  1. Stuff to put on it: Fin's birthday? The anniversary of the founding of Bomber? Dates for WC races? SES dates? ...
  2. Did you try any cant/lift with the set up. Heel lift on my rear foot helps with my missing cartilage and ligaments.
  3. Is the stance width as wide as it looks in the photos? I heard tell that Tinkler is making someone the "longest snowboard ever". Is this true? What length? Who ordered it? Someone up in Bend is what I heard. Who is that? Mike T? Doug D? Hmmm. Inquiring minds want to know.
  4. Check out dsusa.org. They run sports programs all over the place. In Tahoe they run the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School at Alpine Meadows. Every year I compete in a race/fundraiser and raise a few hundred dollars to support them.
  5. If you decide not to go to SLC, Tahoe will still have great riding then. Mammoth is always open really late (June), but Alpine/Squaw/Kirkwood/Rose will all have good conditions in April.
  6. Check out this video of a guy's $800,000 maserati in the snow: Holy Cow! Maserati needs snow tires?
  7. It will be at Northstar again. They're doing it there for two years in a row.
  8. Just an FYI, there's a place online called BomberOnline that sells Booster straps. I recommend giving them your business before anyone else. The shintronics thing looks interesting, but I don't need any more crap to strap on my body in the morning. I have way too much stuff now. Another Link to the BOL page for the Booster Straps.
  9. Needs explanation please. Hurt emotionally or physically? Got pics? Sorry for the rest of the crap, doesn't sound fun, but at least you got a bunch of stuff out of the way all at once!
  10. If any of you Euros come across an original Duret swallowtail board from 1986, please let me know. It was my first board and I'd really like one to hang on the wall. Thanks.
  11. Go get good custom footbeds. They may hurt for a day or two, then you'll absolutely love them.
  12. Approach skis will suck in those conditions. I had a pair and in light deep fluffy snow I might as well have been postholing in my boots. I sold them to Zach Davis who does way more backcountry than me in a wide variety of conditions so he has some use for them. Zach should weigh in on this subject, he's the "Earn Your Turns" expert. You can find him here if you look.
  13. I replaced mine recently because of play in the pins. Seemed the sensible thing to do. Does anyone know if F2 made changes to the manufacturing process or design as a result of the lawsuit that is still pending? I doubt they'd advertise such changes, but you never know.
  14. I tried waranteeing my 4807 when I first delamed the tail a couple seasons ago. Dynastar fixed it (it didn't totally take, I've re-delamed it) and sent it back saying they don't replace boards for "user error" or something like that. It was obvious I'd hit pretty hard on some rocks, due to the gouges in the base. I highly doubt they'll send you a new one now, but go for it and let us know how you make out. Mine is going on the wall soon. I'm buying fat skis to replace it.
  15. Did the t-nuts rust? Do you dry out your boots with the liners out ever? Hmmm. Scary regardless.
  16. You can start by rotating your current bindings to an angle that is comfortable. Don't go up by more than 5-10 degrees at a time. When you get to about 30 degrees, its probably going to be very limiting, given your equipment. Based on what you said, a hard boot, true carving set up would probably be great for you. You don't like pipe/park and like to carve. IMO you can't do this as well on traditional equipment as you can on carving equipment. Are you in the US or OZ? There are a few other Aussies here so maybe they can tell you where to find stuff in OZ. Otherwise it is mail order so do your homework well here on Bomber before ordering since returning will be a biatch.
  17. Mine has that crease in it too. I don't know when it appeared. It doesn't seem to affect performance. However, the big crack down the middle of mine does affect performance, as does the delaminated tail. Hitting cliffs, whether with the tail or with the nose, is bad for the board. Mine is a wall hanging now. I don't know whether to blame it on poor build quality or stupidly aggressive riding by me, but you definitely can kill them. FWIW, this is only the 2nd snowboard I've ever broken (I broke lots of skis in my skiing days).
  18. Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0QsDlT5_V4
  19. Hmmm. Curious choice of words.
  20. Move the bindings back and it will be OK in the POW. Have fun. It should be light pow given the temps you guys are getting.
  21. Hell no. The thing is big. If you want a pack you can ride with, get a traditional backpack and just strap your boots to it like Noah suggested. I figured you wanted something good for schlepping boots and other basics around the village/parking lot/house. I rarely ride with a backpack, but when I do, it is a narrow Burton one that holds a board reasonably well. I'm much more likely to need to carry a board on my back than boots if I'm riding.

    hard time

Where are you Bear? Perhaps you can find some locals willing to help out as you demo/try/buy used gear.
  23. I have the biggest one. Friends have multiples. They have the big one for the adults and the smaller ones for the kids. I never use the belt and I find it plenty stable for walking to/from the car with just the shoulder straps. Here's the one I have: I bought it on sale at the end of last season. I want to say I paid around $50-60 for it.
  24. Cowboys on ice skates. Not that there's anything wrong with that! ;) Ice Skating Cowboys Video
