  1. What a bummer! I just noticed you were up North here with Steve, Kathy, and myself (I know I missed others, sorry :o). I too am just starting, but it would've been great if we were able to get together at Silver :( Recover soon!!!
  2. Really! I'm not sure why I thought they did...huh Well thanks though. :)
  3. Not to hijack or anything, but how much does manipulating the board have to do with leg strength? I'll be on an F2 as well, and this is making me think about the stiffness and how it might be a problem for me at this point.
  4. I can't do that. I have to drive 2 and a half hours. ...and I drive a stick. I would want to take them off when I got there.
  5. Ditto to what everyone suggests...kick the heel edge of your board into the snow (or stand in a flat spot) and clip in. I must have one of the newer TD1s because my heel bail has a spring on it. It makes it MUCH easier to snap in. And about the board, I'm glad I took the shorter one too. I'm about the same height (5'11") but 50lbs lighter, so I pretty much needed to go with a shorter one. ETA: I just noticed we have pretty much the same setup...TD1s, Burton Reactors, and F2 Speedsters. :D
  6. Great review! It's getting me really excited for my first time on my own alpine board. It's an F2 as well; 171 Speedster RS I picked up from a fellow member. I CAN'T WAIT!!! Glad to hear your first day was...adventurous. :D
  7. Yes, I've already tried a search, but I didn't have much luck. I'm wanting to know just how much of a difference cant plates make on binding angles. More specifically, I have a 3* cant in the front with the bindings set at about 50 degrees, and a 6* cant in the rear with the angles set at about 45* (I know they're subtle, but I'm still on a freestyle board...for now.) So what would these angles really translate to on the cant plates?
  8. Hmm...saw an alpine boarder at Lookout today. He was on a Genetics (?) board with snowpro race bindings. I'm sure it's not the guy in the pic above, but it's a fellow boarder nonetheless! I wonder if he's on BOL...
  9. Hey everyone, I was inspecting my Burton Reactors earlier and noticed something: I tried banging on it, but I just have a set of pliers in my dorm It doesn't effect the function of anything in any way. Should I get something bigger and try and bang it back into place, orrr... Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  10. What's it for? Just curious. Thanks :)
  11. Nicely packaged and wrapped in newspaper Now all I need to do is go to Walmart and get an allen wrench (sucks being in college w/o my tools :D) Thank you for the speedy shippy Tom!!! Just in time for tomorrow!!!! WOOO!! Many thanks again, Gus
  12. Hey Kathy are you up for Lookout on Saturday? If you are, could you possibly bring your 157? Even though it's a little small, it's something! Also, do you know anyone that would split a cupon with me? I have about 3 left and would like to get a discount, but I don't have anyone that can go with me :(
  13. Oh, and my girlfriend is also a harbooter (racer). She's been in HBs since she was 15. She's a keeper :D
  14. 18 here. Interest started when I was 17. Interest this season has just grown exponentially. I can't wait to get an alpine board :)
