  1. Dohhh, having trouble compressing pics, must. . . ... . get....... . . . . . . . . . lo res.
  2. As an epilog to the award winning video shown at the SES final party I came across some stunning pics of Big Jim preparing to ride the bull wheel. Held firmly to the chair by has butt pack Big Jim was unable to unload at the ramp. Just as I stood up to slide down the ramp Jim began shreiking, " Tom, I can't get off, I can't get off!" Poor, poor Jim! I laughed so hard I nearly dropped my sandwhich, in fact I was laughing enough that the pics of him rounding bull wheel were blurred. I'll try and be more steady next time. Pics are of the liftie running to console Big Jim, the liftie consoling Jim, Highlands bowl from the upper chair, last pitch of the climb before the summit, Big Jim relieving himself before the summit. Ahhhhhh, enjoy. Tom

  4. I have had really good luck using heat prior to gluing, iron, blowdrier, or even heat gun, the latter prolly with caution. The thought is that warming the core pulls more epoxy in. Also most hardware stores have c-clamps with three screws, one at each end of the "c" and one in the middle. These let you clamp to the board and apply even pressure to the edge during epoxy set. May need to use a few clamps. Just make sure to protect base and top sheet, park cone wrenches work well. I splurged and got some fancy swiss base repair specific epoxy, works really well but regular old epoxy may work well also. tom
  5. Hey Dan, I purchaced a 60 cm. campeone mid season last year and love it. It is light, stiff, affordable, but perhaps not the most durable from a longevity point of view. I dissagree with linus' thought of harshness. I have owned a steel ritchey logic and a couple bontragers prior to the salsa, and the campeone is even more plush. I think the carbon fore and aft makes a big difference. In fact I liked the ride so much I picked up a salsa cross bike too. Cheers Tom
  6. Hi trikerdad, I'm pretty sure we met at the SES but I didn't get a chance to hear your creaky knee. I am a dentist here in the midwest and I belive that you have had a tooth growing in your knee. Yep, remember that pesky wisdom tooth that never came in with all the others? Well, it ended up erupting down in your knee, convieniently, under your kneecap. Please place it under your pillow. Cheers! Tom :D

  11. Kind of an odd drill I learned about is riding with your arms crossed over shoulders. Sounds strange, feels stranger. Danger This is a great one to try when your feeling pretty confident with your riding because it makes balance and fluid movement more difficult. It forces one to stay centered, compact, and makes one sort of overuse for/aft weight transfer, flexion/extention, rotation etc. to compensate for less upper body movement. Seems like it helped me with heelside edge initiation, and definately helps eliminate crazy arms or hand reaching/dragging. Cheers Tom
