  1. So to piggy back on this thread and the notion of wide boards and binding angle I remember reading something here about lower angles and them nullifying toe/heel lift and that there is an angle that you want to start laying off the lifts.

I just picked up a thirst CC with a 23.5 waist so I am wondering if anyone has some tips as to whether I should try a toe/heel lift on my f2s with their standard 4.5? As of now I have my f2s with both toe and heel with their respective lifts.

  2. Broke my leg in 2 places as a kid sledding.

I am only 5 seasons in but man do I love this sport.

Let's see, broke a wrist 3 years ago. Had a slam heelside 2 years ago that seemed to loosen some intercostal stuffs which took a while to heal. Some whiplash from that one aswell and last but not least last year I was having a fantastic day on the last day of the season but I was messing with my new .951s and got my first lowback spasm and boy was it nasty. I was getting lazy and not stretching enough towards the end of the season. Almost passed out when I stood up after resting for a bit at home. Ears ringing and tunnel vision. Luckily a friend was over and helped me out with a muscle relaxer. Ended up going in to the hospital the pain was so bad.

I try to ride wiser not harder now. Got my schedule changed so I can ride 2 days during the weekdays.

  3. Looks like we need some water in here because we're getting real Thirsty. Can't wait to try this bad boy out! First Thirst for New Mexico! He added a little New Mexico flair to boot with our beloved Zia symbol. I am so happy with the result.

    8RW 18.7cm waist.

It'll be the narrowest waist I've ridden yet as per Mark's recommendation so I said why not! If the virus boys can ride 17cm why can't I ride a 18.7? Should be interesting and quick edge to edge.

  4. @Atom Ant Same thing with me. I ordered some gecko carves back in July and haven't heard anything. I was assuming that it would be ordered later as the preorders say things are sent out in November? I know the info is very old so idk? I just want my geckos and dont want to have to call my credit card to get this refunded.

  5. I have the dont trip poppies on my gbomb and I absolutely love them. They are a much pricier option as opposed to the Bennett or trackers. I have over 500 miles on them and they're still great. I also highly reccomend grabbing a gbomb setup too if you have the cash.

  6. I was just taught this season the Loveland hand signals. If you have at least one buddy he goes down the slope ahead of you and looks back up the slope. Right arm up in the air means all clear no ones coming and it's safe to go. Arms crossed in an X means someone is coming through your fall line route and to stop or cease carving line. Thanks Pete for the lesson! And if you're alone always look up hill.

  7. After all I have heard about this board I think I have the thirst bug and I'm going to need one for next season.  I have my eyes set on this model. I think this board will be perfect in my quiver. Any recommendations for the 8RW width per a 29 size boot? Can he do this board titanal or should I not bother? I heard some murmurs about that. Can't wait for next season already!

  8. So for me it was getting my Coiler EC and drilling the full C carves on an empty hill. Get yourself moving across the hill and drop down very low in knees hips and ankles and put that board on angle. Its almost like that feeling of falling into the turn, ie the point of no return. Full committal to the edge. Drill this and work on getting the body into a tight compression. I am 6'4" and so it took me a lot of work in the mind body connection to realize just how tight and compact I needed to be to get that board to angulate. Now that I am slicing though the snow in a more loaded/deeper position my endurance has increased greatly letting the board do more of the work. I am addicted to the edge now!!!

After riding my 1st ECVC from Bruce last year I decided on a little longer, a little wider, a little more SCR. Can't wait to ride her hard over Xmas. Should make for longer, faster laid out carves! Can't say enough about the work Bruce puts into his boards especially when you're a picky bastard like me about colors and graphics. His new software really helps with those hard bright colors and cleaned up the darks. And a special shout out to my buddy Nico Plouffe for creating the awesome graphics for me again. Nic and Bruce work together quite a bit. So you can't beat their combo. Last year's model with the skulls, this year with the flames.

    Very sweet ride man....

I cannot help wondering with all the symbols, however, if I will some day see Marvels Dr Strange taking it out for a ride... all mystical and all...

Oh no! I now need to find a Dr. Strange outfit! Casting spells down the mountain hehe 😂

  11. After my first three alpine snowboarding seasons on demo/used boards it was finally time to get my very own custom board. Shout outs to Corey and Barry for the inspirations to go for the EC coiler. I am sad my fellow hardbooter yasu has moved up to Colorado so I'll be holding it down out here in New Mexico although I can't wait to get back up to Loveland to hang with the Loveland carving crew.  You guys were amazing! Extra shout out to @big mario and @Carvin' Marvin. I will hit you up Marvin for those accommodations if that's still available 😁

I call her my EECCC - Extreme esoteric carving coiler contraption. Thanksgiving will be my first day on her
