  1. some english explanations on page 19 !
  2. Not only. It's also due to the EC technique associated to the customized flex. The board bending gives natural canting See the picture
  3. Babelfish ! ooh , I'm afraid the translation is hard to understand because it's a very technical message. However, your understanding is good. Yes, the rsk with wrist protectino is to cause damage to fingers, and from the surgeon point of view it's easier and faster to repair wrist / arm bones than fingers Yes, this is the main point
  4. About wrist protection, here is a message taken from a french post http://www.extremecarving.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2280&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=24 A member of EC forum, surgeon and also carver dissuade to wear wrist protection ... Maybe someone could translate it. HTH
  5. Ooooh, funny post :) Here are my gloves. Customized with leather pieces, kevlar sheet and many polyglut layers ! And it's a pain we can't post here the nice smell .....
  6. Where do you start counting ? First on the toe ? If yes, second is not a problem, but third may be. Personally, I don't clamp the 3rd buckle, so it's not a problem. It's also possible to modify the attach of this buckle to increase flex.
  7. Seen ! I don't see so much forward lean. Apart the BTS, did you make any cutting / tuning in the shell ?
  8. No, I don't know But I think they should be the same. Maybe different plastic but probably coming from the same mold (for cost reason)
  9. Yes, I reduced the thickness of the tongue with the sand machine. Reducing thickness increase softness (According to inertia momentum formula, softness depends on cube of thickness : I = w*th^3 / 12) No, I don't know You're welcome ;)
  10. Yes, Head tuning is continuous improvement :) You have understand the Head's tuning philosophy : free flexion without friction, than control through the springs. I put some english translation on the thread Direct link to the video : click here here is the ultimate tuning :
  11. Hi Rob : This slope exists :) I know it. This is exactly what happens :1luvu:
  12. I would suggest to choose the softer boots. Softer is better for future EC goal, and help also when "nice groom goes away" because allow more dampening with your legs !
  13. Voted "yes". Was a challenge. Reached now :) Now I'm looking to another one like doing the same .... fakie
  14. Yes the video was made after all modifications Oui !!
  15. Yesterday, I made the full modifications described here on a brand new pair of Head Stratos Pro. The flex improvement is just ... crazy !!
  16. Not only a width or weight problem, but also stiffness distibution ... I tried also lumbering wide board As Jack said : "This means changing edges starting with your toes, then ankles", did you tried the wide board with same angles (57f/54r), or set the angles to have the boots extremities just over edges ?
  17. Wider boards are also more versatile when slopes aren't perfectly groomed. Wide board floats better in fresh snow, soft / spring snow and powder.
  18. Stephane, I'm the builder of ACSS. Yes, you're right. ACSS is designed for HEAD only, unlike the BTS which was designed for Raichle / Deeluxe boots. With ACSS, nothing is overpassing behind the heel, and this is better for laid backside turn with low rear angle. Right also :( BTS is made on CNC machine with high end surface treatment, while I do ACSS myself with a few manual tools ... As mentionned above, for both system, it's absolutly necessary to customize the shell to take advantage of the spring effect. You can download here a document with all cutting instructions. Arnaud
  19. Thanks also to Vahur for the pictures (taken during ECS08) 2nd picture. Incredible how the board bend !! But don't break :)
  20. I compare with old Raichle 12x, 32x but also Le Mans and Suzuka. Never tried recent Track. Riding the EC style with low angles (45-46° rear), shell size and overhanging are the main problem for me. The rest depends on your feet shape and personal feeling. You are right. This is the reason I started in Head tuning :)
  21. The latest modifications are translated (page 20) There is also a link to an english pdf file on page 18. http://carvingspot.free.fr/download/montage_ACSS_en.pdf Poll : Head are better for me. - Better liner, warm, comfortable, with better feet holding. - Shorter shell for the same mondo size = less overhanging. - More accurate boots, giving better transmission of forces to the board / edge. - Better tuning capabilties ;)
  22. Cutting can be done with a good cutter (be careful to avoid injury). Making the latest modifications described above, it's easy to cut because all plastic parts are unmounted and accessible.
  23. Glad to see that more and more peoples like softer boots :D See here the latest improvment : http://www.extremecarving.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1034&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=279 Initial post is in french but an english translation is added in italic. With the pictures, all should be clear. I can insure these modifications are just ... wonderful It's much more easy and relaxing to carve in every conditions.
  24. ciao ciao Here is a small report about Cervinia (in french, sorry, but pictures) I made after one week there. http://www.extremecarving.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2977 Great spot. La Thuile is also a great spot for carving with very steep slopes, but December is too early in the season for La Thuile. Some pictures of the good slopes here : http://carvingspot.free.fr/la-thuile/lathuile-pistes.htm Arnaud
  25. The Donek Axxess / Axis is also a good choice. I own a 172 Axis, it's a very good board for carving in soft conditions : wet / spring snow, powder. This board is also suitable to learn EC (not on icy steep slopes on which Swoard is the best). I can do easily front/back turn with it.
