  1. That's too bad it has taken you this long. PM me with your address. My good deed for the day. Glad I can finally help someone else.
  2. Two years ago they sold me new front and back bails. I think around $15 each. Burton Rider Services: 800-881-3138
  3. Patrick was very humbled today....new board, boots and bindings....too much at one time. He's tall - but he's just not ready for a 185 board yet. :) Watching everyone else blowing away his score, he went back to his SL board for the forth run and dropped the "go fast" line and starting carving wide. It took him until the very last run to dial it in. Good edges seemed to matter as the course deteriorated. Not sure we got the wax right for the conditions. JoeD and Scuff were best most consistently, but everyone had very good runs. Things would have been very different if the race didn't go all the way to six runs.
  4. I'm always worried about the "tin can" topsheet on the Metal Priors and have always wondered what exactly was in Hans' boards. I'll call Prior on Monday and send Hans another email as well. But looks like we should be OK.
  5. .....as it was so much fun to watch. Speedzilla, please let Tammy and her staff know how much we all appreciate what they did. I didn't see how many people were at the start area, but from below it seemed like there were just as many employees involved today as there were riders. Very, very well done. As Scuff noted, the screen and announcing made all the difference. Everyone involved did an excellent job. We'll try to get more people there next time. Hopefully they will consider a spring event. Thanks everyone for all the fun today.
  6. .....we think at this point a 185 is too large. Need at least a 19.5 waist and a medium stiffness for a 140 rider.
  7. Have a few Prior Metals and a Kessler. Any issues using a typical ski shop hot box to better set the wax? Thanks much
  8. ....but you are not set up for email. Please email me.
  9. ....should be represented by approx 10 riders. Just one older adult rider (17) plus coaches. always a good time.
  10. ....the difference between a new IBEX binding and the orange or red race plates from the late 90s? We have put out team kids on Race Plates because they were softer and more forgiving. We have heard that although the IBEX plates use the same Burton molds they might be using a stiffer material.....not as forgiving as the original race plates. Anyone know the differences? Have you ridden both?
  11. Email me please with the type you are looking for.
  12. ....is December 14th. It's a pretty laid back, very fun event. http://www.buckhill.com/winter/carvingcup.shtml
  13. ....we were watching the tent while Michelle left for a bit. If Sean, Phil or others do a camp the week before Nationals at Copper - I would think most people would want to train on Copperopolis where the races will be held. BUT - there may be very little training available during the actual week of competition. So as noted earlier in this post, setting lane space during Nationals week might be a great idea. But - if there is no camp at Copper the week before, it could work well.....like the Boreal camps before the Tahoe events. Matt Hanna www.thegteam.com
  14. ....many riders seemed very happy with that boot. As I understand it , very little side to side flex.....only forward....but stiff.
  15. ....but still have these boards. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=22034 http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=22035
  16. Funny to be reading this article. My son was at RTTC and tried out his new Kessler to then find out the extra stiffness pushed the limits of his soft (hard) boots. Watching all the racers on their Dibellos (sp?), I was convinced he should switch to them as well. Too close to the race to change we went to see Ari at Surefoot asking that he use padding and other boot fitter tricks to help get us through the race. While there we talked about the ski boot movement with the snowboarders....he told us of Alexa's switch back to her Deeluxe boots. I then went back myself to have my ski boot liners remolded and we continued the conversation. Who should walk in but Alexa and Jasey Jay. While I stood painfully in my boots allowing the liners to cool, Ari agreed to make a Surefit set of liners for Jasey. Watching both of them race - it sure seemed like a good move for them. Last night we ordered my son a new pair of Deeluxe 325s from Michelle and intend to get the Surefit liners on our next visit to Copper. As Alexa said, this RTTC was amazing - so many different countries represented.
  17. ....but if you don't want to spend for a SkiMd tune (PTC), another alternative is Precision Ski in Frisco, CO. They use the same equipment as SkiMD and charge $60......almost 1/2. We just had a board tuned there and with a racer's discount it was $48 and was done quite well. Took a true bar to the edges and they were perfect (.5/3). With shipping you could go well under $100 and have a great job. Lastly - if you have edge questions/issues visit Eric at Pierce in Bloomington. He can't do the base, but loves to "play" with race boards and tweek the edges. Has great knowledge and all the cool tuning gear and wax. Also got a coupon in the mail for a stone grind at Dick's Sporting goods......
  18. Should have known Patrick's coach would have the answer.
  19. At Race to the Cup Sorry - the board has no specs written on it. This was a stock board, so possibly I can find a spec sheet buried on the web somewhere. I will look and see. I will be home this coming weekend to look at the board and take some measurements.
  20. At coaches meeting this evening times were given as follows: 7:00 AM racers lift 7:30 AM inspections 8:00 AM start of qualifiers 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM ish - start of finals 9:00 AM - lifts open for spectators I think we will need incredible luck for well over 100 riders to be done by 9. Don't hesitate - get on the first lift and you should make the finals - just not the qualification runs.
  21. The rider evidently just outgrew a pair of Head Stratus. The shells are 27 - 28.5 but his toes go all the way to the end of the shell with no liner. Once the liner is added, he's done. BUT - he has tried on a pair of Deeluxe boots same size and they fit with the liner in. Looks like the two styles of boots are cur differently. Sorry - but he believes that your boots will not fit either. If you are at Copper on Sunday look for riders training on Copperopolis, probably where the NASTAR will eventually be set up. Thanks again - almost..... Matt Hanna www.thegteam.net www.patrickhanna.net
  22. Have a racer that will be at Copper this weekend but he has outgrown his boots. Michelle still doesn't have boots in for the season. Would like to borrow/rent or possibly buy if appropriate. It's snowing in the mountains - would hate to not have him ride this weekend. Thanks in advance for any possible help.
  23. Let's try this one too.
