two_ravens
As we are preparing to load test lifts at our little ski area here in Pinedale, can't help but "remember the Eskimo". Yeah, we don't want it to go down like this....
jp1
Oooops , I think I may work with the people running that test. I hate when they 'inadvertantly' use the wrong stop button ........
Corey
Ok, mental note: if chair is going backwards quickly, it's probably best to get off before you reach the base station. Cool but terrifying video!
kieran
i wonder, do detachable cable-grip systems operate correctly in reverse?
Johnny
That's awesome!
SunSurfer
Looks like a great concept for a terrifying fun park ride if you could get the engineering right! The whip round as the chairs make the turn would be wicked!
two_ravens
Kieran, I too have wondered what a detachable would do. We'll be testing 2 fixed grip triples, so if things get that bad, it won't really be any new information - just a new experience.
www.oldsnowboards.com
Nothing a little paint won't fix. <iframe width="640" height="480" src="//www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/u4WPSZojtyE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
two_ravens
Nothing a little paint won't fix. Incredible that they had it operational the next day for more testing after that roll back test.... Not that I would be volunteering to ride it! slopestar
I did lift maintenance for several years. A little sheave grease goes a long way...

dingbat
I did lift maintenance for several years. A little sheave grease goes a long way... Yeah it does. All the way down the bail and onto the back of your jacket.:D
powdahbonz
If I experienced either of those, I would be first in line for a new splitboard and skins. That is scary stuff. Back in the news, one of the injured skiers at Sugarloaf has lodged another suit against Boyne. Apparently resolved his daughters claims and their settlement but going back for more. snowboardfast
Too scary. I have always had respect for anyone that runs the lifts and works on them to keep them safe. Well worth your lift ticket price just for this not to mention other work that is done at ski areas to make them safer.
