    Killington

K-mart snow report Friday: Resort News: This April storm smothered us at our higher elevation and we're loving it! We woke up to an additional 5 inches on Friday - 18 total inches of fresh POW in the past 48 hours! We already have 110 snow-covered trails, and ropes will be dropping like VT house flys! This is the type of storm that Killington is famouse for, so get up here and get a piece of one of the last pow-days of the season! FRIDAY: A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 25. SATURDAY: A chance of snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 25. Head spinning: must make it, thru lunch Friday, can't wait till weekend.... feel like Capt. Kirk, can't contain self or think; must ride- NOW! I will be away from a computer in a few hours, but I will be out this weekend and Monday. See ya on the slopes!

    Killington

Just made the decision to bag Utah in favor of Vermont. (did i really type that) If anyone is planning on riding Killington or another mtn not too far away and doesn't mind showing another carver around, please let me know. All the years I've lived in the east cost I've yet to experience K-mart. I look forward to making some turns with some fellow trench diggers :D

    SLC- April 7th-9th

Can't believe I would ever do this, but I cancelled Utah to head up to Vermont instead. With all the snow and cold temps VT has had this week I'm going road tripping. (The flight to SLC was frequent flyer anyway) Thanks for the responses and you can count on me coming out again during a better snow year...

    SLC- April 7th-9th

Matty Thanks for the update. I've checked the UTA website and it says starting Sunday (04-08-07) that they will be running a limited schedule. Luckly for me I'm staying right across the street from one of the shuttle stops, unluckily (I think) the shuttle will not be running to Brighton or Solitude. Oh well- I'll still be sliding on snow, slush or whatever. I would be more than happy if it turns to slush and just sets up a little at night.

    SLC- April 7th-9th

Kirk, At the moment I'm planning on hitting Brighton on Saturday. Starting Sunday the shuttle service to Brighton will be ending (at least according to the info I've seen) and I've yet to find an inexpensive way to get there. If you know of any other services that run to the mountains please let me know. Trying to do this trip on the cheap. I look forward to riding with some Utah locals. Spring conditions is all I've been riding for the past month- so bring it on...

    SLC- April 7th-9th

I'm taking my first adventure out west this weekend. I'm planning on sampling Snowbird and Brighton, in no particular order. If anyone will be out making some turns please post and I'll keep an eye out for you. Just trying to extend the season one more weekend! :D
  7. Sunday report.... Giggled like a school girl for 4 solid hours.... :D
  8. Getting packed down as I type this. Morning was great, but a little (a lot) too soft. Tomorrow should be sweet...... Remember lifts start spinning at 7:30.
  9. The weatherman keeps changing his mind :D Now its 7-15" for the northern valley. Already 4+ here at 4pm and it will keep on all night. Maybe the POW board is order!
  10. I don't know for sure, but I think Blue will receive at least a good 6"+ from this storm. It's starting to stick earlier than expected and from 2pm to 8pm it should be snowing 1-2" per hour. It should be either Pocono (heavy) pow or soft groom tomorrow. The quiver is set for whatever comes up... I'll be out Saturday and Sunday. No reason to stay in bed this weekend. Jesse
  11. I'll be out Saturday and Sunday for sure.... Season is winding down and I need to get out as much as possible.. Jesse
  12. I'll be up Saturday and Sunday this weekend. So if you want to ride, just show up. Be prepared for glazed cord first thing in the morning... good practice. Greg... you better show up or the OD is finding its way on the hill one way or the other.
  13. I had a blast guys. Great turns made by all and the conditions were A+. Must do it again.... Jesse
  14. Blank OD will be fine. I have to open the Coiler up for a few runs first thing. Have fun tomorrow and save some of your legs for Friday!
  15. Below freezing temps all week, natural snow today (3-4"), snow making back into effect..... Friday should be 8:15am Valley (lower) Lodge
  16. there is a certain Pogo I keep hearing about that sure sounds fun. Looks like winter has decided to stick around a little longer. Time to get out on the snow!
  17. March 9th it is...... see you on the slopes. Jesse :D
  18. 9th or 16th are good for me. I would even be up for any other weekday. I checked and there are no school holidays until the 23rd, an in service day. What do you mean no contests? What about a circle carve contest on Razor? That would add a little element of danger  Jesse
  19. Didn't get a chance to ride until Sunday morning.... Saw true blue ice for the first time this season, but they did blow some snow on Razor and Main Street. Had to be on the "A" game for sure. Overall a great morning until the crowds arrived at 9:30. No real laid out turns, but still able to rip (no choice). So should we try a BMES 08 this year? I'm game if you are....
  20. I had a similar incident last year. I was riding down one the widest trails on the mountain all alone. Standing halfway down the trail off to one side was a lone instructor. She was just standing there watching me go by. So I pass by her, really making some aggressive turns, and four turns later on a heelside I hear a load s**t. Then I feel her slam into my shoulder and her skis hit between my front foot and nose; next thing her skis release and she's cart wheeling down the mountain. Luckily they do race training on this trail and there was netting set up, because she slid 300'+ into it. So I pick up her skis and ride them down to her. I'm fine, not a scratch on me, but a hunk taken out of my topsheet and a gash in my TD's. I ask her if she's OK or needs help. She just glances at me and grabs her skis and takes off without saying a word. It was the most bizarre incident.... hopefully it was just a bruised ego and nothing serious. I was grateful that we bothed were able to walk away from it.
  21. I guess they're just taking their time buffing it out for this weekend :D See ya in the trenches!!!
  22. Razor's all morning.... it was good.
  23. I had a blast last year and looking forwarding to riding with everyone again. With this crazy winter it feels like the season just started (again). See ya on the slopes!!!!
  24. Sorry to hear about the bruise, I hope it doesn't keep you from the slopes too long. (I need someone keep my ego bruised!) I have to second D's recommendation, Arnica has worked for me in the past. Ice and heat are a must. I'll be at Blue with the little one Saturday and out solo on Sunday; in case you're healed enough by then. Are you still thinking about going to RT next friday? J
  25. I thought conditions were pretty good this weekend. It was great to finally be riding on Razor again. I'm starting to get the hang of the new board and all I can say is that mother has some teeth! Snapping from turn to turn to turn- bring it on! Depends on the weather, but I should be out by my lonesome this Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see some other carvers out and about. Chubz did you get a chance to ride 7springs ?
