    JR plates

Kirk, whats the sole length on a 22.5 boot? I might have something... Any need for a JR board? Still debating selling a 141 Mistral I have.

I'll pass on the solo binding, but keep me in mind if the garage leads to more.
  3. Back from the dead with this one- Every few years i start to wonder if everything I've been doing is good for me. This includes binding angles on multiple boards. Last season i tried backing my angles down and found that, as expected, I didn't like it and felt like I lost control on turn initiation. I ride about 55 to 60 front and 50-55 rear, with the expetion of my pow boards that I turn the back doen to about 45. Assuming most of us are riding Bombers and Cateks, does it really matter if our toes are over the edge? In reality, its still the size of the disc doing the pressuring in the same 5-6" radius, regardless of binding angle. Now, Burtons, Pro-flexes and other direct mount bindings may be diffrent, but with the burly interface, i can't see how it makes a diffrence, nor can I feel it in regards to edge pressure.
  4. You do the same thing I do when I poop, pull em down. I've tried wrist guards, Level gloves (ech), full face helmets, padded shorts, kneww pads and various assorted race (ski and board, not MX) armor. After limited success, changes to my mobility and the hasal factor, I'm down to a good, non full faced helmet. My wrists and arms get ust as banged up with guards as not, kneww pads slip and rotate during falls, and padded shorts never seemed to help with normal carving/freeriding. I've considered a turtle shell, but wonder if it will be another piece of gear I just don't wear.

Race plate- if thats "one pair" I'll take it. If its one half a pair, I'll pass.
  6. I used to run an old boeri with a chin guard and visor. They were both attached with screws and had enlongated slots, so that if they caught they "broke away" and adjusted. I stopped using chin guards when they became more integrated and less likely to pull away. I also like having students be able to see my face when I teach. :D
  7. Sounds like you want a race board, maybe a "freecarve" board. I think the WCR's are right up that alley. I once sold my freeride deck and my race board for a 4wd. End of that season I sold the 4wd for a freeride board and a race board. I now have the freeride, a giant Coiler carver and several race boards, but never felt the need for another 4wd. Just my experience.
  8. Hmmm- I'm picking up skiing as an effort to learn skills I've always struggles with on a snowboard, namely deep wet mank and bumps. I'm also interested to see what a 180 plank (BD Verdict) with a 30m sidecut rides like. Used skis are WAY cheaper then going for a custom super g board I might hate.... Oh, and after being Off skis for 10 or 12 years, I thought "what the heck".
  9. I can get my GS decks to work in powder, but I wouldn't suggest it. I took a HS trip to Italy, and ran a Proton down the backside of Courmayeur into Chamonix. Sucked, and made me relize I was never going to ruin a world class trip by choosing foolishly. Rent a freeride the day before, and have the kid practice. He'll appreciate it. If he can rock a GS course, he can at least try a freeride board and then decide for himself.
  10. Thread says it all. I'd like a shot of the front and rear mounting holes for a conshox, specifically what inserts are threaded and which ones are through drilled and slotted. I forgot to pull a tracing of mine when I sold it. Thanks guys, Eric
  11. Just saw the Wasatch at a ski swap the other day. Seemed fairly stiff for a swallow. I'd buy one if I wanted another (My 185 Undertaker does me just fine). Great contender for a split conversion, but I have no $$ for that at the moment. If anyone can't push the 185 Undertaker through trees, they shouldn't be in trees. I put one of my soft boot students, who is a 150 lb high school kid (with ok skills at best) on that board and he ripped without a problem. My concern is that it almost turns to much with lots of pressure from me. I think anyone on this board could ride one in most conditions, though I have other boards i would rather ride in mank.
  12. No offense meant, but that board is what, 10 years old? I'm cheap I guess.
  13. Blizzard Yahoo Ski's, never mounted or used. These are 130cm long and quite wide skis that I purchased before I bought my split. These are adult skis with adult sized cores in a short length. Originally designed as hard carving skis, I bought em to use as shortish approach skis that could still "ski" as well as skin. I planned to mount them with AT bindings or a Voile kit to make them interchangable with my split, but need money for other things. Price includes raw skins, meaning they are just the skins in need of clips. Asking $115 shipped in the US. Email for a pic.
  14. Thanks Tex, I'm solid in the boot dept at the moment, and these are to big anyway. There must be someone gearing up for the "offseason".
  15. Pay, I tried emailing you with no response. Let me know. Still interested in a slalom-esque stick or something in the 170 range. Mostly interested in approx. 10-13m sidecuts, 163-175 range, but open to other offers.
  16. I just hit their homepage and they have a racer in the gates. The trail i was talking about is Smith off of the Ramrod Quad. Tiger, Cannonball and Redhat on the skiers left of the hill are called black runs and are fun, faster carvers as well. Can't remember any of the summit trails well enough to comment, but I had two nearly 200 day seasons there. Wow....
  17. That was my home mountain growing up (from Laconia originally). My perspective is skewed a bit since moving west to OR, WA, then UT. Its a bit on the small side, depending on what you are used to, but for free its a fun hill. I still pay for it every couple of years when I get back to visit the folks during the winter. Its been long enough I'm blanking on the trail names, but the race course is fun if a little narrow, and there is a blue groomer off the main lift to skiers left that is somewhat short, but really wide. The best part, if they still have it, is the noon groom, when they rotate over the whole hill at noon. I think they groom at about 4 for the night skiing as well. I'd bring something in the 160-170cm range to really utilize the place, but have ridden a 186 there with sucess, just makes the runs feel a bit shorter.
  18. I've owned one. I weighed about 170 at the time, and I think its a bit soft, particularly the nose. No taper either, not my bag. I was going to mount a plate to it, but sold it instead. I think with a plate it would have been fun, or on icy days. I'd say it was softer then the 190 WC Rossi's for reference.
  19. I've only ever been on one board I think I'd be comfortable to try this on, but it should be interesting. Post pics!
  20. I have one with an 18cm waist and WC construction, a bit older and a wee bit softer (I think). My first long board and by far and away my favorite still. Rip it up! Hmmm...maybe I'll bring mine out tomorrow.
  21. No time like the present! Let me know if you change yer mind
  22. Interested in trading for a Comet SL skateboard? bamboo and carbon with Trackers and Hyper/Seismic wheelset. Summer cross training to the 10th. http://tinypic.com/fkd3s9.jpg
