I bought some used suzukas, which have been very comfortable and responsive, except that I noticed my front (left) quad burning at low angles. Looked at the boot today and, lo and behold, the left boot is canted outwards. This leads me to a few questions:

1) The cant bolt is completely stripped. Do I have to use a dremel or something to destroy it, or is there another way to get it out?

2) Anyone got a cuff cant assembly lying around? They seem to be sold out at the Bomber store.

3) I figure some inward cant should compensate for the outward boot cant until I can replace the assembly, but I'm home for the holidays with my freeride board, and left my burton cant plates up in Oregon. Would it make sense to ride higher angles so that my left knee isn't pulled so far away from my right?

Given that Bomber doesn't have the replacement cant assemblies I would advise doing whatever it takes to get that bolt out without damaging the rest of the assembly. I've got EasyOuts in all kinds of sizes if you ever make it to Bend I can help you with this. I do have one extra cant assembly but given my history of breaking them (so far one of the adjustable cants and two of the non-adjustable ones on a pair of boots with 75 days on them) I really need to keep it.

If you are successful and removing the bolt I have some replacement bolts with 4mm allen heads that you could have.

The end of the original screw is riveted over on the end making it near impossible to remove. I use a dremel tool to grind the end of the screws off, then remove them. On my last pair, as soon as I was satisfied with where I wanted the cants, I took the adjusters apart and cut up a nylon washer to fill the voids inside the adjusters so they wouldn't be able to move and strip out the ridges. Works kind of like the epoxy fix but, not as permanent. I also used new allen head screws and a washer. I had to do something similar on the UPZ's I had. On them I used new screws and a dime with a hole in it worked as a washer.

I think trikerdad is talking about a different boot, the Le Mans and the SB series boots

I have AF series boot and to adjust the alingment at all you have to take out a screw and a piece of plastic, there absolutley no way these can be riveted at because that would make the boot a single posistion boot
