  1. Here's an article that might help... http://www.bomberonline.com//articles/setup.cfm
  2. Wait a minute.... bowling is cool?!?
  3. make sure you read the last paragraph... http://www.cyclenews.com/ShowStory.asp?HeadlineID=7112
  4. FP164 radius is 11.74m. Prior's 175 is 11.9m, Donek's 171 is 11.2m.
  5. I wouldn't go less than 150. I would think an FP would be fine if he is athletic.
  6. You might try Panorama Factory to create a panorama first that you can use as a background. It will be all but seamless, and I *think* it adjusts exposure of the frames. http://www.panoramafactory.com/
  7. Sweet!! Now I can stop wearing my jock/cup backwards! ;)
  8. Scott, it is soooo time for an alpine setup. Check out the classifieds, ebay, Deeluxe 413's... anything man, just stop the madness!!!
  9. now that is a great shot. cute kid. let me guess, ISO1600, 20D? 50mm f/1.8?
  10. exactly. they had them at the x games. they also use them for pro football.
  11. I think it's totally personal preference. I used to have an FP167-210. Right, 210mm waist width. Great board.
  12. Now this is what I'm talkin' bout. I'll email you.
  13. <b>JoelP</b>, you are the man with the inside dope. How are the temperatures? Here in NE, I am used to wearing fleece pants, snow pants, polypro shirt, sweater, fully insulated parka, helmet, and often a balaclava. When I went to Tahoe, just a polypro shirt and a shell were all I needed on top. Is Aspen similar?
  14. I'm sorry if I've gotten people's hopes up prematurely. This is just in concept stage only. <i>Many</i> things will have to fall into place before this will happen ($$$$ to say the least). I don't think we could afford to hire professional videographers/producers and such, we'd probably have to rely on some generosity from the carving community. I have no video editing skills or equipment. You know what would be sick is one of those remote "tram cams" (I just made that up) like I saw being used for the recent X-games coverage, where the camera zooms down a wire strung over the trail.
  15. They're pretty much obsolete. here's why: http://www.bomberonline.com//articles/asymetric.cfm although Pureboarding still makes one. www.pureboarding.com
  16. you can make an appointment with him through ski school. 207-237-2000. If you don't already have lift tickets, the mountain has some very attractive ski 'n stay packages. Otherwise try the Spillover Motel in Stratton, the Carrabassett Inn in Carrabassett Valley, or the Sugarloafer's Ski Dorm in Kingfield.
  17. This would just be a general carving video - I think a race technique video would need to be a separate thing.
  18. keep the knees apart. http://www.bomberonline.com//articles/seperate_zee_knees.cfm
  19. I think this needs to happen soon. (prolly not this year though)
  20. You can do whatever stands it up for you, but a good carver is proficient at both. For me the goal is A, and if a trail is uncrowded I'll do A the whole way down.
  21. Nope, they're external - look again. View the other movies there. Although I think when they're deflated, the board is flat.
  22. my head is flooded with inappropriate comments as to where they came up with that idea, I'll just stop typing now! :D
  23. No need to apologize. Explanations rarely work for <i>everyone</i>. correct. correct Pics coming soon. The grab is not the first thing you do - it's the last. The point is, you make a toeside carve low enough and angulated enough that your front hand (yes, left for regulars) can grab stuff like your boot cuffs or even the edge of the board. But yeah, it's probably just time for a lesson in person. Go see PSR or Beckman.
  24. I don't know where it is, but it was posted in this thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2932&highlight=preseason+tease (my original picture expired or something)
  25. Looking at your avatar, I wonder if your bindings are too far back? I've never ridden a Burner, but I've heard you're supposed to ride them more forward then a hardtail? Also - are you looking straight down hill? Another common error. Look where you want the board to go (across the hill), well in advance Maciek - cool calculator! Took me a few tries to figure it out, but it works well.
