  1. I went out Monday afternoon after a 12 inch dump ( a lot for Minnesota) on my Prior Pow-Stick. First time up the lift the liftie said "Hey, thats a really nice old board". I responded that it was only from last season and he said "yeah, but it's got that cut out of the tail just like an old school board and I haven't seen hard plates for a long time". Each time through the line we had a good chat about boards.
  2. I believe these should work, they even have the burton logo. I would email bomber to confirm compatibility. http://www.bomberonline.com/store/bindings/Ibex_disks.cfm
  3. These sound like FUN! I may try to get a pair for my wife(we wear the same DIN size boots) and then I can steal them from time to time. Thanks for the tip!
  4. A little late on the review, but here goes.... These skis are the BEST carving boards I have ever been on. My last ski was a Nordica Speedmachine Mach3 which was no slouch either, but these respond much quicker than the Nordicas. The edge to edge transition is lightning quick as long as you stay forward on the ski. On soft groomed snow you can put down railroad track trenches with these, but they are also great on ice. The ski seems to have no speed limit, at least not that I had enough room to find on 1000 vertical feet of hill. The ski can be skidded through the turns and it is easier to do than on a stiff Volkl race ski but it doesn't respond well to anything but a carved turn. They also don't like to be run flat as the tips chatter when not on edge, but you really won't want to do anything other than carve on these. I wouldn't recommend these for anyone who uses an old school technique as they would just be fighting the ski through every turn. If you like to ski I would recommend this ski as a frontside carver!
  5. I will take them if Newcarver does not.
  6. I have some friends that rescued a greyhound from racing. She is the one of the sweetest dogs I have ever been around. Everytime I am at their house she greets me and then waits for praise and attention, she is one of the greatest dogs I have had the pleasure of meeting. I can't imagine even going to "dog track" to watch the abuses that happen to these poor animals.

    Board Bags

The bag arrived and looks great, thanks!
  8. I love the R32. My wife has a GTI that will need to be replaced in the next few years. She really has enjoyed her car so I think the new Golf R would be a great replacement.
  9. Many of the AWD cars have a system that only drives the rear wheels when there is slipping detected. The Subaru is a full AWD car, the STi even has an adjustable center differential allowing the driver to change the amount of torque between the front and the back. I may also be just a bit of a Subaru fan
  10. And you keep a round in the chamber? WTF? A firearm without a round in the chamber is just an expensive paperweight hanging off your belt (or other location of your holster). If one who has a CCW permit would, God forbid, ever need to use the weapon the last thing that person should worry about is chambering a round.
  11. queequeg A Subaru with snow tires is hands down the best winter vehicle for on road driving. I have owned 4 of them and they are great. I would recommend Nokian Hakkapeliita Snow Tires. They are a little more expensive than the Blizzaks or other brands but they are MUCH better tires. I had a set on a 2000 Impreza RS that I sold with 102,000 miles and the tires had at least two seasons of tread left. That car ruled the road in the snow. Do some searches on Nokians and you will see they are the ultimate winter tire. I currently have a Magnum AWD Hemi with Winterforce tires. I bought the Magnum because I needed to be able to do some light towing. Suffice to say that I really miss my Subaru and will be getting one when the Magnum needs replacing.
  12. I am going to put my softies on it to get a feel for the board and then mount up my Cateks. I am new to hardboots and can't wait to be using them exclusively.
  13. I will take it, email sent!

    Board Bags

2nd in line for Donek bag, email sent!
  15. I just got a pair of the 171's and am having Tyrolia freeflex 11s mounted. The Palmers have the Kessler logo right on the ski! I will be using them on Sunday and will get some feedback posted. From reading the reviews it sounds like the 155s would be perfect for my wife.
  16. I volunteer on the ski patrol at my local hill and am among 55 other volunteers, we only have a few paid patrollers as we are a small hill. I can't think of anyone that I know on the patrol that would be described by any of the adjectives above. These people are the best group that I have had the pleasure of working with. Everyone is fairly laidback and we have a great management staff that communicates very well with the patrol. The ski area manager is a great guy( he also patrols) who explained to me when I first started that 90% of our job is PR, talking to people on the hill in the lift line, helping people out around the hill and always having a smile on our face. I cannot imagine working in a patrol as described above. I feel sorry for anyone in that situation. I feel even worse for customers of the hill or mountain that have had the misfortune of running into that type of patroller.
  17. FREE- I volunteer on the ski patrol and that is one of the perks!
  18. Those Damian daggers were cool looking though! I seem to remember seeing videos where Damian was riding plates in the halfpipe.
  19. SEJ has a 178 Prior 4wd that he and I have been pm'ing on. It looks like a great board, I just decided to go in a different direction. Give him a message.
  20. ursle, I am going to use them for awhile at least, but I'll let you know if they come up for sale.
  21. I also have an old Sanders design 164 that I just mounted my new to me cateks on last night. I am going to try hardboot riding with this board to get used to the feel of it. It was sad to see this company go. I learned to ride on a Damian Sanders board when I was 13. The grey one with the skull dagger( cool when you were 13).
  22. Thanks for the info, I'm kicking myself for not buying your Fin-tec heels after receiving these intecs. I'll have to talk NSXs with Bruce at Coiler. This a great forum with a wealth of knowledge.
  23. I bought a used pair of intec heels and was trying to mount them on my Raichle SB 324s. Do the intecs require a different screw than the OEM mounting screw? I guess I figured since I bought the boots and the heels from the same seller(Ebay) they would include all the necessary hardware:mad: Thanks for any responses!
  24. I have been boarding on softies for 15yrs and love carving. I want to switch to an alpine setup and just need a good starter board. Nothing fancy, just something inexpensive to get started with. I am 6'1'' and 210 lbs. Please email with anything you have. Thanks!
