O.K. how bout' $250.00 shipped to ConUSA?
  4. Wolf Creek is classic for getting copious amounts of snow ealy in the season. I made a trek down there once in mid november, and had days of fresh, truley unforgetable.
  5. I spent an unbelievable day at last years SES at Snowmass on th Madd BX board, in soft boots no less. While others seemed pretty unhappy with the overcast and windy conitions I spent the day doing laps of the hanging garden area and was wowed. The Madd handled the steeps, trees and pow glades like a champ. Stiff and responsive with quick edge to edge, yet lighter than most pow boards. I have size 12 feet so my ideal freeride board would be a bit wider but I think the tortional ridgidity helped it feel firm underfoot. In hind sight I should have also tried it with hard boots just to get the feel but I have little doubt it would be a great all arounder. tom

O.K. got some good ones of the nose. It was harder than I thought it would be to get representative pics. Damadge was to the top sheet, abs and edge are fine. Top sheet lifted in little short strips, and a small corner of one strip was broken off and is visible in the pics but was filled in with epoxy and has been solid since. I could not really get a good picture of the edge before my camera ran out of juice. The damadge is really pretty minimal, it's to the right side edge, I guess I would call it a scrape across the edge at an angle, maybe an inch long. The base edge and sidewall are all sound and otherwise undamadged. The rest of the board has wear consistent with normal use, binding scuff, a few lift line dents and scuffs, but nothing major. Again please email me with any questions or for more pics. Thanks for looking! tom

    Prior WCR 175

Used Prior WCR 175, 19.5 waist, circca 01/02. The board is in great shape and probably has 40 days on it. It has been well ridden and maintained, frequently waxed and edge tuned. Base has never been base ground and could probably use one, I just don't trust anyone to do a grind nearby. Measurements are identical to current wcr 175 specs ( www. priorsnowboards.com ). Only issues are a small bit of lifted top sheet on the nose, aprox 1/2", from running into stubbies, which has been solid since it was repaired and a small rough spot on one of the edges which a base grind would erase. Neither are major, just want to be upfront. All in all a great board which will not dissapoint. I tried previously to post pics but they were too big so please email me and I will get full board and edge/ nose pics to you. Asking $300.00 O.B.O Email me at tomlapinskiAThotmailDOTcom with questions or for pics. Cheers!!! Tom
  9. The guys sponsored by viagra never made it up for their second run. (Sorry, don't know where that came from.. . . .)
  10. Although I have never tried to control a sled containing a broken overweight tourist. I have taught many a never ever board lesson (with Fin and Michelle no less, at Copper Mtn. back in the day) and a season of instruction definately takes its toll. Don't get me wrong, I had loads of fun, met great friends, rode a butt load, learned a bunch, but definately spent my second season looking for ways to duck out of work, and was pretty successful! Luckily, I had another job in the evening which payed the bills. Unfortunately I had to stand all evening which was dificult after riding all day. Patroling, while it is undoubtedly lot's of work for crappy pay would likely get one out on the hill and off the never ever slope. Not to mention, special secret mountain info, poaching rights, and of coarse you get to play with explosives, oh thats right and help people who are hurt. I am always floored by the mountain greeter, representitive people who get paid to smile, say hi, and gush general information. Oh better yet, try and get the job at snowmass handing out the mid-morning cookies and coffee treats at the mid station!!!! Yeah do that, do that!!!!!!

  18. Try initiating the heelside with pressure on the noseward-heelside of your leading leg calf. Another way to think of it is driving into the turn with your lead hip to initiate heelside pressure. If exagerated you should feel pressure all along the side ( IT band ) of your lead leg. The practice drills linked in Jack's post are a fantastic way to help you with upper and lower body positioning, knee flexure and weight transfer. Remember to use knees to get to these positions and keep triing because some will likely feel stranger than others. Oh yeah, also read Dan B's piece on your butt and where it should be in the tech articles page. I also ride with steep stance angles, 65deg. ish, because of my big feet and it means more lateral leg/knee pressure. Cant enough that you feel you have a comfortable stance but not so much that your knees are together. It's nice to have room to drive forward with you rear leg without running into the front feg, and it also give you a more stable base. Many people cant just the front foot. cheers!!!
