there's a few carvers in your area, Tex comes to mind. and all you lurkers out there, there's beta to be had, gear for cheap and most of us are willing to help if you're trying to figger out how to get into alpine. +1:biggthump count me in on this Buggs. Down the road I wanna get more involved in helping promote alpine and showcase some events to help people actually get beyond the " Man, I'd love to try that sometime, it looks so fun." Kinda like kitesurfing, alot of people aspire to get into it but very few of them make the commitment and actually ....do it. that got my attention You can get to some good stashes at Stowe without having to hike much. Hayride Woods, the Riverbed , Oz, Teets, etc. it sounds like you know the deal, but always use the buddy system, cell phones or radios are important.I got knocked out cold years ago, snagged something under the snow and bonked a tree pretty hard, no helmet, big hemotoma on my femur the size of a football. Broken bones in the backwoods, no good. My buddy was on skis close enuf behind me to hear the crunch I've even had ski patrol show us some good stuff, under the radar:rolleyes: "We didn't show you ANY of this, OK ?":rolleyes: O. K.;) and TGR is some good comedy on a daily basis, alot of really hardcore ski nuts/wiseguys
