to enter. hardcore.
  2. i have a free pass for saturday! my only problem is i have no suitable board for soft conditions. anyone have an extra board they could loan me if needed? i was thinking about trying to rent a lib-tech magna traction, i think hoback has them. it will be a hoot to get together!
  3. did we get different skis, is R=K10.5 M the turn radius?
  4. haven't been this excited about a purchase since i bought my first Prior metal! bought the 155cm w/lifter. thanks for everyone's help. :)
  5. thanks for the info. i have Dolomite boots now, i will have to go home and see what model i have. I am interested in the pair of skis at Sierra which are 155cm @ 10.5R. i tried a pair of Stockli SC 163cm @ 13.5R and was not very impressed. Currently i am using Salomon scream series xr spaceframes, 160cm @ 114/80/108 17.3R. i like them, just turns too big.
  6. I need your advice, i am considering buying these Palmer skis. the skis at Sierra don't come with bindings or the race plate. what would you recommend? I am new to skiing and want be as close to snow as possible like the guy in this video link. currently i can get both hands on the snow but booting out when i try to get my body close. any suggestions? thanks! <object height="385" width="480"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BxYBnLJEOc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="385" width="480"></object>
  7. Just found this. pretty sweet film. Swoard in the powder. <object height="340" width="560"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8asI-OG7Uc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="340" width="560"></object>
  8. Actually my applause for holding the camera as steady as you did. Nice video:biggthump I just bought the Lumix ZS3 less than $300 and shoots 720hidef. very happy with the video i shot so far especially when i watch it on girlfriends 50" plasma hidef tv. trying to come up a mount for my helmet. was going to edit the video on my work computer, it is super fast, but literally the day after i bought the camera the boss put out a memo saying we are not allowed any longer to plug "anything" into the pc's. sucks. cheers! http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/ZS3/ZS3A.HTM
  9. I have been born again on "carving skis". I know i will die in hell for this but...i had so much fun today skiing @ the village. the little kids were falling in my trenches on teewinot . I watched this video of this Polish guy doing fully laid out turns and it inspired me to try something different. linkie,,, I will be at SK to watch. Cheers!
  10. ok, this is all the info i could get...The pond is 25 x 70 feet. 3-4 ft deep. Prize for best costume is a season pass for next year. Other random prizes for best splash etc. No money prizes. Beer, food music, sunshine and fun. Does not cost to enter.
  11. my friend is in charge of the event so i will talk to him about the details. will get back.
  12. I am entering this year! Woo HOO! pond is going to be 20 feet longer and one foot deeper. there is going to be a jump and flat entrance, you can choose. no entry fee. Went to the village today and skied, pretty firm but smooth in the morning and by noon it was quite carv-able
  13. Went to Snow King yesterday @ 2pm. conditions were surprisingly good:). firm smooth grooming and no racers for once. going today after skiing at the village where conditions are pretty bad. :( New HD camera works great just no software yet to edit. cheers.
  14. I need a coiler :( i took a few runs and bounced all over the place. got out the carving skis and had a lot of fun. I can get both hands on the snow. I kept trying to do a fully laid out turn but my knee kept getting in the way.
  15. two-ravens are you planning on going too the ghee on sunday?
  16. IMHO, don't want to start a flame-war. bring your carving setup if your comfortable on it cause there aint no powder anywhere! i could be talked into going to Targhee on sunday if everyone say's thier going? could be a hoot and i have my new HD camera! the village has had no lift lines and good grooming and the place is mammoth, the village has everything. easy does it, liftline and sleeping injun runs have the perfect fall line for carving. that's why i spend all my time there, there under the casper chairlift thus the nickname "caspercarver". i will let dredman and two-ravens fill you in on the attributes of their respective mountains. oh, the village is EXPENSIVE. hope to see ya. cheers!
  17. ya, more like a bobble-body with a still head, and concentrating on stare-ing at that camera the whole time was tough,:) miscalculation i think...if you can slow down the video at about 1:49 i am directly over the board, then at 1'50 i am waaaaay in the backseat, at that point i went to switch and it looked like i had recovered and if i had had another three feet i would have made the transition out and missed the fence. cheers.
  18. hi CASPERCARVER i just watched your video again (for about the 5th time) tonight. it seems to get better with each additional viewing lol. do you take requests? noticed you were leaving near perfect symmetrical tracks in the snow (i.e. heelside carves looked identical to toeside carves.) furthermore done on an assymetrical board no less! everytime i see thin symmetrical tracks in the snow i always think of the song WATERMELON MAN because of the near “mathematical” symmetry of its composition. sorry but i’ve always approached music mathematically rather than melodically lol. in future i hope you will post a video that focuses more on the perfectly symmetrical lines that you leave in the snow scored with the song WATERMELON MAN. i would really be stoked to see (and listen to) that! check out WATERMELON MAN below: <object height="344" width="425"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYDH0ZGoo_M&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></object> glad you like the video. i was watching it last night on a friends 50 inch plasma, wow! your idea sounds cool i have a new hd camera so will see what happens, cheers!
  19. i will be at the village most likely. went to the snow king today. it was pretty good except for all the racers, constantly having to look over my shoulder, yikes! i will post again on friday or saturday after i know conditions. it's been very warm and not much snow so who knows? we should be easy to spot, thier are only a few of us. do you already have tickets?
  20. totally agree with you on the wii. if i had to do it over i probably would not have posted this version. half the time you can't tell if i'm going forward or switch. too confusing.
  21. Your right about Cantaloop (flip fantasia) i got it off an old compilation cd i found buried. I really think it's perfect for the video:cool:.
  22. i lost my balance and did three turns out of control trying to get it back but then the fence jumped out and hit me :) did knock the wind out of me but no injury. i wear a helmet pretty regular now, never know when something is going to get in your way:biggthump
  23. Too bad we didn't see each other. JH Resort only has two other regular hardbooters and one is a full time instructor and the other full time racer. in other words i have the place to myself mostly. if you come out next year send me an email.
  24. what do you think? carving on bluebird sunny days at JHSkiResor last week. Cheers <object height="340" width="560"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWPeH_kjzkA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="340" width="560"></object>
