kieran
i bet riding a motorbike side-saddle would give you a similarly asymmetrical turn experience as hardboot carving does. where's the full-speed clip? ;)
trailertrash
that is a bowel cleansing experience for 99.9% of the worlds population.
BobD
Isle of Man TT course has a lot of that. There's an airborne transition as well, taking off leaning one way and landing leaning the other. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7H6f9PVwk?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7H6f9PVwk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
kieran
i think sidecar pillions may be the most bonkers class of person, in the world.
GeoffV
The track is Cadwell in England. TT races side cars as well. BobD I've seen the TT races several times on TV. The speed the racers hit on that Island is amazing. There is one turn when the come over the knoll get air and need to set up for another turn right after it. John McGuinness is the man:cool:
Beckmann AG
Thanks for the clip, Geoff. I'm going to incorporate that into early season staff training.
BobD
John McGuinness is man:cool: Mike Hailwood was the man in my MC days. No shifting the butt around for him (maybe a little knee wagging). Barry Sheen et al have a lot to answer for ;)
LeeW
Mine is David Jefferies. A giant, he is. I got 2005 or so DVD of the IOMTT. Mein Gott, it's totally insane, and I have an intention to attend IOMTT in person one of these days. Here's David Jefferies. I so love the humming sound of the bike! EDIT: Hmm, I couldn't embed the said link. :-/
Allee
i think sidecar pillions may be the most bonkers class of person, in the world. I have always wanted to swing a sidecar. The ground rush from having your face an inch off the tarmac would be AMAZING. If I ever get an offer to go around the track, I'd be all over it. Lee, I'm so with you. My ex husband and I actually looked into it one year, but it was too expensive travelling from NZ. Now I'm closer ... how did I let that fall off the list of places to go?? kieran
i like the footage they get from near the end of any long straight, where all the bikes in the same class are redlined and the intakes are screaming at the same pitch. the whine of a honda V4 is pretty awesome. as is the frob-frob of pretty much any ducati or aprilia.
