  1. So you've got your revenge ? I've been hardbooting from 1991 and switched for softies 3 years ago, I consider myself as an Alpine snowboarder since I (nearly) do the same things now with my current setup. So should I go on another community and learn how to make a mistyflip on a skate banana ? I don't post often because of my bad English (I'm french) but I read BOL almost everyday, hardbooting or sofbooting topics, and you tell to guys like me to go somewhere else with my softies ? I won't. Oh wait a minute, was it a joke ?
  2. YES or NO, whatever, but keep on talking about Softboot Carving.
  3. Ok, it's a race oriented brand, but those boards look ugly to me. By far not as important as performance, but they look ugly. Kesslers' or Apexs' topsheets seem to have almost no graphic design (in fact they have), but they look fast !
  4. My Burton PJ 4.9, ridiculously short board and the funniest toy on icy steep slopes. Sold for about nothing, lots of regrets.
  5. Yes, because Catek's got a unique base plate system for their harboots and sofboots bindings. I'm talking about "mainstream" softboots bindings like Burton or Flux. I'm not sure that Sflex would fit with those. I may be wrong but I won't pay $500 to give it a try with my C60.
  6. Since half of the F2 board range is Performance Softboots oriented, yes, they should provide a larger Sflex for softboots bindings. It's the first direction I watched when starting searching for plates/risers, end they got nothing.
  7. Sorry, MUD was faster than me.
  8. Here : http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=26194&page=3 Well, it's the Korc's board, he was talking about it a few posts ago.
  9. No Ursle, it was something with a ±25 cm waist width. Trying to find it…
  10. Ha ha, I've just bought Palmer risers from a BOL member to put on my Eliminator and I'm really optimist about it's carving abilities. I've seen someone here posting an interesting soft boots board from coiler or prior several days ago, a BX board, like a twintip with short nose and tail, but can't find it now.
  11. @Cork Do you have pictures of your Prior BX Board ? I've searched a BX board on the Prior website but couldn't find it. Is it a custom board ? Sorry for the guy who started the thread, but we have same interests.
  12. For 2010, F2 released a F2 Eliminator World Cup 165, with titanal. According to the F2 website the brutale is another board. The new Eliminator has a Vario Camber feature, probably a decambered nose and tail "à la Kessler".
  13. Just bought a 09/10 157 Eliminator ltd and I'm pretty sure there's no titanal in it. The World Cup 165 has got titanal (They call it Titanium construction) but it's the only one in the Eliminator range, and it's a rare board. The shape is slightly different too.
  14. Dupra, ignore the "z". And if you go to Avoriaz, you'd better ignore the "z" too.

    Oxbow snowboard

A black 183 symetric Oxbow board, that's weird. Oxbow used to make colorfull topsheets, they produced a few symetric boards the two or three last years of production but certainly not that long, also that nose is really long. Is it the original topsheet ? I'm not sure but it's probably a custom race board, or a prototype…
  16. Oxbow (built by Grand Chavin like Hot) Atlantis Peach Liquid Farmer
  17. Thank you all for your answers. Well, obviously I wasn't clear enough in my description, Nidecker and Oxygen, like Volkl, old burton FP, UP, Speed, F2 RS, Rossignol, Hot Blast, and lot more boards can be found in France at great prices. And I've ridden many of them. I'd like something different, I'm curious about Madd, Coiler, Donek, Prior… Pokkis, thank you for the link, this is what I'm looking for, I'll probably ask you some help if I find something in my weight range. 18. Hi all, I'm 5'7", 155 lbs, 7,5 US, and 35 years old. I used to be an agressive alpine rider and now riding softies (Santa Cruz Duo GLX 159 + Burton C60 + Burton ion) in French Alps. Still have Catek OS2 and hardboots with a Volkl RT158 for tights turns on ice. I'm looking for a long alpine board (170cm+) that I can use with moderate angles (50° max for front foot). It would be my speed cruising board, nice edge hold, stable and damp, comfortable at moderate/high speed for non-crowded days. Alpine market is almost dead in France (I don't want a Swoard or a F2) and longer boards are easier to find on BOL. I don't want a new board since I'm not sure to ride it a lot. So if you got something I should like and if you are ok to send it to France, let me know. Thank you Pegtal
  19. Those Air series already had the 3D insert pattern and I don't understand why the bindings are screwed like that on the board.
  20. I've got Burton C60 bindings and Burton Ion boots on a Santa Cruz Duo GLX 159 and ride +6/-3. It feets me perfectly. I started from +18/+12 but really felt uncomfortable and powerless. In the case of Burton C60 and probably a lot more soft bindings, I think they're designed to work with very moderate angles. I felt the loss of carbon highbacks benefits with higher angles and couldn't find the perfect Boots/Bindings compatibility. So I'd say +12 max on the front… and I wouldn't try to look forward hardboots settings to feel more comfortable and efficient but improve my softboots carving technic skills. That's a personal experience so it may not work for everyone.
  21. Dark Series are the stiffest boards in the Lib Tech range. Mine is a 05/06 Magne Traction (First year of MT) and is not stiff…
  22. This is my current board, and you can clearly see the wavy sidewalls and edges on the pictures. I don't like it, it's a weird ride, I don't feel secure. It works great for quick turns at low and medium speed, but doesn't hold an edge on long turns at high speed. I can feel the edges hook the snow and release several times during a turn, it's like having 50cm long edges between the legs and nothing on tip and tail. This is not a soft boots carving board. And I probably didn't get the trick to handle it well. Anyway, bought a more classical Duo GLX.
