You mean there's a football game on Feb. 5? I, for one, will be snowboarding that day. You all should be too. Maybe I'll run the Tivo. Superbowl Sunday ranks right up there with Xmas day and New Years Day for great riding days.

ralann, There's a SG this weekend at Northstar at Tahoe. Its run by Sierra League. I think anyone can enter. I did it two years ago and had a blast. Its run with ski gates, but you can armor up in case you hit any. They run it down Challenger which has a long flat in the middle that tests your tucking ability. I think I ran it in about 1:20, but I could be wrong. I can't do it this year. :( Its a long drive, but its driveable.

Tognar sells some stuff that's supposed to be good. Never used it myself. Link Here I suppose this posting is also a comment on the viability of making your own split board. Have others had success doing this? Seems to me buying a board made as a split would offer better durability and fitness for purpose. Any thoughts on this subject?

Isn't Mark Harris the coach at Schweitzer? His name on here is snowcoach. I'd recommend tracking him down for help/suggestions/maybe even demo equipment. Do a search here and you'll find info on him and you can contact him through Bomber.

R6Messagenet is the one I had in mind. They do it two ways. One is there is a distinct subforum in the For Sale / WTB section where people can leave feedback. But if you look at people's avatar/info, you'll see a trader rating in some of them. You link to a thread that was the sale details, and you post positive or negative feedback for the other user. Its kind of like the feedback mechanism in eBay.

vBulletin software has the ability to create a buyer/seller feedback section. I've seen other boards that have implemented it. It works pretty well.

Maglev. Cupholders Regenerative Heating (keep snow off and tootsies warm). Recco and/or ortovox locator. Tree well extrication device. Speedometer (record max speed and avg speed, plus total vertical feet). Flamethrower.

Seems to me we're talking about a review of a snowboard here, not a personal attack on the makers/riders of that board. I know we all take this stuff very personally, and get pretty attached to the stuff we choose to buy/ride, but it seems to me that you are taking this a bit too personally. If it were someone other than Phil, I might feel differently.
