1. I think it has more to do with steering movements than it does reducing edge angle. After all, you can skid or carve or sideslip with the exact same amount of edge angle--what determines if the board skids or carves is the direction in which you steer it: if the board points exactly in the direction it is travelling, it'll carve. If it points across the direction it is travelling, it'll skid. In 'skarving' turns, you make gradual movements of both feet (and legs) to guide the board through a round arc. If your skarves are more sideslips than round arcs, I think it 'd be helpful to focus on using smaller, more gradual and precise movements of the feet to guide the board through a round arc, rather making a big movement, all at once, to steer the board through the turn. Mi dos centavos.
2. Here's some. I've seen several others, new, sell for less than $100 during the last few weeks.

4. I guess I'm impatient. I mounted my bindings, right from the start, so that the toe and heel were right over the edges, without overhang. Worked for me--at least so far.
5. I've seen a few pairs of these listed on BOL and EBay. I've never heard of them before. Anyone know anything about them?
6. you haven't yet seen it, tognar is a good resource for tuning info, kits, and tools.
7. Hey, I've read a few posts about carving 360s. I've never seen it but would like to learn how to do it. Anyone able to recommend a web-video which shows the full carved 360, or give a couple tips to carve a full circle? And special considerations regarding slope profile? Technique? Other stuff? Thanks for any help you can give!
8. It's been a while, but we used to find good snow every once and a while in West Virginia (Canaan, Timberline, and Snowshoe). One time, we hit it during a major snowstorm and enjoyed three feet of fresh powder--and because the roads were impassable we had it mostly to ourselves. Of course, it was more often hard and slick. You can sometimes find cheap flights to Burlington, Vt. (close to Sugarbush, Stowe, Jay Peak, Smugg's) for less than $100. Conditions are more reliable (and runs are longer!) Worth keeping an eye out for...
9. on quality on quality and price. Probably yes. Please post samples!
10. I think the'desired goal' is likely to change with each person, snow condition, ability level, equipment, etc. For a racer, the 'desired goal' is to navigate the course as fast as possible. My goal is to have as much fun as possible, and to enjoy the sensations of riding. I make turns of both shapes as the situation--or my mood--warrants. IMO, to maximize fun, a rider would be well advised to be able to make both long and short carved turns (and skidded turns, traverses, hop-turns, extension, retraction, etc.). Like a painter with a variety of colors on the palette, it allows you more options for self expression. And fun. Mi dos centavos.
11. This may sound crazy, but I'd prefer to hear some of the smartest things people have heard. Pax, Slim
12. I rode the TD 2 today for the first time after riding Burton race plates for a buncha years. In addition to a more positive connection to the board (w/o the movement of the boot/binding characteristic of Burton), I felt it took more force to tilt and keep the board on edge. My question is: I can see that a binding that sits taller will provide additional leverage to tilt the board on edge (longer moment arm on the lever--similar to using a lifter plate on a ski binding). Does the additional height of the TD 2 also increase the leverage of the external forces (the ones that pull your board flat through the turn)? Does the lever work both ways? It sure feels that way. I'd appreciate any thoughts on the benefits and disadvantages of close to the board vs. elevated bindings. Thanks!
13. Hi Anyone have difficulty with an Intec release cable pressing into the outside of the ankle? Ouch! I've tried repositioning it but it shifts back to directly behind the lateral malleolous (bump on outside of ankle). Installed Intec after baking T-Flex liners, and wonder if rebaking with repositioned cable would solve the problem--but don't want to rebake if unnecessary. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.
14. Burton's # is 802) 862-4500. A few years back, when I returned busted bails for the umpteenth time, a friend who worked R&D there shot me several bails he claimed were titanium. I don't know if they are or not (they look exactly like the ones I kept snapping), but I have yet to break one (I still ride as hard, on similar boards, and as many days as before). Might be worth asking about... edit: Ooops...just noticed that you had asked about the plastic levers, not the bails. But you still might want to ask as the replacement part typically comes with both lever and bail.
15. I'm interested. I'm a 107CM (42 inch, I believe) chest. Would you think it fits? Would you ship to the UK? Nice photo, BTW.
16. In addition to the above mentioned solutions to further distribute the pressure out from the bang-spot, another way to address it would be to try increasing the forward lean a bit, or using a heel lift (or both).
17. First time I've seen Oxygen hardboots. Have you used 'em? How do they compare with the other hard boots that are out there? Thanks for any additional info...
18. of Adobe PS/Premiere are sometimes available for waaaaay reduced prices. And earlier versions (PS>5.0, Premiere>5.5) will do the still/video stuff you want to do. A google/froogle/EBay search may turn up some good values. As an added bonus, you can often upgrade to the most recent version for a much lower cost than buying the recent SW at rack rate. FWIW
19. I remember the stat as a wider board (like 21 - 22 cm waist) which evolved to the narrower FPs. The narrowest stock Burton FP I can remember seeing had an 18 cm waist).

Maybe it's just all that sweet Utah powder!
21. Show her the most recent issue of National Geographic. Half the issue is devoted to the subject of global warming, evidenced by receding glaciers, melting icecaps, earlier seasonal changes and measurably higher concentrations of CO2 in the deep ocean (among other things). This might help convince her to make the move now, while we still have white winters.
22. You could do worse. Booster posts some kickass images. Thanks all for the preview of coming attractions. All of 'em got me stoked for the coming season--but we still have a bunch of autumn to go before it finally snows here. Makes me want to relocate someplace higher.
