  1. Hi, The ACSS name is right. It's the name of the spring system I produce since 2005, first for Head boots, than for UPZ boots. Unfortunately, I do not have anymore time to make big production this season ....
  2. This is something we experimented some years ago. Of course it's possible to EC with this setup, but the feeling is far away from what yo ufeel with hardboots. Not very precise and hard snow, not dynamic, less comfortable.
  3. some news about these bindings : http://www.phk-italia.com/en/products/mix-2/
  4. he he , you have a sharp view :) It was for test purpose, a third strap, but it didn't work as expected.
  5. you're right Corey ! I made some mods on mine and I'm now able to put the board on the side (90°) with 20-25° at the rear foot
  6. Hi David The Mix is really a great binding, but unfortunately no more produced. I got from the factory the 3 last pairs available last year :) The new model Mix 2 is yet designed and some prototypes were tested by riders, but production is not started. I hope it will be available for the next season withnew improvements Stay tuned !
  7. No ! Of course the board is designed for EC, but there is a lot of work to make it a versatile board that works in every conditions. As for every wide board it's mainly a matter of technique. Race technique is not the best to manage this kind of wide boards. Being a metal board it has a little bit less pop than the Extremecarver (Gen 5 actually) that use Carbon / Kevlar in the construction. The last model, Pro 2, build with .4 mm titanal has more pop than the previous one. Yes, right, especially, the Pro 2
  8. I tried most of these boards The Coiler EC is a good board but the Extremecarver Pro is better to make EC, and has more versatility. You can use it even on soft snow or moguls, with the same easiness. I tried also 2 Bulat : 168 and 175 (both with fiberglass construction). The 168 is a poor board. No dampening, lot of vibrations, awfull sound on hard snow. Definively an unpleasant board that works only on good snow. No fun to ride it. The 175 Bulat is worse. One of the worst board I ever tried. Way to hard, difficult to turn, and as the 168, no dampening. as Nils said copying the outline doesn't make a good board.
  9. The Swoard dual works perfectly in powder and carving. It's also lighter to go in the trees and moguls. Can be riden with both soft/hard boots setup
  10. Solved the coldness problem of UPZ liners by putting around a cutted wool sock (size 47-48) !
  11. Hi I have got both : Head Stratos Pro mondo size 28. I tried some years ago a 27.5 but the boot was to narrow and I had foot pain after a few hours. RC10 : 27.5 fits perfectly for my feet, and I have more space around my feet in the liner
  12. Hi all Yes, the protrusion at the base of UPZ shell is not high enough to use it to fix the rod with a pin. It's necessary to add a part at the base. On the pictures shown on EC.com it was a simple part made in a U-profile in aluminium. Now I use a stronger part milled in a 15x15 mm block. The part is threaded. Note that the shell has a small rectangular just above the protrusion, used by the original system. The bottom part I made has a little tongue that fit inside this hole.
  13. Interesting. But being derived from existing Deeluxe / Raichle molds what is the interest of these boots ? Cheaper than Deeluxe ? Some improvements ?
  14. I will be very pleased to meet you during these events
  15. Maybe you could remove some plastic .... here is the tool

Hi guys I'm the ACSS builder. The system was originally build for Head boots, and I added a part at the bottom to fit it on UPZ boots. The part is not the one shown on the picture (it was a prototype). Yes, not enough range of movement. The original system mounted on UPZ is very similar to the one mounted on Head boots (same plastic part and same metal part) Pour les francophones : il faut faire 1 trou au talon pour la pièce inférieure et 2 trous au dessus pour fixer l'équerre. Les vis se montent par l'intérieur et ont des têtes plates pour ne pas endommager le chausson.
  17. the thruth is that Courchevel likes carving : http://www.s3v.com/hiver/News/SWOARD-DEMO-TOUR-219.html ! 40 participants and a reserved slope :)
  18. Carving meeting in Peyragudes, Pyrénées, France - January 22-23 http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePetitPierre#p/a/u/0/rrkRhjUyx8Y Great session despite a relative lack of snow, but the slope service made a fantastic job !
  19. uuuh , every turn !! oups , no, it's not fall , just laid turns ...
  20. Yes, I had the chance to compare these 3 models in a shop. The plastics parts are exactly the same. There is only one mold (per size) for 3 models. Only the plastic stiffness change.Shell AND tongue are stiffer on RC10 compared to RC10. But it's easy to soften the tongue ...
  21. Brandon My street shoes are also 9.5 - 10 and I use mondo 28 head boots. Some years ago I tried Stratos in MP 27.5 but it was definively too small. Note that Head's shell size change from 27.5 to 28. I tried also UPZ RC10 and ... 9.5 is perfect for these boots (the shell has the same length as Stratos 28)
  22. No problem Sinecure This slopes is crazy ! One time in January 2010 it was covered off small icy balls and it was almost impossible to stay on the edge ... But with good snow, it's a dream
  23. We are definitely riding 30-35 degree slopes. 72% for sure ... Believe this or not, but the slope seen in the video is really steep, and all the final wall is 35 - 36° Yeaaah !! it's true that grooming is not really easy !
  24. At 35°, and over, EC requires good skill. : the slope @ 4'30" has a maximum steepness of 72% = 36° . On icy snow, it's possible but difficult !25-30° is good for EC
