  1. ...interested in SL board without Hangls.
  2. ....that Dan's Dive at Welch is one of the best USASA racing hills in the state that times with NASTAR rankings as icing. They are very pleasant to work with for these races and have a facility at the bottom that makes watching these races pleasant. We get lots of parents that show. Some of us really would like to make nice with the hill......kids and young adults currently ranked in the top 20 in USSA and National podium winners for USASA have raced/race at this hill. It's what we have in MN.....it is what it is....
  3. Not sure that the coaches would want to start a rider on an asym....but I will ask.
  4. Could really use a 135cm carving board....in fact could use two or three.
  5. ....in the smaller sizes. This board, the Burton Addicted 154 and a Prior 155 locatred here: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=20202 Most boards cost between $25 - $30 to ship in the US. The specs on the Prior are still the current WCR specs on their webpage: www.priorsnowboards.com I listed the only specs listed on the Burton board. There were no specs listed for the F2 board. All three boards lean towards the tighter turning radius ala slalom racing boards. The Prior is the widest and would be the most forgiving. These boards were all ridden by a 134 lb rider. Email me if you would like to talk further about any of the boards.
  6. I am glad the board arrived as expected and that you are happy - we take very good care of our boards. The board is everything to a racer. My son is 16 and will not stop growing so he has outgrown the smaller boards. In addition, he has stepped up to Titanol boards now and they are finicky at best. Many riders show up at competitions with multiple boards.....they act as a back-up for your main board and sometimes give you another riding alternative if the hill offers unexpected challenges/terrian. It's always nice to have safety nets and choices. Truth is he rarely rides the back-up boards......in your case, he never rode that board. But we had it in the wings just in case....
  7. From 05/06 season. This board was drug around as a racer's back-up board, ridden just a few times. It has binding marks on the topsheet with a couple of minor lift line dings. The base and edges are perfect. This board has that cool structure F2 was using that season.....this board is ready to go - no work needed except to take off the storage wax. My son is riding longer boards now. More pics available. Best offer, but was hoping for $249 + shipping.
  8. I can't email you.....and we can't highjack Flyin Hawaiian's thread. Email me. I'd consider buying those race plates....they're what you need. I'm buying them if you do not and Petrol does not..... There's always another kid coming up on the team. www.thegteam.net
  9. ....does your child race USASA? Email me if you like and I can help out. These race plates listed here are often perfect for racers just starting. Good qulaity but more foregiving, especially for lighter riders. We use them almost exclusively for the "kids" on our team. As they grow, we eventually switch to F2 or something more stiff. The price being asked here is very fair. If Petrol, willywhit or others take them, I might be able to help you with other alternatives.
  10. .....the Race Plates if still left. Thanks for having sent the pic via email.
  11. Yeah I know it's a freestyle board....but I figured I might have better luck here. All Mountain Freestyle board from Prior

    Boardercross Relay

    .....really cool.
  13. ....of a protective layer, even if only a clear coating. That coating could keep the Metal from chipping as it does now. Scuff, hopefully the board did well this evening at practice. I am out of town waiting for an update. Going back to the soft WCR 155 killed him. That board was his favorite....now he calls it unstable compared to his new Metal 163!
  14. Well, kinda......bought: - a Quick Grip with a rubber surface about the size of the problem area - Devcon 2 ton Epoxy ($13) with PSI strength of 2500 Used a dremel tool to polish off the sharp edges and applied the Epoxy with wax paper between the board and the Quick Grip. After drying, I used the dremel tool again to polish off the excess. Finally, I put a bolus of Epoxy over the entire area covering the open area as well as all exposed areas of metal.....essentially sealing everything. If you look at the board closely, you see the Epoxy....but from any distance at all it just looks like there is metal missing with everything else laying in tact. Could be wrong, but this really looks like it is going to hold. Thanks again everyone for the thoughts.
  15. if interested. Also have another member of my kid's team that has a F2 168.....though I believe intended as a smaller GS board (RS).
  16. We believe that this board is three or four seasons old. It was originally built for Amie Newton (sp?) from the Canadian National Team. She weighed 124 lbs at the time. When we purchased it 2 years ago my son weighed 125 lbs and appreciated the forgiveness....it is a soft board, perfect for our crappy, icy conditions in MN. He has moved up to a 163 and gone stiffer so this board must go. Standard Prior WCR specs....but softer and with a rounded tail. Full PTC tune this past summer. Shameless plug for Mike - this is the best tune money can buy! This board has soft travel wax and the edges are perfect. Best offer but was hoping for $250 + shipping.
  17. My son's "signature" board.....back in 05 before he could race FIS he attended the Grand Prix in Breck and got a number of signatures on this board. He rode it three times. It was intended as a back-up SL board but was never needed (plus he was afraid of losing the signatures). Now he rides longer boards and this one has to go. Board currently has storage wax. Length = 154 waist = 19 Best offer - but was hoping for $250 + shipping.
  18. From 05/06 season. This board was taken out of the wrapper, mounted one time with bindings and then drug around the country as a racer's back-up board. You can faintly see the binding marks, but otherwise the board is pristine - it has never been on snow. This board is pristine with that cool structure F2 was using that season.....this board is ready to go - no work needed. A new board means the current board becomes the back-up (thanks again Buell), so this one has to go. More pics available. Best offer, but was hoping for $350 + shipping.
  19. We have bent the metal back such that it is laying within about 1mm off the board surface. Still bent, but reasonable now. I have also filed (dremel) any obvious sharp areas. I am going to use epoxy as if it were a standard laminate board surface. If the bent metal still wants to come up, I'll then cut out that portion back to the point that it lays flat, use epoxy, then file. So two questions: - how best do we cut the metal? - what, if anything, would you do about the open area? If this doesn't work well we certainly will send back to Chris after the season. Thanks again Matt www.thegteam.net
  20. Yes - a custom WCR Metal 163 made for SL races. The board might be a little damp for most in tight SL courses, but perfect for my son who weighs 135 pounds at 6'1" tall. He really likes it....just tired of the topsheet issues.
  21. Spoke to Dean at Prior. He said that the metal is treated with a chemical intended to allow a standar 2 part epoxy to work, stressing the need for heat. So the course of action suggested was: 1) try to bend the metal back down with needle nose pliers to make it lay flat. Then use epoxy like I would on a laminate snowboard. 2) if the metal will not stay flat, cut back the metal until I get to metal that will lay flat.....then epoxy 3) cover the open area with tape or stickers to help keep out the moisture on the exposed part of the board 4) return to Prior if all esle fails and they will cut out a section of metal and splice in a new one Our issue is that there are races between now and early April for which the board is needed.....we can not send the board back until then. We have been paying attention at all of the races that we attend and we only see the Prior boards chipping in this way. My son's WCR 173 metal did the same thing.....there are chips where the metal has broken off all over the board......but never lifted up like this before.
  22. ....to get everyone excited about GS this weekend. It's close.....would love to see the usual Buck Hill, Afton and Welch crowd. http://gallery.mac.com/thehannafamily#100008
