  1. I had a 1990 CBR1000F

I started on a Puch moped. does that count?

80's CB 750, CB650, Then onto a 90's CBR1000F, a black one! looking at yours, Geoff. Brings back memories, can't figure out why I never took a picture of it.

Nowadays these reside in my garage.....

  2. howdy paul k

just wondering whats the specs of your coiler?

    west carven

    Hey West,

Here are the stock specs from Coiler website.

    173 FreeCarve

    155 running length

    18.5 waist

    10.5 side cut radius

    0 taper

When I ordered the board, It was then built to suit my weight, I'm sorry I don't remember the flex rating stamped in the sidewall. It would probably be a different number for you anyways.

I see you've been looking for a board,

Did I mention this is my favorite board? Best performance for the money?

I'm buying another one when this one finally wears out(3 seasons so far), and adding a 169 AM to replace the old Burton for the woods of Big Mtn.

(Coiler: A board by any other name is...well, just crap.)

  3. I got a chance to Demo one of the alpine shapes at the ECES, Think taper. like "Burton Fish" taper. Makes a great big mountain, high speed powder board. This could very well be the next "Madd" snowboard company, ie., radical design, limited production, off-site manufacturing(still made in the USA though).. For carving, its a different shape than most everything current. If your looking for unique, these are for you.

  4. Nope, not telling. Certainly not letting you guys get a hold of him!

You guys have been so good to me (snif) I couldn't leave, ever, not even for a great guy. You wouldn't see my smiling face at the SES (snif) and no one would get their Bomber goodies in their stockings at Xmas......

We all love what to do for us:)

But I will sell information to the highest bidder.....

Look for it on Ebay...And I might have pictures from aspen..LOL.

On second thought....The pictures could work against me.

I know nothing. saw nothing. heard nothing.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

  5. Ahhhh, so much time has passed since, AND so many more shenanigans... in this particular case though, the journey failed me... Email me with shipping address, I have the new parts for your helmut. May the luck of the Irish be with you. ECES 2008? "Shenanigans from the Short Bus"

  6. Top ten reason to go to Stowe

1)Good expert rated trails(front four), good intermediate(gondi line?), and excellent beginner/intermediate over across the road(spruce peak?). Legendary backcountry trails.

2)The best neutral place for a Demo tent, by the gondola.

3)Stowe has the Best town for the "significant other" to go shopping in during the day:)

4)Stowe is a good compromise between the isolation of Sugarloaf(no nightlife, or town really), to the crowds at K-mart(kinda like a small city, think a slice of NYC)...

5)I think of Stowe as the Aspen of the northeast.

6)On our "day off", Smugglers notch, Jay Peak, Sugarbush, Bolton, City of Burlington, all within easy drive. Heck we can even road trip to Killington if need be.

7)If we want to be "noticed" at the mountain, we would have more of a presence at Stowe, instead of being lost in the crowds at K-mart.

8)I almost forgot, we could invite Jake Burton to join us for the week, Stowe was his home mountain at one time.

9)The Burton factory is right up the road in Burlington.

10)Canadians are more fun than NYcity folk.

  7. Has anyone had issues with poor quality control on their BTS out of the box.

Just got mine in mail today with mashed threads on main rod, and two tension nuts with the index dot very close to the center hole mashing those threads in , one probably destroying rod threads at factory assembly, and the second top tension nut so indented as to not allow threading fully on to the main rod.

Have had good luck with TD1s n TD2s but am not impressed so far with BTS build quality.

Have phoned and emailed but no response yet from Bomber.

Just venting, I guess that the risk of mailorder.

    Dave*

My .02 The "index dot" is intentionally close to the center threads to provide mechanical friction (thread distortion) when the nut is screwed onto the rod..think mechanical loctite. As far as the rod threads being damaged, this is also an intentional side effect. You need to use a wrench, the nuts should not screw onto the rod by hand. The intent is to prevent the BTS from losing adjustment while riding.

Go ahead and assemble it. If you damage the rod so bad that the threads are stripped, then I would say there is a problem, but my BTS were shipped the same way and it all worked out fine.

Of course this advice is not officially Bomber approved, so your results may vary. They don’t typically respond to phone or email for a few days though.

Edit: Fin is quick, me not so quik:)

  8. Buggs, just wondering if you changed up your binding angles/cants at the same time you started using the BTS.. I'm riding with the blue springs on both boots, top nut cranked down to keep the boot with minimum static forward lean, which also limits the maximum lean under load... My ankles also felt better after switching to BTS.

  9. No one would want to go...I had to walk for 5 minutes from my cheap condo to the lifts every morning, I never stood in lift lines, instead it was always go go go get back to the top, The airport Valet always spells your name wrong, The cordouroy would last past noon, making us all late for lunch, they always seem to groom only one additional, really steep trail at the end of the week that no one wants to ride anyways, The only other people I see on the mountain are the one's who came with us, and we are all pretty smelly by the end of the week, After they kick us off the lifts I can hardly walk to dinner because of the altitude, or is it the kicking Apres-ski parties, or the 2 hottubs and pool right outside the cheap condo? Don't even start on the locals, they would lead you around the mountain blind, showing off all sorts of off-piste terrain, then have you believe that they didn't kidnap you, for a night or two in Whitefish...And last but not least, watch out for the Canadian tourists, they will drink you under the table, and then tell you they pilot helicopters in the morning(and that isn't even the foggiest part of the trip for some of us).

No don't go to Montana, you would never believe any of Shred's stories anyhow.

    Doc,

How in Hell, Hellroaring Saloon that is, would we feed all these people if they did show up? "Hi we would like 25 chocolate milks please" and "please don't use the sour milk:)" and "could we order the chicken pot pie, on seperate checks, thank you".

Aw heck, I won't go next year if someone wants my spot.....I didn't even see Elle Mcpheirson fighting for first tracks like we did in Aspen.

  10. Anybody heading up this Wednesday 2/21/07 - It would be my first time back in a few years...looking for some tips on handling my new Madd - John G.

I'd hate to think I have the wrong guy here, BUT, anyone who signs off as John G. and talks up Madd snowboards doesn't need any tips from the likes of me... Would be great to see you riding again though.. How about some midweek days up at Stratton, where 58's rule the land...
