  1. Chest/Spine protector...Demon Sheild vest. http://www.demonsnow.com/store/DS%205100%20Shield%20Vest Drove my elbow into my ribs on a nasty fall and never ever wanted to do that again. The spine protector is a nice bonus...landing on my back is a non-issue now and I worry less about straight liners that are not paying attention. Can get a little toasty on warmer days tho...
  2. ...sigh, it just reminded me of work and the fact that I am behind in prioritizing the backlog.
  3. I have to second all comments above...I only made it for a day, but it's always a blast to ride with you guys. The work put into coordinating, etc is truly appreciated! Checking out my pics I got to see how I *didn't* listen to Corey very well...oh well, it just means I need to ride more and practice. Sorry, Allee, for almost taking you out...wait, since neither of us were the uphill rider, neither is to blame?
  4. I have some Burton Reactors that are 28...and some good ole Raichle SB121s that are 28, but I can only make it out Saturday. If we could meet up earlier in the week I could pass them along. I'm in the deeeep south. Gary
  5. I was watching them plow and groom North Axe all day yesterday...you got it as fresh as it could be!
  6. Not the lift line, but sharing a lift with three skiers (S1, S2, and S3): S1: I think I'd rather have to fight a bear than a cougar. S2: Yeah, a cougar can rip you up like a wolverine. S3: But what kind of bear, you mean like a grizzly or what? S1: Probably more like a black bear. S3: What about a polar bear. S1: Not a polar bear. They are dangerous. I just sat there enjoying the moment. Ok, not snowboard and/or carving related, but I couldn't keep it to myself...
  7. HA! I just emailed you, blaming for causing me to have more snowboard acquisition syndrome...believe me, the temptation is there. You just want to be able to get one of the metal afterburners...

Ugh, spent a few hours at COP today remembering that I use different muscles for mountain biking than I do for carving...also that I need to ride more!!

  8. Yup, got it and responded. Did you see my response?
  9. No, no...you didn't check my location. I'm in Canada. The collision would happen, we'd apologize to each other repeatedly while waiting to be air lifted off the hill, and then go on with our lives. Anyway, I've taken this OT...
  10. I wound up going with a basic vest with a spine protector and foam for chest/ribs. I think it was about $100. It added a little bulk, but not enough to slow me down...and it got my confidence back...not only with the body slams, but also around the straight liners that come out of my blind spot...
  11. Yeah, I did that in slush last year...I still think one of my ribs isn't quite in the right place from the slam to the snow. Not long after that I got my chest/back protector...
  12. wooo!!! My COP pass may come in handy one more time!!!
  13. It was good to meet you...even if it was only for a quick ride up the gold and then watching you ride off while I waited for my son. It was really cool to see all the young racers from out east. I have *never* been on a hill with that many plate riders before and I have never seen so many coilers and SGs in my life...not to mention all the Oxess and Kesslers for the BX races that were happening that day.
  14. I'll be there Wed AM. Black helmet, coat, pants, and black camo AM 171...I'll be there with the fam so, mostly on the silver chair. I'll try to get the boys to go up top...we'll see. Gary
  15. I should be at Nakiska on the 4th, either on the coiler or the supercross, depending on conditions. Hope to see you there!
  16. Please send pics of the speedster to garybergmann@gmail.com. Also a shipping quote (or guess) to Calgary, Canada. Thanks! Gary
  17. I'll be out there again that week...kids out of school so booked a condo near by. I'm banking on snow...not here in Calgary tho...it's pretty brown. Hopefully we get a late dump in the mountains like we did last year.
  18. Must have softened up for today...just enough for good edge grip on the lower blues and no crust to break through. I didn't find any ice where I was riding. Didn't head up gold tho...may have been crispy up there.
  19. How was it out there today? I'm heading up tomorrow (monday). Thanks!
  20. Heading up on Monday, if anyone is skipping work...
  21. Can't commit yet...if you haven't already, feel free to sell to the next in line (assuming I was first). Gary
  22. In line...if you'll ship to Canada and the pics look ok... So, will you ship to Canada (postal code T2Y 3K6)? Lemme know the approx $$$.
  23. That was the first NES for me, and definitely not my last. Next time I need to not hurt myself a week before and get rid of scheduling conflicts so I could come out more than just Sat and actually hang out with you guys later on! It was great meeting all of you and actually riding with some hardboot brethren, and sisterthen (?), for a change. Thanks!
  24. Gonna try to get there for Sat AM (gotta work on Fri). Whether I can make it, ride, or RIDE depends on how the ribs feel (riding too hard for the soft snow at COP last tues...haven't flown like that in a loooong time). Gary
