  1. Looking for a pair of TD3 SW. Standard Bails. Using on small boots if that makes a difference. Probably looking at 2 3 degree cants, yellow or blue e-ring, and I think blue e-pads. I am happy to trade/ buy these options later too, I don't really know what to use without trying them anyway.
  2. Good to hear, hope your UPZs fit well. I may have to take a look at your bindings for future reference if I decide to go stepin later. I am pretty sold though on getting the TD3 SW though, even with a few annoyances I will have to figure out
  3. Hm, wonky bails and less adjustments are a little disappointing but kindof what I figured. Sucks having small feet and fitting best in boots that are smaller to begin with.
  4. No problem, happy hunting!
  5. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure if I can use UPZ m25s with the TD3 SW? I have read about problems in fitting the standard TD3s on small boots, I presume there will be similar issues with the sidewinders? The boots are marked 258/279mm on the shell. Will there be similar problems with Fin-Techs?
  6. Used Raichle 323's for sale, M24. Definitely have some time on them; everything is in working order, just cosmetics. I did not use them much as they were too small for me. Come with original liners. Boot is sized for 22-24.5 if you use your own liners. Good cheap pair of boots for someone just starting out. Asking for $90 +shipping More Pics here
  7. Here are some pics More can be found here as well
  8. If you already have molded footbeds that set your foot to the back you should be in pretty good shape. This is a video of how he said to put them on to help ensure that the foot is in the right place. https://youtu.be/T_8FGcnCGxc Oh, and keep in mind I have a high instep, if yours is not that high you should not have an issue with them over the top of your foot.
  9. I have got a pair of very slightly used/ like new pair of UPZ M27s with liners I am looking to sell. I believe they are 2011 year model, they are white with black and some red accents. I will post pics tomorrow. Pics now posted below. For the actual measurement markings on the boot and liner (incase you want to up or downsize), the liner is stamped with 7 1/2, shell interior with 7/7.5/8 and sole length is 278/299. You can find the UPZ sizing chart here: http://upzboots.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/sizechart-1024x270.png UPZs have a narrow heel cup compared to Deeluxe, great for those who have heel lift issues. They are sometimes not so kind on those with a tall instep, but as I have learned, a proper boot fitting and footbed solves that issue . I believe they have a roomier toe box than the Deeluxe do if I recall correctly... Selling only because I bought them and they were the wrong size. I included the chart above because we confused the 7 1/2 on the liner to be US size, where in actuality that is UPZ's own size indication. These boots do not even have a full day on them! Asking $300 Boots are Sold
  10. Yeah, I did not get a new liner, just the new footbeds, but yeah, I think the total was $239. Definitely pricy, but from things I have read the footbeds make the biggest difference in a boot fit, not the liner or anything. The footbeds he gives you are top quality too, should last 20+ years, and he knows exactly how to place your food so that when you are in your boot, your heel is all the way to the back and foot relaxed, yet tight. No more sore feet trying to fight the boots. I think it will make a big difference, but I have not tested them yet of course, no snow to speak of right now. I did not ask but it looked like he has a full 1 year guarantee at least for the footbeds, there was a sign on the wall referencing as such. He also shows you how to properly put on your boots with these new footbeds so that you properly place your heel... if you don't it gets very painful very fast. He also showed me where to mod on the liner if I still have extra pressure on the top of my foot. When talking with him on the phone before I went in, he did let me know he has had experience with both hard and soft snowboard boots, not just skis. He will ask you to bring in your board too BTW. Just from my experience with UPZ boots, unless you go to a dedicated boot fitter such as Claude, most are going to turn you away and say they cannot do much. They are intimidated by the boot because of how the tongue on the shell works. So in short, only time will truly tell, but yes, I think it was the better decision to make, and yes, he was able to work with me when others would not.
  11. Yeah, I would be interested at a lower price... Details on board? Waist, sidecut, weight range? How does it do in more crowded runs? Degrees on the TD3s? Looks like the uppers and lowers are yellow? Are you willing to sell seperate?
  12. So I went to Claud at Ski Net Sports yesterday, ended up getting custom orthotic footbeds that will last 20+ years. He found that my foot was too far forward in the boot, causing the top pressure and the heel lift problems I have always had. Only time will tell but they seemed much better in the shop!
  13. I have the Incline, great all around board. I usually use soft on it, but I did do hard once because of bad conditions and wanting to ride hard, it did work pretty well, but do keep in mind pmorita's comment about weight, it does get quite heavy especially with hard boot hardware attached. I'm still pretty new to the carving scene so I cant compair the board much. I would highly suggest contacting Sean at Donek and ask for their opinion, they can make better recommendations and build you something custom to fit your needs. Bruce at Coiler can do similar. For boots and bindings, it sounds like you would want a softer hard setup, or a very stiff soft setup. Others will probably have better recommendations here than I.
  14. The closest place to do some turns is Mt High, and I already know there is no boot fitter there, I've looked :) Going to him is probably about as close to the snow as I will get locally unfortunately... I actually tried to do that last season when I was in Utah, but the first place I went said they couldn't help me (unfamiliar with alpine and specifically UPZ), and I ran out of time to try a place across town from where we were staying.
  15. To clarify, I don't plan on actually mounting them over my bed, I would just like something secure for them so in theory I could haha. They may end up going over my desk above my computer, still trying to decide. Leash idea may work pretty well. The link is broken, I think you were trying to send this? http://www.amazon.com/Bordz-up-BORDZUP-SNOWBOARD-STORAGE-RACK/dp/B000TAR978 And so it seems like it would work, as the first picture is at an angle :)
  16. Yikes that's high! My absolute top limit in total would probably be $400, but that is all of the service, new liner, and new custom foot-bed. Even then, I'd prefer to keep it under $300, and there better be a full guarantee with it too.
  17. Looking to "display" store boards on the wall, base towards the wall, however I would like to not mount them just vertically which is what it seems 99% of the display type mountings do... I would preferably like to mount them at a 45 degree angle or really any angle, and would love to be able to take them down without too much effort, but still be secure on the wall enough to even put over my bed. I am in California, so earthquake problems would not be unheard of. Any ideas?
  18. So I am starting to prepare for what I am sure we are all hoping becomes a great winter. Last season I bought new boots and was having some small issues with them so I would like to get them fitted before the season starts... Anyone have suggestions for a good local boot fitter? Best I can find is Ski Net Sports (www.skinetsports.com/) They seem a little pricey, but it sounds like they really know what they are doing. Anyone had any experience with them?
  19. Can we make a separate whole forum for the narrow minded, egotistical, self righteous haters? Then all the rest of us can discuss and enjoy carving in peace. :) I enjoy soft and hard booting, and definitely need work and input on both. I would not mind a sub forum to be able to ask for input specifically on soft setup, but I have no problems with not having one. I would say that if enough soft riders are asking, then why not? The only disadvantage I can see is someone missing some really good input in a post because it is in a separate location that they may not visit as much, which could go both ways. But then again, it would be easier to find specific posts relating to soft setup....
  20. Ok, I have narrowed it down to a boot pressure point issue. Same liner, soft boots, no issues. The socks definitely helped today though. Going to see boot fitter tomorrow, may as well anyway
  21. Picked up some medium weight sock at sport chalet yesterday, out in utah for the next 4 days(!!) and will report back. Thanks!
  22. Will probably be at solitude. At powder mountain Wednesday, then snowbird Thursday, and prob solitude Friday and Saturday
  23. For sitting, I try and only purposefully stop on my toe side, much easier to get up. Of course, you will probably fall and need to get up from heel side, it is not very easy. Word of caution on the video: it is showing extreme carving technique, not angulation or bomber method. Some things will carry over, but others will contradict, namely the position of the hips, and tucking between or during the turns. I found this out after a very frustrating day on the slopes :)
  24. I had lots of heel lift in deeluxe boots, I got a pair of UPZs earlier this year and a world of difference it made. They tend to be cold, but the fit is unparalleled if you have a narrow heel. I have a pair of "used" like new (never seen the slopes) pair of UPZs size 27, from 2011-12 season if they fit you. They were sold to me as the wrong size.
