Corey
Wii Fit has a GS snowboarding race. It's more about finely moving your balance than snowboarding.
KingCrimson
too bad these games dont feature alpine boards anymore... i miss SSX tricky! Rear foot at 0*, SCR in 40m range..Hardly alpine in either of those games.
Gleb
I hope they improve on SSX 3/On tour The only game that i know of that had true alpine boards was cool boarders 2. Still have it somewhere. Cool boarders here we go!!
KingCrimson
They ran 0* on the rear foot though. And there was an asym you could unlock. I was playing that game earlier today.
kjl
The only game that i know of that had true alpine boards was cool boarders 2. Still have it somewhere. The first SSX had alpine boards, and the stance looked right and if I am remembering right, riding fakey even looked right. They even had specialized grabs for the alpine boards because the stance angles were so different. What a great game that was.
Gecko
Tricky had Alpine and fakie is rough on them...pretty much auto revert
Gleb
was the first ssx good? ssx 3 was mind-blowingly awesome. Couldn't put that game down.
photodad2001
We have the technology, we just need someone to put it together. Take a carpet run, put it into tredmill form to make the run as long as you could imagine with speed sensors that keep you in the center of the carpet, then place sensors that project you into the game and you're virtually snowboarding. Throw in some virtual goggles, turn on the ac and there ya go! It'd be great for all year riding, and a good beginners tool.
tex1230
Wii fit snowboarding sucks - regular foot only - f**ks my balance up
KingCrimson
Just turn the Wii Fit upside down. It'll work.
kjl
was the first ssx good? ssx 3 was mind-blowingly awesome. Couldn't put that game down. Aside for the fact that all the courses were sort of "connected" in that you could ride from the end of the race course to the start of one of the trick courses, ssx3 might be my least favorite of the series. SSX 1 or Tricky was probably the best. The main problem with 3 was that it was too easy to get off course and get the automatic reset to warp you back to the main run. In ssx, if you saw a gap in the rocks or a little incline that looked out of place, it was always a hidden jump or shortcut that would either save you time or at least look really awesome. Better level design in general, and, as mentioned before, alpine boards!
Gleb
I really liked how you could ride for a half hour straight and see the weather and condition changes throughout the run. The flashiness of the graphics was pretty sweet too. One thing I never got the sense of is speed, like in some sections of Coolboarders 2 where you hit 89 mph and then could stop and turn on a dime as long as you use the square. Good times. Coolboarders 3 was completely different and I remember loving that game too. They had slalom on it too. Plus, the tricks were infinitely easier to do than in the 2nd one.
