  1. Liners are Dual Density- $160 shipped in the US
  2. Depends on how big you are, how big your board is, and what the weather gives you in Whistler. Demo a Prio Pow Stick while your are there, and buy it if you need it. Otherwise, the Donek should be fine for most days out there if its sized well.
  3. I keep about 60 in the front for turn initiation, but back the rear down to 45 for leverage.
  4. I have an Incline from a few years ago. I asked Sean to beef up the insert area a bit and max the torsional stiffness as much as he felt comfortable with as I would be using it excusivly with Bombers and Cateks. He said no problem, and its holding together great. Zack- The 164 has been my mainstay off-piste board. Great in steeps. I picked up the Mtn. Gun 171, hope it can meet the same standard

  7. bump How bout I pay shipping, or take off $20 for local buyers.
  8. Brand new SBH boots with standard liner, size 26.5. Great freeride/ splitboard/ softer flexing boot option. $100 Brand new, never molded Intuition thermofit liners size 26 $75 Buy both and I'll include shipping in the US.
  9. Selling my Scarpa Denali's. Good shape, less the a full season on them. Liners look new and come with an upgraded insole (Down-under I think). Selling them because they are just to big for me. Good shape, little wear. I'll post pics soon. $225 plus shipping frm 84105, or I can deliver within the SLC area. Pics can be seen here http://www.splitboard.net/talk/viewtopic.php?t=1188 Will also consider trades for Garmont G-rides in size 26, they just fit my feet better.
  10. Thanks RJ- They look like nice liners, but are shorter then the Raichles by 2 or 3 inches. Nice for folks with three buckle boots, but I'm in the process of adding a 5th upper cuff strap to exten the cuff height.
  11. So I'm trying to save a set of AT boots. Seems even 4 buckle boots have short cuffs in AT world, so I'm doing a fair bit of modification. What company makes the tallest thermo liners? I have a set of Raichles that are a bit taller then my rather old Intuition. Does anybody know how the Black Diamond ones compare? Other options?
  12. If you are clamping Cateks down tight enough to deform or fold the toe bails on Lemans, you are way to tight. That kind of overclamping may well have contributed to the snowpros blowing up. Back em down a bit, and Cateks, Bombers or Phiokkas should be fine. i've not ridden the Phiokka's, but was very tempted by the Emery clone when they still offered alum. toelevers as an upgrade. They no longer list that part, but it may be available...
  13. Another vote for the proton in the 68 or so. I'm assuming you are new to racing? I race one of these in HS. I was a bit heavier then you, but not tons. I liked that I could skid the hell out of it if I was blowing out of a gate, something I have a harder time doing on my current 186. I'm heavier now, not much though. Lots of kids racing on better teams were pushing Rossi's (back when they distributed Bombers) and the like, and I don't think anyone was on a board over 172. I'm using them as weight to height comparisons. For GS I would look at stock equipment as far as good flex for your size, and try to keep the sidecut radius in the 14-16m range for GS. There is a good del on a Hooger in the classifieds, and Prior has a demo 171 at the moment.
  14. As mentioned before, might an alloy heel not just pull from the boot? Moving the weak link so to speak. One migt never know without trying, but that could be rather spendy. I can't imagine F2 would let it happen without a licensing fee at the least.
  15. Seems to me they are just resetting edge bevels, but it is oddly worded. Seems boards would be cheaper considering they don't need to remove and re-install the bindings. But I'm a cheap bastid.
  16. But you still drive your car...
  17. I met a wonderful women in college and have been chasing her ever since. We're married, so its pretty easy to figure out where she is headed. Moved from Portland to Seattle so she could go to grad school. Portlanders couldn't figure it out. We then moved from Seattle to SLC so she could work as a librarian at the U. Portlanders, Seattlites, and probably 95% or everyone else couldn't figure it out. Just by luck I landed my dream job teaching art and outdoor recreation in a private HS. I work three days a week, and I drive through Park City when I do work. My wife will stay content riding her bike the 3 miles to her job while I while away the hours riding 5-7 days a week in some of the best snowboarding on earth. The Portlanders and Seattlites shouldn't have a hard time figuring that one out! ;) We'll stay for a bit I think...
  18. I doubt there is any way of figuring this out, but it would be interesting to see the numbers (% of units) that fail. I've seen heel ledges rip off and broken intec heels. It seems to me as if ledges are a slower, tearing failure vs. the blowing up of the intec part. I don't use em because I like to be able to swap all my boots and parts, and I had a few epic attempts at trying to "step in" in wet cascade cement. I'm done with FAST or Intec untill I move to the east coast (not likely now that I'm in Utah ). I ride intec heels in bails. Stiff heel, reliable interface (in my experience).
  19. If your set up is holding on easier terrain, I'd say leave the set up as is and work on the mental side of your set up. The vast majority of my riding issues re in my head , so I'm leaving the set up as is and woring on the real problems. Well, thats not entierly true, I'm still working on boot fitting, but I don't see that as strictly a technique issue...
  20. Hi All! I'm looking for the AASI Snowboard Manual, Snowboard Movement Analysis Handbook and recent AASI Snowboard Video (no BETA, please). Also interested in recommenations for other"How to teach teenswhothinktheyknowitallandreallydon't " type manuals for sliding down the snow. Yup, I could buy em direct, but with a promising future in instruction, you know I can't afford that! Hmmm. and one more because I can  Thanks guys!
  21. I'm assuming you found a good deal on one? These have been out of production for some time. My wife has one (147cm) and I sold a 152 (I think?) to a friend. A very capable board. Both use hard boots, but the board is soft enough torsionally were i think it would make a decent soft boot carve stick. Still enough tail rise to ride switch if you want to. I'd love to find one in the 160cm range as cheap as I managed the last two to turn into a split board, but they are rare enough now I'm not holding my breath. No experience w/ the F2, but I do beleive the MLY would be great for what you are looking for. If you do have a lead on some of the longer ones, shoot me an email.
  22. Hi guys! I hope to get out this season, last year was horrible for me (1 day!). Sold the MLY, a bit to soft for me, and it overlapped with my Coiler and 24/7 (Ross deck, hehehehehe). Sold it to buy and engagment ring, and now I'm selling boards to feed my wife and I while shes in grad school :D Whatever, I knew there was a reason I started buying decks like it was going out . Still have my favs (remember the Headhunter ;) ) I'd love to hook up with folks this season if we get enough snow for me to scrape together for a lift ticket. I'd like to publicly give a shout to Mike for keeping the flame and getting a Hood session together. 5 years ago I started a little ol mailing list when I couldn't find other carvers. Glad to know you folks are finding each other! ps- I think, maybe, both boards are sold. Still waiting on a confirmation on the 190
  23. Yup, the carbon look decal should pull off fairly easliy. I'm near the north end of Greenlake. I'm all ears for good eats (particularly cheap veg. friendly ones).
  24. Real men think their boards are smaller then they really are :p
