b0ardski
I saw a sign for downhill skiing while driving thru Iowa once; was flabbergasted by the flattest of horizons in all directions. https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16§or=pnw&band=11&length=48http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~ovens/wxloop.cgi?mm5d1_slp+//84/3 Edited February 24, 2019 by b0ardski
bjvircks
A couple years back I got to know a guy who moved here from a mountian state where he did a lot of skiing. We told him about Sundown Mountain, our 'local' area (1 1/2 hrs away). One weekend we got a frantic phonecall from him asking "Where the *(^&*( is the MOUNTAIN???" He had driven out to where the place is but couldn't find it. He was right at it but it was still invisible. The 'mountain' is actually the side of a small valley cut by a Mississippi tributary. We still joke about 'Where's the mountian?'

Just when I am trying to get ready to think about transitioning to doing .......something else. Snow in the forecast six of the next 7 days down here......doh. Just a general bump for thread awesomeness. I came here first to try to see where the moisture coming from. Looks to slide north of us, so I would not pack up your powder stick yet Troy.
