  1. ...that wouldn't mind giving intermediate beginner a few pointers? I've been riding for a couple of years now and things are starting to click for me, but I'm sure my technique could use some "adjustment". I alternate between going to Crystal and Caberfae, usually going to Crystal on Sundays. Is free beer enough of an incentive for a few tips? Thanks, Kurt
  2. That sounds great! I'll be going, with or without my wife. Fortunately she's very understanding about stuff like this. And she's not one to miss a great social event.
  3. This will be my first time at SES. I plan on participating on as many of the events as possible. (I have so much to learn...) My wife is balking at the $70 per person fee for the banquet Friday night. For those of you that have been before, what would you say justifies the cost for you? This most likely will be the only time I attend SES, so the cost means very little to me. Thanks, Kurt
  4. That is sweet! I'm going to be near Crystal Saturday, is it worth stopping in and checking out the swap?
  5. Hey thanks for all the responses. I'll definitely be planning on staying in Aspen. Now if the airline ticket prices drop a bit I'll be all set.:D
  6. Speaking of lodging, my wife and I will be attending SES for the first time this year. We are flying out with no plan to rent a car. It sounds like the bus system will take us anywhere we want to go. Any thoughts on lodging? Should I be looking primarily at Aspen locations, or are places near Buttermilk and Snowmass easy to get around from as well?
  7. I really hope that someone pays full price for that catalog... since I have the same one at home. Maybe I'll list it for half that price......
  8. I'm looking for a pair of TD2's. Step-ins preferred, but would consider standards. Also, I already have the second board kit if someone would want to keep that part of their setup. Thanks, Kurt
  9. Here's the plan (if anyone's interested). My wife and I will arrive in Salt Lake Wednesday around 1:30, pick up a few groceries and lift tickets and then head over to Epic Brewing (for one). Thursday we were thinking of heading to Snowbird, and then three days of Brighton and Solitude with one day off in between. It sounds like there will be some new snow before we arrrive. Yea! If anyone would like to join us your more than welcome. Kurt
  10. Hey Ron, thanks for the info. I'll definitely let you know when it get's closer to our arrival.
  11. My wife and I are flying out to Salt Lake next month.(March 21-27) We'll be staying at Brighton and plan on riding Snowbird and Solitude as well. Anyone have suggestions as to what runs are on the "must ride" list out there?
  12. The area I usually ride is quite small. As a result some of the lift operators are used to seeing me ride out there. At the end of one day this exchange takes place: Liftie (Irv) to female friend: "That guy is the best alpine rider out here." Me: "Irv, I'm the only alpine rider out here!" Irv: "Oh no, there's TWO other guys!"
  13. All right, here's a couple more... "Don't ride angry" "Stay edgy my friend" "Come to the dark side" "You are creating a hazard!" (my favorite quote from last year)
  14. If you go with a standard setup almost any binding will work. Bomber, Catek, Burton Race plates... I'm sure others will chime in with other suggestions as well. I've used a step-in system with these boots with Fin-tec heels and Bomber TD2 step-in bindings. I do have a paypal account.
  15. Still available, and they will fit a 28.5 liner.
  16. How about these? http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=35032
  17. Oakley Jawbone sunglasses. Lemon Peel frame. Fire Iridium/ Clear lenses. Comes with hard and soft carrying cases. I won these in a duathlon last month and unfortunately my advanced age is preventing me from pulling of this "look". If any of you are younger or at least more of a hipster, well these are for you. $100 + shipping. p.s. - proceeds from this sale will go towards a new BTS.:)
  18. SOLD! I purchased these boots almost three years ago. They have less than thirty days on them. There is a 1" tear in the shell from accidently buckling the boot with part of the tongue out, causing it to cut into the shell. It does not appear to be getting an larger though. The boots are in great shape other wise and the heels are intec compatable. The liners are Deeluxe and have been molded at least six times and have padding added to fit my narrow feet. $110 + shipping Kurt Showing small tear.
  19. I just had the heel punched out this week and gained a lot of room in the cable area. The boots feel much better just walking around in them. I'm hoping to put them to the test in A-basin in a couple of weeks.
  20. Sultan, Yeah, I molded the liners with the cable in the boot. The boot heel is just so narrow that I think I'll feel the cable no matter what I do. I'm going to have the heel stretched out tonight. Hopefully that gets rid of the pain.
  21. The heels of my boots seem to be on the narrow side, so I'm not sure if adding some padding on either side of the cable is gonna' make the situation worse. My rear foot is actually more painful than the front. I did notice less pain if the buckle over the ankle wasn't cranked down as hard. More experimentation I guess!
  22. I recently purchased a set of boots (Deeluxe 325) and molded the liners. After a couple of hours riding I began to experience some pain on the outside of both heels where the cable runs up the side of the liner. I'm wondering about have the heels punched out where the cable is. Anyone else have this experience? What was your solution?
  23. Dave, I'm interested in your boots. I'd like to know if they have either the BTS system or Fintec heels and whether or not they've been heat-molded. Oh and your asking price. Email me at kswanson at walkertool dot com Thanks, Kurt
