  1. One of my Burton Wind boots has developed a crack in the top of the shell above the ankle, so I'm thinking it is time to upgrade. I've been looking at Deeluxe Track 225's mostly because I have narrow feet. I'll be travelling to A-Basin around the end of April so I'd like to have the boot situation sorted out by then. My foot length is 28.1cm. My questions are as follows: 1. Are the Track 225's the best fitting boots for narrow feet? 2. Anyone else with narrow feet downsize a boot and then have the toes punched out? 3. Are there any shops anywhere near Dillon CO where I could try on some boots? (if I don't buy boots before my trip)
  2. Board arrived last night, looks great. Can't wait to try it out.
  3. What year was this board made? You said that it was too stff for you, can I ask your weight? Thanks.
  4. KneeDeep, Make it $225 for everything, shipping included and you have a deal.
  5. Selling separately, I'll go $100 for the Race Plates and $150 for the Oxygen. Plus whatever shipping works out to be.
  6. I'm the second owner (at least) so I have know idea of how many days are on this board or even what year it is.
  7. Bump Great beginner setup. I will sell the bindings and board seperately. Someone help a brutha trying to finance a new board!
  8. SOLD! Oxygen slalom board w/ Burton Race Plates included. I also have the 3d inserts if anyone is interested. 156 length Nose 24.0 Waist 20.0 Tail 24.4 Not sure what the scr is on this one. Did a base grind on the board this past fall. $250 plus shipping.
  9. "temp membership to a bar". Laughed out loud when I read that. Sounds like we will be in for a little culture-shock out there. And I don't think I'll be able to find much for my beloved porters and stouts! Thanks for the information.
  10. The wife and I are considering a trip to Utah. Specifically the Salt Lake area. Anybody know if there are shuttles running between the various resorts? So far we are considering Brighton and Solitude. The main priorities for us are no crowds, moderate to advanced terrain and low cost. Decent beer is a plus as well. Any advice on lodging or must-visit ski areas would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Cool. I wear a Gray/ Black jacket and ride a blue Donek. I'll keep my eyes peeled.
  12. I'll be up there for the whole day. Anyone else in?
  13. Do you put the footbeds inside the liner or underneath, between the shell and the liner. I can't believe I haven't come across an explanation of this before.
  14. Hey McGurk, welcome aboard. I don't live too far from Cannonsburg. I'm only in my second season with hardboots and I might be able to give you some pointers, but I'm sure I can show you what not to do! :D What nights are you teaching?
  15. Knoch, I'm in Grand Rapids and I normally ride at Caberfae, but I will be planning trips to Crystal and Boyne this year as well. I'll have to post on the ride board before I hit those slopes.
  16. Hmmm.... What about a mini SES event? Let's say you post an invite in the regional forum near where you live. Set a date and location, invite everyone in the area to bring out their equipment. We try each others boards, give out pointers and then carve up the hill. I need to make this happen. Of course for most of you this is probably a typical weekend. Lucky...
  17. Yeah, I can easily picture myself going out to one of the SES events in the near future as my riding continues to progress. I was hoping to find a way to bring the equipment out here to other people who would like try carving. It seems to me once you get tired of the half-pipes, railslides and terrain parks, carving would be a natural progression progression for a lot of snowboarders. I'm 46 and that seems to be a fairly typical age on this forum.
  18. After 23 years of snowboarding and being disappointed with the lack of rigidity and support in "soft" boots I saw the light last year and got into riding hardboots. Had I known, I would have started 15 years ago! But since there was no equipment available to try or purchase, it made it difficult to get started in those days. Depending on where you live, it doesn't seem to be much easier now. So my question is how do you get the equipment out to people like me to tryout before purchasing? Is it possible (or feasible) to get vendors to send out boots, boards and bindings to various locations and have maybe some local people to give some basic carving instructions? I live in Michigan and would probably travel anywhere in the state if I knew I could checkout new equipment and get some carving tips. What do you guys think?
  19. So after my first season of hardbooting my riding has improved, but I know I still have a long way to go. I took this video last week to evaluate my "style" or lack thereof . Sorry for the poor quality of the video. ( how do you embed these things?) It looks to me as though I'm too dependent on my arms for balance. Maybe next year I'll ride with my hands tied behind my back! haha... Any thoughts as to what I should work on next year?
  20. I'm gonna be up there this Saturday. Who else is in?
  21. I borrowed a friend's Burton Alp 156 (he's too scared to ride it!) and had a blast doing some tighter turns than I'm used to and even raced it on a tight slalom course the other night. I'm 5'10" and 155lbs and my question is this, is this board too short for me? I'd like to use it to do some more races with. Also, this thing's as flexible as a wet noodle compared to my Axxess 167. I always assumed slalom boards were stiff?
  22. Hey Pebu, I was out there Saturday. Sunny and no wind really helped to offset the cool temps. I'm usually out there most Saturdays. This is my first full season on a hard boot set-up. Still haven't seen any other hardbooters yet, though. I love Caberfae, but would have to agree it has a lot of un-tapped potential.
