Ski Boots

re: Tecnica, just thinking of something on the wide side. Wish I could go Dalbello Krypton, but my Dad's look narrower than a ski.

I just need something in which to ski with the kids. Skidding an alpine snowboard around at kid speeds is dumb. Not looking to come out of NASTAR retirement or anything.

Derek, that would be great. Heading up to Portland any time this week?

If they fit, go with the Lange. The Banshee was more or less the classic Lange shell, probably a bit wider in front, probably a 110/120 flex. Ramp is on the high side, but easy to modify when necessary. Enough boot to get you there in one piece if you find yourself late for lunch and far away.

No 'performance' boot should have a cable or strap across the ankle junction. Important tendon activity in that area affecting 'dexterity', which can easily be blocked in the quest for 'heel hold down'.

There are better ways to secure the foot.
