Here are some first visuals of the magazine

It is time to get everyone involved! In Greece we have a magazine called EXTREME EXPERTS which has been very supportive to all our efforts to promote the sport. In collaboration with the specific magazine we have decided to produce the first and only magazine dedicated to the sport of snowboard carving. It will be an annual magazine and we are looking at a launch date in November 2009. The magazine will be a luxurious publication (English language) of 160 pages covering all aspects of the sport. The first issue will be printed in 2000-3000 copies and will be sold worldwide at a price of 15 - 20 Euros (including shipping). The contents of the magazine will be the following: Carving events a full spread for each event that took place during the year in different parts of the world. A few weeks ago I posted a thread asking for all carving events that happen throughout the year. Therefore I would like to ask all people involved to send me (alexis@gforcecarving.com) their contact details and to start collecting material. Interviews Chris Klug, Joerg Egli and more talking about alpine snowboarding Technique tips Begginer, advanced and expert tips by Jack Michaud and others Resorts A presentation of worldwide resorts ideal for carving Rider profiles Each issue will feature 5 riders from different countries and different riding styles Manufacturers Presentation of manufacturers, their products and the development process Ads No magazine production can be feasible without ads The concept of this magazine was presented in Solden during the Carving Masters event and judging by the people reaction and interest it seems that our community can definitely accept it and be a part of it. The name that we are currently using in SNOWBOARD CARVING MANNUAL but it is a first approach and my no means final. At this stage I would like to ask everyone to contribute their ideas for contents, name of the magazine and any other thoughts that you may have that will make this project as good as it should be. Excellent event!!!!!!!!!!!! It is amazing to see an event taking place for a second time and being so succesfull with so many participants. Snow conditions were phenomenal!!!

Since SES is a kind of a reference for all why don't you start a thread with our favorite SES riders??? This is also very subjective but it would give us an idea of the riding style that is the most popular.

Well I have never been to Zinal or Oppdal but I'll take your word for it. I am refering to the most popular resorts in Europe. Aspen is expensive but at least from the people that are joining me every year it is worth every penny. Maybe because we are getting a large discount on group tickets

The problem with most european resorts is that although there is plenty of width they are so crowded that making wide turns can cause accidents. The goos thing about WCS is that there was a restricted run that only the participants could have access. I think most of us that attend the SES in Aspen hope to find similar conditions in europe but that is just not possible!!!! Aspen is the best place for carving :ices_ange can't wait til SES2010.

Where did you get that??? The vist plate is made in the VIST factory!!! I have been there, saw the production and had a chat with the development guys. Georg is making boards in his factory in Italy and he is a really nice guy.

Thanks Hans. It is actually pure carbon top sheet. Same as the BLADE S and the RAZOR S. Inside there is of course a vertically laminated wood core. The base is nanocarbon.

What I found interesting with the kessler boards is that all the new construction comes with a p-tex material on top of the titanal (the black boards you see on the foto). He puts the p-tex to protect the titanal which I thought it was a cool idea and the kessler logo is die cut so you can see the titanal underneath.

Yes, I am still cooperating with Sean especially on custom shapes (for europe) in addition I am offering the option of a Donek Blade or Razor. In addition I have been setting up my own production in Europe. Sean has been doing a great job but for me in order to sell through shops in Europe I had to establish a local production. I agree the least important is the board. Find a pair of boots that are comfortable and no that stiff. Something like a Deeluxe 325 and make sure they fit well. A good boot with comfortable fit makes all the difference between loving and hating alpine riding during your initiation period. Although the TD2s and TD3s are exceptional bindings but in my opinion you should go with something softer like the IBEX (ex burton race plate). Very affordable and will give you plenty of freedom on your first runs.

Thanks Steve, Here is a heads up for the next season. It will be called RACE. 175 and 182 with around 19cm waist and a lot of pop.

Last weekend in Davos during the WCS09 I got to see the new Track 700. Besides the change in color there were no differences in the exterior shell. It also seemed that the inner boot was different. I did not get a chance to ride with it so I can not say if there are any more differences.
