  1. VW did not make it. I spent three minutes trying to figure out the history and the only stuff I found out was from blogs so I know it was discussed as early as 2005 and apparently a private advertising company contracted it, not VW. I also don't know if it was aired on TV, or where it was aired, but someone mentioned that it was no longer on TV. If anyone knows more about it I would love to hear about the history.

unless they regret it or something :p
  3. My mom sent me this because I'm an International Relations person asking me the same question and I want to know what you think. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfmQh2BQPIM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfmQh2BQPIM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> This isn't asking about the truth of the video (that the golf is strong). I just want to know whether you think showing something like this on TV is ok, funny, or disturbing and why.
  4. If I remember correctly 5-12 was the frequency with the Tahoecarvers.
  5. When I plan on riding my board I tend to post and at Kirkwood we've gotten upwards of 8. Wachussett is me and Bob (coordinated of course) and one or two others but that is only from two days of experience. I probably won't make it to Kirkwood this year so its nice to know Mt. Rose is catching people (I'm basing out of Reno)
  6. I refused to buy a helmet that didn't fit me and it took a while for me to be happy enough to commit to one. After I found it though at least I knew what I was looking for next time around- stuck with the same brand, carrera. I used to wear a full fask mask under the helmet but there was really no need. Now I wear a half mask that goes around my neck and came with my jacket and that with the goggles and helmet keeps my face and head warm at all times and in all conditions. What are full face helmets designed for? I never really thought they were designed for people face-planting, rather for people running into things like race gates.

I doubt I will be- Ski team training starts dec 7 and I have races every weekend for the next five from then. While I could probably make it out for an evening I won't have weekends to do homework so I have in the past been studying 15 hrs per day for M-Th. (hopefully not though!! )
  8. Does he ski or snowboard? I really like my camelback or (insert other brand here). Other gifts I've received that I really liked included tuning kits, car wash kits... that's pretty much it. Special song mixes are cheap and personal. Coupons for ski tuning, boot fitting? Travel bags for snowboards. Cool radios although I guess now we just use cell phones. Dynamite. Renting a super expensive car for a day.

I will probably leave at around 4/430- I am supposed to have dinner in Boston and I should probably show up showered.
  11. Another gift idea (and i pride myself over introducing the massage one this session!) for someone who maybe isn't so committed, to give to a guy would be a radar detector If he is young and wealthy he probably spent money on a nice car and enjoys driving fast. Or ice wine that the two of you could share with swiss chocolate. That's all i've got for now. This year my favorite birthday present for me was a bucket with car cleaning supplies.

I will be up there tomorrow (probably starting at around 11 again). PS- my legs are burning ! It hurts to stand up from chairs and walk my 500 stairs but it feels oh so good
  13. I'm not tan enough and my boobs are too small.
  14. Best gift ever: massages You can either do it yourself with heating oils OR OR! a massage gift certificate at a nice spa. Honestly, for busy women I swear this is the best thing you can give. My mom gives it to her female friends and they absolutely love it because it forces them to relax for two hours.

My season pass doesn't cover weekend days. Plus I should theoretically be studying for finals... Dude.... Bob... listen. It is a guy thing to refer to any color that is maroon, mauve, baby pink, salmon, coral, OR ANY OTHER VERSION OF PINK as simply pink. If you want to be the woman in this relationship that is fine with me. love you

I was planning on leaving after spanish class tomorrow (end 930) so I probably would have showed up at around 11. I also need to go back to Boston though for a meeting at 8 so I'll probably be doing a similar schedule to drzrm. My board is a pink burton ultraprime, orange/brown boots, gray pants, black jacket, silver/red helmet, orange goggles. I can almost guarantee that I will be the only girl on a hardboot set up. ~Tonja Edit: Clarification- I will be at Wachusett
  17. I think they both totally look awesome

I will be there on Tuesday. And yeah, I'll be in Tahoe for Christmas :-) again. I'm flying over on the 19th I think so I will probably be boarding on the 20th and 21st at Northstar.

Who was the other hardbooter there? Bob and I spent most of the time adjusting my gear and saying awkward things to be overheard in the lodge.

  22. Just because I am a Muslim and you are a Jew doesn't mean our fight for Monica Lewinsky is a religious one. I think the conversation has tracked far away from the issue of lower wage worker treatment in the US for positions typically associated with immigrant labor.
  23. Visitare Argentina en el ano proximo tambien pero por trabajar en una hacienda con caballos. El otro noche, Bob me enseno palabras verdes.
  24. The agricultural industry has some of the strongest lobbies in the government, and consequentially receives some of the most subsidies to protect them from having the consumer buy cheaper products from abroad.
