  1. Bruce has wide body EX models in 170cm/12m sidecut and 176cm/13m sidecut. I believe he is building them with waists between 22cm and 23.5cm. My 176 is a 22.5ish waist. Really fun board.
  2. Hey Jon, dealing with heals that are too narrow is easy. Go down to your local hardware store and buy a few different types of rubber or plastic tubing. 1/4 inch inner diameter to fit TD bails. The clear plastic stuff is pretty thin, and thus doesn't take up much space. You can also get automotive heater or fuel hoses that have a bit more wall width. Pull the bails off your bindings slide the tubing on to the "straight" part of the bails and reassemble. Now your heals will squirm less in the bindings... Enjoy!
  3. I had a pair of Burton disks machined for my Intec Challenge Comps so I could ride my Fish with plates. The machinist used some fancy plastic (Delrin?) and charged me $50. I think I could find his contact info, he said he'd keep the CAD file if I ever needed another set... They've held up fine to a dozen or so powder days so I think they're solid... They were strong enough hold on through a landing that cracked the core of the board.
  4. I bought a set of those a couple years back. They are rather low quality. So low that I would not use them on any snowboard.
  5. CFJ needed larges, so the INTEC RaceTIs are still available. Mark
  6. UPDATE: Both pairs are pending sale. Thanks! Two pairs of F2 stepins for sale. Both in nearly new shape, perhaps 2 days on each pair. Both come with all cants and lifts and the appropriate screws. INTEC Race TI - Size Medium for boots <28MP ($125) Link to F2 Website Details INTEC Challenge Comp ($100) Link to F2 Website Details
  7. Also note that if you want more forward lean, use a stiffer spring on the bottom than on the top. That will force the cuff further forward for a given lower nut position.
  8. I'll take it. Paypal OK? andersen_m@yahoo.com
  9. The carve RS have a plastic baseplate while the Titaniums have an aluminium baseplate. The TIs will be noticably stiffer. I have the RS really like them for all mountain riding.
  10. HeavyTools appears to have ceased snowboard production in about 2000. www.archive.org is a great way to find info on older, out-of-production gear, you just have to guess at the URL. Here's their site as of 12/1996. I don't see anything called Stinger or Sting... http://web.archive.org/web/19970409013505/www.heavytools.com/sbindex.htm Based on that info, I'm guessing the board is at least 10 years old... Enjoy! Mark
  11. Machining disks with teeth would be very complex, and likely considerably more expensive than the $50 I spend on mine. Go to a shop that stocks lots of different brands of softies and see if any of the disks are close enough to work. I only tried a few before giving up, but you may get lucky...
  12. Peter, do your disks have "teeth" or are they smooth? I'm nearly certain the freecarves used a disk with 3 degree teeth, similar to most plastic softboot bindings. Unfortunately, the diameter of the Proflex disks didn't match up with any other manufacturers I could find... If you have smooth disks, I'd be happy to try to dig up the name of the machinist I used. I'd even modify my design slightly. "Version 1.0" was a beta and could be refined a bit... Mark
  13. Hi Peter: Most F2/Proflex plate bindings disks are interchangeable. All models (that I know of) have a rubber gasket on the binding that grips a smooth disk. There aren't any teeth, so angles are very adjustable. The only exception is the mostly plastic "Freecarve" and "Intec Challenge" models, which have a plastic toothed disk. http://www.f2snow.com/english/products/bindings/freecarve.html If you are looking for toothed disks, you may get lucky with another brand being reasonably close. I never found one, but I also didn't try that hard. I can tell you the Burtons, K2s and Salomons didn't work. If you are looking for "press fit" disks that work with most bindings, good luck. They used to exist, but are now rarer than hen's teeth. I had a pair custom machined out of Delrin for about $50. http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=6352 Good Luck!
  14. Wow, that's stupid cheap. $20 says it gets snapped up quick and shows up here on BOL later this season at a 100% markup...
  15. Thanks Bryan, you've got paypal $$$. Still looking for a 3.5* cant or two. In the pic in the first post, it is the one on the right, with no flat-spot on the thin edge. Clean out your gear box and replace cants with cash!!!
  16. Exactly. Got your message offline. Will respond soon. Thanks Bryan!!!
  17. I need two *round* 4x4 Burton Cants. 7* or 3.5* are acceptable, but they must be the large diameter (finned) round cants with a 4x4 center. Willing to pay up for these rarites. Here's a pic (source: AlpineCarving.com) Email through Bomber Profile.
  18. Kendrick showed at my place, on time, cash in hand, to pick up the Prior 4wd I had for sale. He's new to hard boots and still figuring everything out. Give him some slack.
  19. Full backcountry setup for sale. 166 Voile, beacon, probe, shovel, boots, plate bindings, poles, the full Monty!!! http://talk.splitboard.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=2662 email at andersen_m@yahoo.com Thanks for looking! I've also got a very sweet Liberation GS race board (178) that I'll sell for little more than a song.... Search on Liberation for details... Happy summer!!!!
  20. I finished the winter season at 198lbs (rather plump for me). I was probably over 200 at some point, but it never showed up on the scale thankfully. I have been watching my eating and on the bike *alot* in preparation of a couple of big goals this summer. I'm down to 170lbs on my way to 165. My goals (our goals really, we did the climbs on a tandem!) were to climb the Mt. Ventoux and Alpe d'Huez while in France watching the Tour. Here's the proof!!! Ventoux Alpe d'Huez
  21. I've got one left. Where shall I send it? Mark
  22. Thanks Dave. Best collection of info about the Deeluxe line out there. Knowing the durometer and modulus of the plastic may seem like a bit esoteric, but it does help to compare the line.
  23. Thanks everyone. Tix at the window appear to be 70CDN, so it sounds like 7-11 is the way to go... How's that Nitro treating you Jon? I'm heading up tomorrow for a long weekend. Doesn't look like much powder, so I think I'm bringing carvers.
  24. Is it still cheaper to buy Whistler lift tix at 7-11 in Squamish? What is the rate? Many Thanks!
