    Yo Lci!!

Hey everyone, We are building trail again in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area this Saturday. If you use this area for biking, hiking, or horse riding please come out and join us as we continue building a new trail. Heck, come out even if you haven't ever been here, it is a great place to play. More info and registration at http://www.teamevergreentrailblazers.org/?q=node/15 Registration is mainly for our count so that we have enough food at the BBQ after building. There is usually time for some riding after the building/bbq are over. My family will be camping to make a weekend away out of it. I know that Petunia can't make it but anyone else who can, your help would be greatly appreciated. If you know anyone else who may be interested please pass the info along to them. Aloha, Ink
  2. I agree with sd. The trance is the best one in that list and would work great for you if it is the correct size. I would use the credit with the shop on something other than a used bike that they are selling. Do you have a lot of credit with them? If not I would look at other bike shops around to see if you can find a deal on an '07 or '08 model bike. My '08 trance x1 was a lightly used demo at my lbs, actually only ridden by the shop owner, that I picked up for $1800 including tax. The msrp was $23-2400. The nice thing about working with your lbs is warranty and being able to have them fix things that go wrong. If you look at craigslist for bikes it is possible to get good deals also. Be sure to inspect any used bikes very well so that you don't get surprised in the future. Use your fingers on frame tubes to feel for bumps, dings, flaking paint or cracks. Don't only use your eyes for an inspection. Good luck. Ink
  3. BB, I came off a Santa Cruz Heckler ('00) single pivot with 4" and recently got a Giant Trance x1 with 5". As stated above, anything now will perform better than the old stuff and that is exactly the way it is with my x1. Smoother ride, instant acceleration, no pedal bob, better riding position, and as Shawndoggy said, hydraulic disk brakes are WAAAAYYYYY better than anything cable actuated. What brands does the shop you have credit with carry? It would be easier to give suggestions if we know what you can get at the shop. Ink
  4. 26". Looks to be a Giant Reign. Nice bike shin. We should meet up this summer to pedal. Ink
  5. For racing. FilipinoFlyer is 1/2 of the Philipino Snowboard Team (alpine). Ink GO Jondre!

Remember last summer... your spontaneous inverted aerial resulting in a great headache and the need for a new helmet? Yeah, lets not have any of those this summer. I got my first road ride in this AM from home to work. It went better than I expected. Anyone available to pedal Sat or Mon? Ink

    Yo Lci!!

A bit more trail built today working toward our ~4.5mile new trail in BCRA. Good stuff with few people diggin, hopefully more on June 6th. Oh yeah, BCRA is in great shape for riding though I didn't have my bike so no riding there for me. I did however get my first, short, mtb ride in behind the house after returning from BCRA. It all felt pretty good but the bike wasn't very stable in g-out and cornering type situations. Doh, forgot to inflate the tires to the proper pressure, hence the wobblies. I'll fix that for next ride. Anyway, Evergreen Mtn. is in very good shape so if anyone is coming to pedal it let me know ahead of time so that I can hopefully meet up with you. Ink

  10. The Buffalo Bill DH happened this weekend. I wasn't able to check it out in person but here is a clip from a news report. There are also some vids on Vimeo. Wish I could have seen it as it looked awesome. I'll have to check it out next season. All Boards Sports was one of the sponsors of the event. Did any BOL riders attend it? http://cbs4denver.com/sports/Lookout.Mountain.Skateboarders.2.1006670.html Ink

Face is good, only the little scratch from the ice crystals, no black eyes. Great season for sure! I may have one more yet to ride this season but not sure now. Time to get the bikes out for summer fun. This forum will be used during the summer to schedule bike rides (road and mtb) on the weekends. Hopefully we can all get together for some pedal turning in the near future. Ink

Kai and I skated the Cairns Espanlade skate park most mornings and evenings while in Cairns. It was a lot of fun and we had a great time. I will do my best to come out to the BBDH event. Possibly for a bit tomorrow since Sunday is Moms Day. Good luck if I don't make it and I hope it goes off without a hitch. Ink
  16. I may be out on Monday the 11th. What days are you folks riding? Ink
  17. For all of you asking questions about riding watch this vid ova and ova. It shows how to ride well, racer style, with stacked body, good movements, shoulders parallel to the snow, knees apart for independant absorbsion of terrain changes and all the other goodies involved. Keep up the good riding T32. Ink
  18. Very nice vid with some great riding. Keep it up and hope to see you in 09-10. Ink
  19. Spil, Most of the LCI will be done riding snow by that time and will have transitioned to riding dirt. I'm sure that folks will post here if they will be out during that time. Fin recently posted conditions in this thread. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=25837 Come out during the main 09-10 season in to meet many CO riders. Meet up with the LCI and you will get many pointers to aid your riding if that is something you are looking for. If we don't see you have a great and safe time. Ink
  20. Fin, Thanks for the report. Can you make it out for some turns with us? Ang, Hope to see you. Ink

What is the plan for this weekend, 9,10 May 09? I still have the metal Virus Phantom to test out and two tickets for the Basin. Ink
  24. I just got back from hitting this park in Cairns. It has the one main bowl shown in the vid, a smaller bowl and is surrounded by a big street plaza. This was a very nice park for KarverKai and I to ride. Especially since he is only six and I am just relearning to skate. I started getting a pretty good carving lines in the big bowl near the end of the trip. Ink
  25. OVR, This link came across my email and I had to post it for you. I know it isn't an actual old volvo but it is a killer update to an old favorite. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/05/koenigsegg-engineer-building-modern-day-volvo-p1800/ Aloha, Ink
