Guest
How is Mount Snow? I've only ever been to Stratton (my favorite so far) and Killington. Mount Snow is closer to me (coming from PA/NJ), and lift tickets/size of the mountain seem to be similar to Stratton. A buddy and I are thinking about hitting it up March 16th, and I would appreciate any comments/complaints about the mountain. Any nice wide groomers worth doing? Or should we consider another mountain? :D Thanks everyone Nick
WhiteHorse
I like Mt Snow. The lower mountain has runs that are very similar to those on the lower mtn at Stratton. I'm a guy that's just starting to "really get the hang of it" this year. Old pros may have a different opinion.
scrapster
Nice hill. It can get crowded on weekends with all those bums driving up from...oh, wait . Snowdance has always been a favorite of mine, especially in the spring. Do yourself a favor and bang a left off of Rt 91 onto Rt 2 west at Greenfield, MA and then a right on Colrain-Shelburne Rd/Rt 112 to Rt. 100 in VT. It's more direct and a nicer drive.
Guest
thanks for the tips! Yeah nice wide blues are fine, a wide black diamond with good conditions also works. It's funny, spring riding is kind of interesting - at least here, you can see how many seasoned riders are actually at the mountain by the amount of parking spots left during peak hours. For example, if conditions are terrible, I feel like most good riders just pack it up, so even at peak times there will be a smattering of parking spots here and there. Anyways, my point: I think maybe there's a spring exodus of people/bums from down here that head up to VT. Can't say I'm not one of them! WhiteHorse
I'm planning to go to Mt Snow on Friday. Anybody else going? *Ace*
I bought a $12 ticket online to Mt Snow for Tuesday December 12. Has anyone been there at all this year? How is VT this year for early season conditions? I wish they would get some help from mother nature...
WhiteHorse
I was there on Sunday. No crowd and about 4-5 trails top to bottom, include a run on the North Face. I rode 2 slopes off of Canyon trail. Both good carvers. Snow was all man made. firm and hard under the overnight snowmaking. Scrapped off by 2. Still a pretty good day. Bonus boy
I will be at Mount Snow this Saturday, January 27. I am just a hardbooter "wanna-be" but would love to meet up with anyone who is coming just so I can take a look at the gear in person and see what it is I'm reading about. Youtube and discussion boards only go so far...
billyt.
Check in at the ski shop in the base lodge. Tom the ski tech, rides alpine and maybe you can make some runs. I will be there next weekend, or mid week if snows. Have a good one.

billyt.
Mt Snow got some nice snow6-8 inches on Monday with sun shining later in the day. Really nice conditions with lots of powder stashes. Wednesday snow fall looks good!
teach
Anyone have recent Mt Snow condition report? What kind of coverage? Is grooming OK? What are the good wide green or blue runs?
WhiteHorse
https://www.mountsnow.com/our-media/live-cams/ That's a link to Mt Snow web cams. You can see something for yourself. I check it every day but haven't been there in a few weeks. There's a bunch of good wide runs on the lower mountain. Canyon. Snow Dance, Lower Exhibition, Coopers Junction. From the top there's Upper Exhibition, Long John, South Bowl.

Bob L.
Mt. Snow is reporting 27 inches in the past 24 hours... Maybe that means something other than 27", but it still has to be amazing. Anyone going to be there tomorrow?
Eric Brammer aka PSR
It's true! They got hammered twice in a week! And the North side was still good Before those storms... Saturday's weather caused 3 tractor-trailers to jack-knife or wreck ( while using chains! ) on Rt 9. My 31 yr. Old Saab, sans chains, had no probs, even on unplowed dirt roads (14" of fluff).
billyt.
Had my daughter with me when we left on Wednesday early afternoon. The roads got progressively worse as we went south, but mostly just wet. At the 91/95 junction, it was snowing very wet and hard. Had to keep pulling over to keep windshield clean. I wish we could have stayed for the Big powder day, but just like last year's dump, the mountain was not ready for it. They had some issues with lifts? Hoping to get back there this week. billyt.
Just back from two awesome days of deep powder riding. Some of the drifted snow on some trails was waist deep! Nice and light too. Hope you get some.
WhiteHorse
I'm heading to Mt Snow on Friday. 11/30. ! Anyone else?
WhiteHorse
Going back to Mt Snow on Wed 12/5. Bluebird forecast! Come on out! Last Friday was great. Tons of new snow. Trails covered edge to edge and into the woods! It looks like February.
billyt.
Two days of solid riding with this past snowfall. Still hardpack "ICE" as a base because of all the recent rain freeze. they do a great job resurfacing the trails, especially with some natural snow in the mix.
