1. I'll be hard-booting some Friday and all day Sat. Probably ride softboot Sunday.
2. You bet. Will have a report after this coming weekend.
3. Found one. Thanks everyone! (Was - Still looking for a 4mm Boiler Plate in exc condition. 4x4 setup)
4. Looking to buy some cant discs 0,3,6 for experimentation.
5. Yes, I have. I've been riding it that way for 4 days this season. Funny thing is that it's felt close to perfect, and I've posted some really good personal times on the race course with it set up this way. In this reversed configuration, it would have a tendency to weight the board slightly towards the tail. I've swapped the cant discs over now to 3 front and 6 back, and rotated them very slightly to make the front flatter and the rear slightly inward canted, so, I'll see how I do with them in this configuration. I'm tempted to pick up some more 0,3, 6 cant discs to experiment more (then I could just change one thing at a time). Anyone selling, drop me a line.
6. Was looking at my bindings mounted on a board, thinking that "Hmmn, that doesn't look right". Seems like Fin designed the cant discs to have three notches visible from the exterior for the three degree disc (on the highest point on the cant), and six notches for the six degree can't disc. Sure enough, I had my six degree on my front binding, and the 3 degree on the rear. Good to know, and have the quick visual check. The more I use this stuff the more I learn. Fixed the setup, and looking forward to trying it out with the forward lean's set up correctly.
7. I'm enjoying reading this thread. I have a 4mm plate and a 5mm plate. I weigh 230, and the 4mm seems perfect. The 5mm seems way too stiff. How are you guys cutting into your plates? I can see the hole-saw approach.
8. If you pre-book on their new online discounted site, they offer ticks for about 50% off of window rates. So, it would be more like 5 days of riding. Group rate ticks can reduce this even further.
9. Yeah, wish I hadn't pre-bought ticks after I heard about that. Seems like it would pay off if I took 2 trips up there this season and/or next.
10. Bringing alpine and soft boot gear. Not sure which day I'll be riding alpine yet.
11. Here are the stainless serrated washers from the UK. They aren't quite the same as the UPZ one's but they do the same thing and are roughly the same shape. They fit the bolts fine.
12. Took a tumble a month ago. Late Saturday at Sugar, NC. Light was flat. I hit some bumps in the snow, medium speed. Board went out from underneath me, and I landed on my head and shoulder. As my body caught up, I heard what sounded like a crunching sounds coming from my chest. Had to sit down for a couple of minutes after that, and felt a little nauseous. It passed. No double vision. Rode down to the bottom. The helmet did it's job. Pain subsided from my shoulder down after a while and migrated over to the chest area. That day was quite an adventure; the snow was making the race course very rutted, and several folks were hauled down the slope with damage. Our race captain (skier) trashed his ACL that day and is out for the season. I was contemplating taking the next day off, but as so many others had been damaged worse, I put in my race runs, and did a little free-riding; keeping things conservative. My chest area on the right side was quite painful for a few days, especially to sleep on. I'm guessing bruised ribs. It was somewhat painful for a couple of weeks. Today, just over a month later, I can still tell, but the pain is now barely noticeable, and only apparent when I move in an unusual way. Anyhow, that's the first injury snowboarding in a long time.
13. I noticed that there is also a lock washer underneath the tongue screws. These are an angled lock-washer, fairly obscure part. I was able to source them from [h=1]stainlessautomotivefastenings.co.uk[/h] Countersunk Shakeproof Washers M 6 DIN 6798 form V Fun fun fun.
14. Interested. Pics would be nice. Which model is it?
15. Silversun Pickups are performing at Belly Up, Aspen in Aspen, Colorado on February 16th & 17th. Great show if you are there on the second Sat/Sun.
16. I read most of the threads, when contemplating doing the same on a SG, and decided to build my own plates out of kitchen cutting board material, mostly as I couldn't find a set of used catek spacers and did not want to order new ones. I did not experience any failure in the one short season that I rode them that way. Here's a pic.
17. 2nd in line. i would also like to see detailed pics of the plate.
18. Probably someone has a spare somewhere. In the meantime, scour ebay for a used set. The plastic levers on the Burton's were the first thing to break. I wonder if you could rig something up with a toe lever from another brand. This is a also a good time for you to consider buying a binding that has current parts availability.
19. I tried to find the screws in local store, and failed, they had 12mm long socket cap ones but after installing one, I can easily feel it on the inside of the shell when I run my hand past it. I could cut them down, but life's too short for that today. I just placed an order for these from Mcmaster Metric 316 SS Flat Head Socket Cap Screw M6 Size, 10mm Length, 1.00mm Pitch, packs of 50 Item # is 93395A351 $11.08 for 50 + shipping.

21. I wouldn't mod the tongue. I can speak from experience that losing a bolt on the tongue made an instantaneous difference in feel of the boot. How about adding a wing screw onto the tongue to allow you to unbolt them easily, if all else fails.
22. I'm running RC-10's with black tongues and Zipfit liners and shell is correctly sized. The liner is mushy (cork filled), and I have to do strange stuff to get into them without the liners changing shape while I'm getting into them. The only way I can into them successfully is to use a shim of thin plastic material around the back of the liner. I learnt a new trick last weekend, of taking the tongue of the liner and pulling it out and to the outside of the boot. This made a large difference. It made getting out of the boots much easier. I never even considered moving to walk mode, but I'll try that next time. Another way I've gotten into the boots when nothing else worked is to pull the liner out, put foot in it and then put foot + liner into shell. It's good to hear that others are having similar problems and hear what works for people.
