I had something similar happen one day while I was patrolling. I got called to an incident on one of our expert slopes. I rolled up on scene and it was a circus. Little girl laying in the snow crying, mom trying to calm her. Her dad was just about to drop the gloves with a 14 yr old snowboarder and his buddy. One of them hit the little girl when she suddenly moved into the trail from the place she had been stopped. It looked like a ski gear bomb went off. There was crap everywhere. I quickly checked to see if the girl was ok. She was just scared and not really injured. Then I had to go keep dad from whipping the kid. Luckily he backed down when I mentioned possible jail time for assualt. It was pretty tense for a few minutes. I was glad that I was much bigger than any of them had it come to blows. I was sure happy to see other patrollers show up too. Good times, Good times. ________ Almma cam

Good points Bob, I was just curious if it was an easy bolt on possibility. I wouldn't want to do it if it required significant modifications. Obviously if something went wrong it would be your responibility in either case. One think that I noticed after looking at pictures online was that you would lose several degrees of adjustability in the heel piece. The TD2 heel blocks and intec receivers allow the sole length to be moved in small incremnents around the bolt. With the Physics recievers there is only one hole which probably wouldn't work that well all boot sizes. Maybe I'll give some thought to the intecs. Thanks ________ Leather live

Does anyone know if the Burton Physics heel setup can be mounted on TD2's or OS2's? The reason I ask is that I really like the Physics step-ins but I'd like to go to a more solid and adjustable binding. I know both have the option of using Intecs but with recent events I'm not sure I trust them. Especially since I'm a pretty big guy at about 6'3" and around 250 lbs. So, does anyone know the dimensions, center to center, on the heel recievers for Intec on either of these bindings? At my size should I be concerned about the Intecs failing if properly adjusted? My first board was a K2 Fatbob 166 with crappy Universal bindings and Airwalk Extreme Boots. Think it as a 95 model, olive green with red and yellow logos. I really liked that board because it was wide enough for my big feet unlike most rental gear. My first alpine board was a Liquid Arc 164 that I got from a local shop for $60. Mounted a set of Burton Step in race plates on it from a ski swap and got hooked on carving. I still have that board but I busted a toe bail on the race plates and replaced them with some Burton Race Physics. ________ Electronic Cigarettes

I agree with you that they seem to be molded into the boot sole. They look like a standard tee nut but there appears to be a small lip of plastic molded over the outside edge of the nut. I suppose I could try to attack one with the dremel and see if that would allow it to be pounded out. Otherwise the best bet is probably chasing the threads to 6 mm. One other thing that may be happening it that only the bolt threads are stripping and not the insert itself. Its kind of difficult to see inside the insert to get a good look at the threads. In that case a better quality bolt may solve the problem. I'll let you guys know what I find out. ________ Medical marijuana

Does anyone know if the Tee Nuts in the heel of Raichle 413's are replaceable? I stripped one out. I tried to knock it out from the outside of the boot but it seems to be very fond of the boot and wouldn't come out. It almost looks like it is molded into the plastic but I can't tell for sure. If I do get it out is it better to replace it with a 6mm bolt and tee nut since the 5mm stripped so easily? Thanks. ________ VAPORIZERGENIE.COM
