Mig
I have been using the Smith Knee Gaskets for many years now. They have eliminated the pain I used to have while riding, which started when I hit the 40s. They are neoprene and have some gel padding around the knee cap. They keep my knees super warm, well supported and protected. Love them and cannot go riding without them. https://www.smithsafetygear.com/collections/skate/products/knee-gasket-black Edited March 14, 2018 by Mig
Corey
I got my Rehbands at Rogue. Note that they're sold individually. Not cheap anywhere! Good call putting them over long johns, thanks! 315 lbs:

daveo
BTW- the trick to putting them on is to put them on inside out and upside down, then fold the bottom up over your knee so the long johns don't bunch up :)

It's was just what was available at physical therapy....... I wrestled HW high school and college (which is surely part of my achy knee problem) and am intimate with the squat rack.......... Don't need that amount of weight anymore. I do like how the dumbbells held close to the chest center the exercise in my core and knees........it is different ....or maybe t's just my achy shoulders appreciate not having to reach to center the barbell on your shoulders, like when your squatting with an Olympic barbell ?? daveo
Interesting. I wonder if front squats would facilitate something similar in this regard.

See if there are any structural damage on cartilages, ligaments, and underlying bone and take it from there. You could have knocked this thread on the head after the first response. Internet riding advice is spotty, let alone the medical variety. Get a referral, get an MRI and a consult with a specialist. Then you’ll know what you’re dealing with and can build from there.
