  1. Cool video, I liked watching where you were going through the goggle reflection. Shinny goggles! 1/2/2017 I was at Buck in the afternoon, soft snow but carvable, it was slow.
  2. I thought coffee mill was closed down, I saw it on Craig's List last year or maybe it was the year before.
  3. Yea, that's shitty about red tail ridge, and I don't think that stuff is going to leave since they have the tow rope there now :(
  4. 12/27/16 I road in the evening, snow was hard, mini grand cannons in some spots but overall was smooth to carve on the lift side of crossroads, a bit icy but the board held well. Not a day to learn how to snowboard... Probably a few people with bruised tail bones out there.
  5. Wonder what the hill will be like tomorrow, Patti and I were thinking about going to Buck in the morning. It's still raining.... Ug
  6. I got to Buck around noon, not a good day to forget your warm socks.... big toe got really cold. Had a headache the whole time too so I didn't stay long. Snow was soft. I thought you mentioned your BTS clicking last year too Bob? http://www.factmag.com/2016/12/19/blade-runner-2049-trailer-harrison-ford/
  7. Na, this is MN, that stuff needs to get groomed
  8. I'm going to Star Wars Sat morning, I'll be out Sunday. I was out Tuesday for a few runs, conditions were good.
  9. Road at Buck Friday night. Conditions were pretty good, hard packed and fast. There was spots of crunchy rough spots there were kinda icky. The snow was the best on Milk Run along the lift, the good spot gets a little skinny with the snow ridge drop off at the bottom of the run. Dunno how else to describe it. Snow seemed better on the Olympic side of cross roads. The MK seemed to hold a good edge, better than what I was expecting at times but I haven't ridden it enough to get a good feel for it yet. My stance felt a little too wide. Only took 6 runs, I was fatigued before the bottom of my first run. I'm out of shape, maybe riding with a plate for a few years has made me soft... Wonder if I put my plate on the MK, that would probably be sacrilegious. The MK seems to have a lot of board in front of the front binding.
  10. I'm planning to go to Buck sometime Friday evening. I see a lot of cloudiness in the forecast, might go out Sunday morning also.
  11. I just looked at the Milk Run cam, there is more grass showing than snow. I think they were charging full price on Black Friday for a ticket, that was kind of a rip off. I feel bad for the people that didn't have season passes.
  12. Guessing you're gone or skipped out Bob. You're not missing out on much, spring like conditions, the snow is soft, flat light. Just walking in my boots I would drop down about 4 inches in the snow. I took one run, buried my nose with out any effort. They haven't been grooming because it's been too warm. They put the Nevaplast on the loading/get off of the lifts ;(
  13. I might go out tomorrow morning but I have to take Darby to the vet at 9 first. Got the MK waxed this morning, need to do some scrapping tonight.
  14. Looks like crossroads and milk run are open, but I don't know what the grooming the is like. Might be kinda springish conditions. Edit: I might go out Saturday morning
  15. Buck start making snow? I was driving down Normandale and I could see the guns running at Highland. Powder Ridge started making snow too.
  16. Did you make it out on the ski's? I've had a really busy month with work and helping my mom get my parents house ready to sell. My dad took a job with American Honda and he's been out in California for training. At the end of year my parents will be living in Texas. I've been watching the recent videos added on this forum and I feel like I've forgotten how to snowboard... It's been so long.
  17. I haven't heard of them, planning to go to Insight for beer and doughnuts from Rebal Doughnuts later today. I'll have to add Clockwerk to the list. I never got into Bioshock, but the theme sounds fun. We are Jensens right now for breakfast, this is the place you said was really good, right? Patti and I went to Nutmag a couple weeks ago, their IPAs are bad, they have no taste, just the taste of alcohol.
  18. It's lubbed, and they added a sprinkler system. I would like to think Nevaplast did some kind of inspection and hand holding process during the installation, I'm sure enough money was spent on it...
  19. Rune any of Buckhills boards yet Bob? I wonder what generates more heat, being on edge carving, sliding on an edge, or bombing straight down the hill. Maybe if you wear the base off you could start your wood core on fire.
  20. Might use an old non-alpine board with some plate bindings the next go. The Nevaplast run all the way down to the chair or do you have to walk to it?
  21. I must have miss-read your email, the quote you have from Buck said they were having better luck with sinistered bases. I was thinking their rental gear was sinistered. Wonder what my Burton is...
  22. On a side note, I think pretty much all motorcycle brakepads are now sinistered, dunno about cars.
  23. Your board cracked at the edge in the top picture? I think you swapped the terms, coilers and doneks are extruded but you want a sinistered base for this stuff. How I understand it, an extruded base is solid plastic. A sinistered base has tons of little air pockets in it, it's very porous, which is good for wax absorption but in this case very good for resisting tempature change. Vinyl windows kinda work the same way, the frames aren't solid plasltic, they have air chambers, the more, the more energy efficient they are which is to say they resist the changing the temp between inside and outside. I'd like to give this stuff another shot sometime. All you can eat taco bar tonight at the new restaurant I think.
  24. Textured rubber gloves? They might grip well once before they start melting. There is no winning with this tow rope. Try to grip with your hands as far apart as comfortable, then push down with your forward hand and up with your back hand, the physics makes sense in my head. Sliding up hill on plastic is wierd, on snow you can weight an edge and control yourself. This doesn't work on plastic, that stuff is hard so you don't sink in, instead you just glide on top of it. Which also makes carving kinda wonky.
  25. In the image above, only my toe side looked like that, probably cause I was able to dig the edge in deeper than heel side.
