Mr.E
The old versions didn't have the plastic. I'd not be particularly concerned about the plastic, but I would be concerned about what caused the break. Is the aluminum plate looking ok?

Exchanged on warranty, however I concur with Mr E - wouldnt be worried if plate is all right.
Carvin' Marvin
I’ve had three sets do that. It does not effect the ride or safety at all since that ring bears no load. The only important part of that ring is the part that goes between the block and the aluminum plate. That section should be inspected for cracks and replaced as necessary.
Kneel
Must have been the blue ones as mine cracked after 3 days of riding. This was back in 2018ish when they first released that color. I continued to use them anyway...
pow4ever
awesome feedback! thank you all. Doesn't sounded like it's isolated incident. the stamp steel/aluminum ring are just fine. Was trying to figure out is it a technique issue or i should cut down on number of donuts before hitting the slope
Mr.E
Never cut down on donuts. 1
