Hans
Just take care of your skin with a greasy sunblock or else and you will be fine. Wear a helmet and goggles.
Seraph
never really needed it here in Colorado but this is the shiz: http://www.amazon.com/Talus-Outdoor-Technologies-ColdAvenger-Mask/dp/B001SARMZW/ref=pd_sbs_a_53 Keeps the warm air in, doesn't get all wet and nasty. zoltan
Just take care of your skin with a greasy sunblock or else and you will be fine. Wear a helmet and goggles. I don't like this for several reasons: it's not comfortable, I don't like greasy skin, and my skin is still cold. Here are pictures:

Neil Gendzwill
Just take care of your skin with a greasy sunblock or else and you will be fine. !MaineCarver!
Personally I ride with a POC receptor hemet crowbar goggles a buff (like the ones on survivor) and my jacket zipped all the way up and I am fine. I have ridden this way in -35 degree Fahrenheit in Maine.

Europeans' idea of what is cold and North Americans' idea are somewhat different. I think you are right. The lowest temp I was in, was -18 degrees Celsius with 2,5 beaufort windspeed. Average is between -4 / -12 celsius what I normally ride. I think you guys have lower temps.
Pat Donnelly
Picked up one of these the other day in Destin, FL at a UA outlet store. http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/pid8000022-ColdGear-Hood/8000022-

I think us over here in the states have days that are colder than what you guys have but, I think Europe (Zermatt in particular) has a more of a consistent low temperature. I was over in Zermatt for the thanksgiving vacation and I was colder (the whole time I was out there) than I am here in New England in December. Mr.E
Grow a beard, let it ice over. I also use a plain jane wool scarf- variable wrap, modular fit and excellent breathablity. Is that techy enough for a scarf?

Just picked up one of these. Not usually cold enough to need one here in socal, but every once in a blue moon it can be quite chilly and windy. I never liked the clamy feeling of the neoprene masks, and this seems like a great compromise. At least I hope so. Will post a report when I finally get to try it out. tahoetrencher
for post #30 That was worth the weight. Hey Zoltan Looking out my window I must ask Does it have a snorkel attachment? :)
energyrail
well up here in the great white north, when you have to bare -25 or more for the best powder days. I where a a neck warmer, the tight elastic ones that stay up good. Sometimes i have to change it at lunch for a dry one.

Once it starts pushing towards -30 it's just not that fun IMO.
