  1.        welcome back! you're a funny guy, you amuse me mario
  2. My first day was like this: Toeside edge of trail and fall, heelside to trees and fall. repeat, repeat annnnnd repeat for 1.5 hrs. Took brief respite and figured it out. I still fall but not as much. mario
  3. I would love to, but unfortunately work does not always allow it. C'mon dive bomber, I dare, no, I double dog dare you to come out and play with us this sat, you won't have to drive, and you can nap on the way up It'll be fun mario
  4. Suddenly there were 7 of us, 4 bol'ers, Dt, Inkaholic, snowboardsfast(welcome back!) and myself, joined by lovey regulars Shelly, Bob, and his son Jeff. Due to a lift malfunction, we found ourselves with a semi private slope, which we proceeded to carve up like thanksgiving turkey. It was a dream come true, nearly perfect groom, sunny blue skies, pleasent temps, and no wind. I included a picture of the carnage left by the aforementioned band of carving hooligans, and another catching three of them in the act(Bottom to top: Inkaholic, D.T., and Snowboardsfast) mario
  5. Gotta luv rednecks, they can find a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, usually involving excessive horsepower. My previous post was paying homage to hank hill, as in "the boy ain't right" :D mario
  6. funny, but that just aint right
  7. Doneks tend to be on the stiff side,my '77axxes is a 7, and my '79 fcII is an 8.5 I am 240, and I have not folded the nose on it in 10 days of riding so far. I think you'd be okay going with the med flex. Mike T is about 190 and has been riding doneks for years, you might want to pm him with any questions. mario
  8. Hey Derek, We keep running into pat up there, but I haven't seen you yet. I would like to make some turns with you this season. Pete's in argentina, so the crew has been down a member. I will be up on sunday and I think D.t. and Shelly will be up there to. mario
  9. Laughter and insane giggling from D.T. and myself after a tele skier hit one of my " tanker trap trenches" and biffed underneath us. Of course I apologized to said skier for leaving such a berm, to which we proceeded to giggle even more. mario
  10. I have an older 179fcII(03) and a brandy new 177 axxes, and at 240 they are plenty stiff tip to tail and are a blast to ride, the axxes being a little more forgiving than the fc. I can bend the axxes, which is a 7 on seans scale, but it is still stiff enough on soft snow to blow out a carve if you are not paying attention and really drive it. They both hold like crazy, especially if you inadvertantly end up in the back seat :o. My opinion may be biased, but I think it is well worth giving sean a call Support small vendors! mario
  11. I would love a porkroll egg and cheese on a hard roll right now. the things we give up for snow!!
  12. I have td2's on my 87, and it does rail. mario
  13. great topic and I'll take all of the help and insight I can get. Only 2 more days 'till I ride again mario
  14. I would love to hit wolfie with you rdy, but it is just alittle too far for a weekend jaunt., and I am almost out of vacation days. We get it, you don't like to ride on the weekend. So you are heading to vail on an epic midweek powder day to ride your broken volant (see ride board)on the groom. I am slightly confused. Oh well, enjoy that anyway. mario
  15. Pat, I still have the option of hitting lovey if it sucks at copper, its on my way home and i am a pass holder. I have the free ticket from off the grid and this looks like the only time I will have the opportunity to use it. Thanks for the heads up, and I do loath that shuttle
  16. Willy I liked your link to Toms story about Dr scott. My only concern though is every time I ride with him(Dr Scott) I end up taking a spectacular and memorable digger that usually ends my day. I am heading to copper on friday to use up my Warren Miller ticket mario
  17. on hero snow coming up to a midway reload point I cranked a serious toeside A couple of skiers were watching from the lift, and as thier chair passed me one of them said " duuude, props for that laid out turn, that was sweeeeeet!!" I said "thank you, thankyouverymuch" mario
  18. On a powder day under 8 at loveland layin' out big ol' lazy gs turns in the deep on my tanker and then hitting the groom at mach 1 and diggin' deep ol' trenches on the same run. One of my favorite ways to spend a saturday. I started skiing 25 years ago at vernon valley and camelback, and I in no way miss that east coast "packed powder" mario
  19. no loveland pass this year? mario
  20. Sorry, already booked 4 days at the st moritz for ses. Can't beat the price,49 bucks a night plus tax for a place to crash. :D mario ps. dt, i aint feedin' it!
